After the flurry of emotions and the heartfelt confessions between them finally settled, Jayvaughn still held Axel close, his lips brushing lightly against the side of Axel's head. He could hardly believe what he'd just heard—that Axel liked him too. That despite all the misunderstandings and tension, they were finally on the same page.
But Jayvaughn wasn't one to let things slide that easily.
Clearing his throat, he leaned back slightly, looking at Axel with a mock-serious expression. "Now that we've sorted that out," he began, raising an eyebrow, "we need to address the fact that you didn't tell me someone literally tried to kill you and I have to still learn from the police on my way here that the only reason you survived was because someone saved you."
Axel blinked at him and pouted like a sulky cat. "I didn't want you to worry…"
