"What's wrong?" Sophie Wilson was startled.
"The nanny dropped something." Charles Seymour's calm voice was perfectly normal, "Be your boyfriend?"
"Yeah, just pretend to be my boyfriend." She couldn't make their relationship clear to him now, but she could pretend for a start.
If they pretended long enough, it could become real.
Since she was reborn, she had already decided she was going to win him over for sure!
Isn't this the perfect opportunity now? She wasn't going to let it slip.
"Pretend?" Charles Seymour's voice, which had just warmed up, quickly fell back to the freezing point, "Why do you want to pretend to be your boyfriend?"
"It's Eva, the one who told you my whereabouts. She insists that I'm selling myself to pay off debts and is trying to ruin my reputation at the company, so I told her you're my boyfriend. You're pursuing me, using a different approach."
"She refuses to believe, so I need you to come pick me up after work to prove it."
After Sophie Wilson finished, she didn't hear a response from the other end for a long time and suspiciously lifted the phone to her eyes, the call wasn't disconnected.
Not disconnected, why no sound?
"Hello, hello?" Sophie Wilson called out over the phone, "Can you hear me?"
"I can hear you." A gritted teeth voice came through, making Sophie Wilson shiver, was he angry?
Why?
He won't refuse, will he?
Just when Sophie Wilson was about to find a reason to convince him, she heard his short response: "Alright."
"Really?" Sophie felt delighted inside, knowing he was good to her and wouldn't deny her.
Charles Seymour's next words made Sophie's heart jump again: "But..."
"But what?" Sophie held her breath, nervous.
"Add another year to the experiment time."
"Alright." Sophie readily agreed, meanwhile exhaling the breath she was holding, she thought it was something serious.
Not to mention adding a year, she was willing to stick with him for this lifetime, he wouldn't be able to shake her off even if he tried.
"Okay, deal!" Charles Seymour finished and promptly hung up the phone.
"Hey, hey..." Sophie called twice to the phone, pouting at the disconnected call, murmuring, "Didn't even ask what time I get off work."
Scratching her head and shrugging her shoulders, Sophie tapped the phone with her index finger, "If you don't show up when the time comes, see how I'll deal with you. Hmph!"
After speaking, Sophie herself burst out laughing.
She wiped the sweat off her palm on her clothes, she finally felt relieved until now.
He really cares about her, at this point in the past life, he was already very much caring about her.
Patting her own head, Sophie genuinely didn't understand how she was so stupid in her past life.
Absolutely didn't see his feelings for her.
Luckily, living again gave her the chance to make up for this regret.
Sophie returned to the marketing department, where the HR and admin manager Sister Carter was standing glaring at her and scolded, "Sophie Wilson, you were late today, you know that?"
"I know, according to company rules, just dock my pay." Sophie said carelessly.
Sister Carter frowned and scolded, "You think it's that simple? If every employee in the company was like you, how would the company function? Do you know the bad influence you've caused?"
"So what do you suggest?" Sophie crossed her arms, looking teasingly at Sister Carter, raising her eyebrows and asked, "Fire me to vent for Eva?"
