Chapter 80 - Dominik's Meltdown: Tailing the Perfect Couple Like It's a K-Drama

The sun was barely up, but Dominik was already strapped in behind the wheel of a nondescript black SUV, eyes glued to the bank of screens rigged into the dashboard. The ex-boss sat beside him, fingers flying over a laptop keyboard, hacking into security feeds and city cameras to patch in every move Leo and Nox made.

"Are you serious about this?" the ex-boss asked, arching an eyebrow as he glanced at Dominik's intense, almost obsessive focus.

"Dead serious," Dominik snapped, tapping the steering wheel. "I need to know what the hell is going on with those two. Their 'perfect balance' routine is driving me nuts."

The ex-boss smirked. "You mean their soap opera?"

Dominik shot him a glare but didn't deny it.

The car rolled quietly along the city streets, weaving through traffic but always keeping a discreet distance from Leo and Nox's black sedan ahead. On the screens, live feeds showed the couple's every move—subtle glances, shared coffees, tense conversations.

Dominik's lips twitched. "Look at that. Nox tries to sneak a touch on Leo's arm, and Leo immediately pulls back like he got burned."

He chuckled darkly. "What is this, a romance novel? The tension is so thick I could slice it with a knife."

The ex-boss leaned over, eyes narrowing at the monitors. "That's the wound talking. Leo's scared. Nox is just being dumb."

Dominik snorted. "Dumb? Nah, Nox is awkward. Like a kid who doesn't know how to say sorry properly. Have you seen the way he looks when Leo gets mad? It's like he wants to crawl under a rock."

The screen shifted to a lunch scene at the villa. Dominik's eyes widened as he zoomed in.

"Ah, there it is," he muttered. "Leo's giving that death glare. Meanwhile, Nox looks like he's trying not to laugh but can't help himself."

He shook his head, disbelief creeping in. "I swear, if I had a dime for every time Leo rolled his eyes, I could retire tomorrow."

Back on the road, Dominik pulled up behind their car again as they headed back to the apartment. The ex-boss tapped away, switching feeds to the inside cameras.

"Dinner time," Dominik whispered, voice heavy with anticipation.

The feed showed Nox sliding a small dagger across the table, and Leo's raised eyebrow betrayed his surprise.

Dominik leaned forward, voice low but theatrical. "Ohhh, after the apology drawing. Comes the crimson dagger Classic Nox move. So awkward it's almost cute. But Leo? Scoffing like he's better than it."

The ex-boss chuckled. "Yeah, but he took it too. That's progress."

Dominik grinned, but it was tinged with frustration. "Progress? More like a war of slow burns."

As night fell, the live feed flicked to the couch scene—their favorite comedy flick lighting their faces in the dim room. Dominik's eyes narrowed, zooming in on Leo's fingers playing with Nox's belly piercing.

"What in the hell is this?" Dominik huffed, voice rising with mock outrage. "Leo's toying with the piercing like it's a stress ball, and Nox is just sitting there, all serious questions about the dumbest romance movie scenes I've ever seen."

He slammed a fist against the dashboard. "I'm supposed to be the right-hand man, the enforcer, the mastermind! Not the emotional babysitter for these two soap opera rejects."

The ex-boss raised a brow. "Sounds exhausting."

Dominik threw up his hands. "It is exhausting. I'm not built for this kind of chaos. And yet... I can't look away."

Hours passed, cameras flashing between the apartment, the villa, and the company. Dominik's commentary grew wilder.

"Did you see that? Leo lighting Nox's cigarette carasing his neck scar. Intimate. Dangerous. Like they're in a movie and don't even realize it."

He shook his head, grinning despite himself. "This is no ordinary operation. It's a damn romance in the middle of a mafia war."

The ex-boss laughed. "Keep watching. I've hacked into the building's cameras too. You'll get a front-row seat to the 'perfect balance' in action."

By midnight, Dominik's frustration had reached new heights.

"They're like two dancers stepping on each other's toes but somehow making it look graceful."

He leaned back, running a hand through his hair. "Leo's petty, Nox's awkward, and the whole thing feels like a slow-moving disaster waiting to happen."

Suddenly, a new notification popped up—a movement alert from the apartment's back door.

Dominik's eyes shot to the screen: nox was sneaking out, moving silently into the night.

"There it is!" Dominik exclaimed. "Leo stays behind, worried sick, and nox—nox pulls his own damn stunt."

He shook his head, laughter bubbling up. "This is why I'm here. To catch the chaos before it explodes."

Exhausted but unable to stop watching, Dominik finally muttered to himself, "They're impossible. Infuriating. But damn, they're something else."

The ex-boss closed the laptop, smirking. "Looks like you've got your hands full."

Dominik nodded, eyes fixed on the flickering screens where two imperfect souls wove their messy, dangerous dance.

"Nox knows we've been watching. "
