Alexina POV
"Who was right?"
"You were right."
"Who was right?"
"You were right.
"What's my name?"
"Ask me another question Connor, I dare you." I narrowed my eyes at the idiot who is currently dancing around his bedroom.
Connor being right is something that practically never happens. So we're celebrating and by that I mean, I've agreed to watch every single episode of Riverdale with him.
You would think that he would want me to serenade him, do anything he wants for a week but no. I have to watch this series with him.
"I can't believe Grayson and TJ backed us up. Maybe we had the wrong impression on them?" Connor suggested and I shrugged my shoulders at him not really knowing what to say to that.
They backed us up but for what? They know we can look after ourselves, so why in the hell do they all of a sudden see that their friend is an idiot?
Going to reach for my phone, Connor beat me to it. It began to vibrate in his hand and his face dropped to a smirk as the screen lit up in his face.
"Its your mum." He laughed before chucking the phone to me.
Catching it effortlessly, I swiped across it and placed the phone against my ear.
"Alexina?"
"Hey mum,"
"Where are you?"
"I'm at Connor's dorm. Why?"
"I need to talk to you. Bring Connor aswell."
"What's this for mum? Can it not wait?"
"No sweetie. Its urgent."
"Erm- okay... do you need us to meet you anywhere or are you coming here?"
"I'll pick you both up and we can head to a cafe somewhere."
"Okay mum. I'll see you later."
Throwing my phone to the end of Connor's bed, I groaned and he turned to laugh at me. His grey eyes popping out while his hair flops against his head.
"My mum needs to talk to us, she said its urgent and that she will be here to pick us up." I informed Connor as he messed around with the pins that are on his notice board.
"You you reckon its something to do with Zinapanini and what's been happening?" He questioned and I shrugged my shoulders not really knowing so I can't give him an answer.
"I don't know." I sighed before standing up and grabbing a jacket. "But whatever it is... its not going to be good."
-----
I pushed my untouched plate further away from me, not feeling that hungry following these past few days and their gracious events.
My mother seemed pretty distant from her food aswell while Connor seemed more than happy to eat everyone elses food as he has nearly finished.
Pushing my plate towards him, I glanced at his pig eating actions and my mum shook her head.
"Lina and Colin raised him to have manners. How does he not have any?" She asked as she glanced at Connor.
"Sorry Ada, I haven't eaten all day," Connor smiled before raising a fry to his mouth. "Why are we here anyway?"
My mum watched closely around the restaurant, her eyes squinting to try and make sure that nobody hears what she is about to say.
What can be so important?
"We found a lead on Bennett's murder." She whispered and the utensils that Connor was holding crashed onto the plate as he looked up.
My jaw nearly hit the floor, is this a joke? I hope not. If this is true, we can finally get revenge on those who took Bennett from us.
"You- you what?" He stuttered. "How?"
"We have been looking into it, and how something isn't adding up. Its been nearly a year since its happened, I want justice." My mum spoke sternly.
"Well... what have you got?" I asked.
"The Zinapoli's. They know something. Margaret Zinapoli is who we're looking into." She whispered and I nodded my head while Connor fumbled with his fingers.
I can feel anger from his body, his leg is bouncing up and down and he isn't even looking at me or my mum, he is focusing on the table.
I think its great that ny parents and the others have found a lead on Bennett's death, I think it will bring a lot of comfort to us all if we found out the reason.
What I'm confused about is why my parents have been investigating this alongside the other elemental families but not included any of us.
How does she expect us to take any of this news slightly easier than what we would do if she is busy investigating while we're on the sidelines of all of this?
How am I suppose to feel okay when the situation we are involved in isn't okay!?
"Lets just talk about the most important thing right now," Connor looked up and my mum raised her eyebrows at him, questioning his next words.
Sometimes I think my mum hates Connor, she loves him but he gets on her nerves.
He gets on all of our nerves.
"I was right!" He beamed as he punched the air and I smiled before wrapping my hand around the back of his neck and shoving his face in the food.
Mayonnaise and fresh pasta spread across his face and I grinned as he turned to glare at me.
"You now have to watch another show with me aswell!" He smirked and I shook my head.
"No way."
"Oh yeah and I'm going to make sure its a show you're going to hate."
"Oh yeah? Like what?"
"Kiss my ass."
"Ew. No way."
"You just can't admit that I'm right."
"I did it one hundred times today already!"
"Well then make it one hundred and one." Connor smirked and I raised my eyebrows at him before turning to my mum who was watching us in disbelief. "Oh shit." Connor sighed as I slammed his face into his food again.
He lifted his head up, eyes closed as his brown hair was now covered in mayonnaise and pieces of pasta stuck to his face.
"How does that taste?" I asked and he shrugged his shoulders before peeling a piece of pasta from his cheek and dropping it in his mouth.
"Pretty good."
"You're disgusting." I laughed before handing him a napkin.
"I wish you could say you're wrong. But you're not."
