Lilah has her heart pounding in her chest. She was finally free.
She could feel as they exited the house and the midday sun shone on them. It wasn't so bright that one would need to crouch their heads but she could feel the heat of it very well.
"How do you feel?" Kael asked Lilah. "Does it feel different now that you've left there?"
"Yes, it certainly does." Lilah answered. "But... Why didn't you tell me who you were?"
"Haha, I don't remember hiding it either." Kael answered. "Maybe I didn't want to seem suspicious. I mean, why would I, with my identity, suddenly decide to help you out of nowhere if not because I want something in return? That's how people always think when they meet a powerful figure."
"You're right." Lilah answered. "And it would seem even more suspicious that you decided to help me without wanting anything in return." She added, her voice soft and tender that it brought a smile to his lips.
She seemed too innocent and timid.
