Chapter 7 - The Tease and the Threat

When the morning finally came, he expected silence.

But Valentina never gave him what he expected.

A message buzzed onto his burner phone:

"Come back. We have unfinished business."

He was halfway out the door before he could think better of it.

Back at the estate, Valentina sat perched at the end of a long dining table, dressed in blood-red silk and black leather gloves. She didn't greet him. Didn't even look up.

"I thought you dismissed me," Luca said, trying to keep his tone neutral.

She sipped her coffee. "I did."

"Then why am I here?"

Now she looked up—and the smile that curved her lips was pure poison and honey. "Because you came."

She stood slowly, walking toward him with deliberate grace and calculatedsteps. "You think this is about training. About bullets and power."

Her hand landed on his chest—soft, controlling.

"It's about obedience."

Luca swallowed. "And what do you want me to obey?"

Valentina stepped even closer, so close he could smell the spice of her perfume. She traced a gloved finger up his neck, pausing at his jaw.

"Your body already listens," she whispered. "But your heart still thinks it has a say."

Before he could speak, she kissed him again—rougher this time, her teeth scraping his lower lip, drawing just enough blood to remind him she was still dangerous.

Luca groaned, body lighting up, but the moment he reached to touch her—

She pushed him back.

"No," she said firmly. "You don't get to take. You only get what I give."

He stood there, breathless. Erect. Frustrated. Humiliated. But he couldn't deny it that was hot , he needed more of this but she's way too unpredictable.

She walked past him, back to her chair, calm and in control. Then she added, as if it were nothing:

"Oh, and your name came up in a threat from the Costanzo family. They want to use you to break me."

He froze.

"Why would they think that would work?"

She finally looked at him again.

"Because it might."

Before Luca could respond, she tossed him a folded photo an aerial shot of his apartment. Taken last night.

"Next time you ignore a warning, it might be your last". With that she left. Luca had an unfinished business he need to get some files sorted out. And when it was later in the evening, He got out cause he needed a break to clear his mid off of what has happened these few days. As Luca moved through the shadows, every sense on high alert. He knew he was being watched; the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the alleyway. Before he could react, a cloth was pressed over his mouth, and the world faded to black.

He awoke in a dimly lit room, wrists bound, the scent of leather and perfume filling his nostrils. Valentina stood over him, a predatory smile on her lips.

"Did you miss me?" she purred.

Luca's heart pounded. "What is this?"

She leaned in close, her breath warm against his ear. "A lesson."

Her fingers traced the line of his jaw, sending shivers down his spine. "You need to understand, Luca. In this world, you're either the hunter or the hunted."

She straddled him, her eyes locked onto his. "And right now, you're mine."

Luca's breath hitched as she leaned in, her lips brushing against his. The kiss was slow, deliberate, igniting a fire within him. But just as qui"Remember this feeling," she whispered. "Because next time, I might not be so gentle."

She stood, leaving him bound and breathless. Was she stalking him? Why the hell is she making things difficult for him Why is she trying to give him a hard time , he pondered over this .

He went back busy-ing himself with loads of work when his father approached him ; "You want to play smart huh, I told you to leave that fucking Rossi ,stop following her" . Luca just stared blankly at his father , " since when did I matter to you ?" , since when did you start meddling in my business ? .

"You are my so-" , " Your son huh ?" Luca interrupted what his father was yet to say. I have been nothing but your pawn. Nothing but a useless piece for nothing son.

" Lower your tone young man " Angelo uttered. You don't speak to a Don like that .

" A Don my foot ", he spat . He never for once feared his father though his father never acknowledged him .He could talk back , he knew he had to fear her cause she wasn't a peaceful hub but his dad had no right to decide what he had to do with his life. He stood up and shut the door leaving his father to his words.

The estate was cloaked in twilight, the air thick with anticipation. Luca stood in the grand hall, the echo of his footsteps swallowed by the opulent silence.

Valentina appeared at the top of the staircase, her silhouette framed by the dim light. She descended slowly, each step deliberate, her eyes locked onto his.

"You're here," she said, her voice a velvet caress.

Luca nodded, his throat dry. "You summoned me."

A smile played on her lips. "I did."

She approached, her presence overwhelming. "Do you trust me, Luca?"

He hesitated. "I... I don't know."

She leaned in, her breath warm against his ear. "Let's find out."

Valentina led him to a room adorned with rich fabrics and subdued lighting. She gestured for him to sit, and he obeyed.

"Close your eyes," she instructed.

Luca complied, his senses heightened. He felt the brush of silk against his skin, the scent of her perfume enveloping him.

Her fingers traced his jawline, sending shivers down his spine. "You're mine, Luca," she whispered. "Every part of you."

She keeps doing this , though it felt good but he didn't opt for this. Damn Valentina Rossi.
