Chapter 37 - Go For It Or Go Home!

In the final days before the new survival show is launched, Mitsunari sat in the studio, headphones on, eyes locked to the DAW on his screen. He had an idea that's something bold. Something different. The survival show wouldn't just introduce a new girl group; it would introduce a whole new era of Stax Entertainment. And what better way to kick it off than with a collaboration between the judges themselves?

He began writing a track titled "Go for It" a punchy, high-energy anthem filled with motivational grit, slick rap verses, and infectious vocal hooks. It wasn't just a theme song; it was a message. To the girls. To the viewers. To the entire industry.

As soon as the first instrumental demo was ready, Mitsunari brought in Jun to help co-produce the track. Jun was excited as he'd just finished polishing Block M's follow-up single and was hungry for another challenge. The two bounced ideas off each other like lightning. A beat drop here. A pre-chorus that felt like an adrenaline rush. A chant section where every judge could scream their support.

The first person Mitsunari contacted was Luna from KIK UP. Known for her smooth R&B tone and clever vocal layering, she agreed without hesitation. "I've been waiting to do something like this," she told him.

Bella from MASH was next. She was skeptical at first as MASH had been busy preparing for a comeback but the moment she heard the demo, she was in. Her rap verse would go right before the second chorus, her confident delivery driving the energy to the next level.

Jessi from AXA it's the legend herself as she's the wildcard. She hadn't done features in years. But when Mitsunari explained the message behind "Go for It," she smiled and said, "One take. That's all I need." She brought an unmatched swagger to her part, a bold reminder of the power and endurance of women in K-pop.

Seunghee from MAYZE joined, her emotional vocal tone filling the bridge with a sense of vulnerability and hope. "We need to show these girls what it means to rise," she told Mitsunari.

Yeonho, leader of the new boy group WA8 under We UP, added a clean, youthful flair to the track. His verse was about perseverance, taken from his own experiences training seven years before debuting. He became the final vocal feature on the track, wrapping it up with a rhythmic chant alongside Mitsunari.

With all vocals recorded, Jun and Mitsunari spent two straight nights perfecting the mix. Layering, refining, aligning every voice so that despite their different styles, the judges sounded like a unified team. When it was finished, the studio was silent for a moment. Then Jun smiled. "This isn't just a song. This is an anthem."

They all agreed the track would be revealed right before the survival show introduced its 13 trainees. The final moment before the journey began.

Tao coordinated everything as Stax's media team built a dynamic visual countdown that was broadcast across social platforms, teaser posters of the judges began circulating, and fans everywhere buzzed in anticipation. The show had yet to start, but "Go For It" was already being called the anthem of the year.

On the day of the reveal, all the judges gathered in the Stax headquarters, dressed sharply for the event. Mitsunari wore a sleeveless black outfit with silver trim as that's his signature look. The others each brought their own flavor. Luna in pearl tones. Bella in a streetwear blazer. Jessi in red. Seunghee in soft white. Yeonho in cool denim. Jun in an all-black fit with a headphone slung around his neck.

The countdown timer hit 10 minutes, and a huge screen was set up outside the Stax building and streamed globally. Fans, trainees' families, and even Stax artists like Block M, VIRE, and Block M gathered to watch.

As the timer ticked down, the screen showed footage of each judge recording their part in "Go for It." It was a behind-the-scenes montage: Luna behind a mic, Bella rewriting her verse on a notepad, Jessi laughing after nailing a punchline, Seunghee holding her headphones with teary eyes, and Mitsunari working with Jun late into the night.

The final 60 seconds began, and the "Go for It" track started playing while building from soft synths to a booming, vibrant opening hook. The beat dropped, and the screen lit up with the words:

"MEET THE 13 TRAINEES WHO WILL FIGHT TO DEBUT."

One by one, each of the 13 girls appeared on screen. Name. Age. Specialty. Background.

Rina, 18, Japan – Dancer Eunbi, 16, Korea – Vocal Minae, 17, Korea – Rapper Yumi, 19, Taiwan – Vocal/Dancer Sohee, 20, Korea – Vocal Aiko, 18, Japan – Vocalist Haerin, 16, Korea – Rapper/Dancer Jisoo, 21, Korea – Vocal Mizuha, 17, Korea – All-rounder Lani, 17, Philippines – Dancer Chaelin, 20, Korea – Main Rapper Yurina, 18, Japan – Visual/Vocal Jieun, 19, Korea – Vocal

The crowd gasped. The screen paused on each girl's face for a moment as the beat of "Go for It" continued to pulse in the background. There was pride. There was hope. And there was pressure.

The camera cut to the judges, standing together, arms crossed or resting on each other's shoulders. Mitsunari stepped forward and spoke into the mic:

"Thirteen girls. One dream. No shortcuts. No favorites. We're here to see who's ready to rise."

Cheers erupted across the courtyard.

The judges bowed, the song finished with the final line, shouted in unison by every featured artist:

"GO FOR IT OR GO HOME!"

It was official. The new era of Stax had begun.
