The elevator chimed as Axel and Jayvaughn arrived at the practice room located in their condo building. As the door slid open and they stepped in, Noah and James, who had been sitting on the studio couch tuning their instruments and warming up, looked up in unison.
They exchanged a meaningful glance, wordlessly speaking volumes. Their eyes said it all: They're finally back. Together. And practicing again.
Though they were both thinking the same thing, neither of them brought it up. Instead, Noah stood and approached Axel with a look of concern. "Are you okay? I saw the news. We would've come to see you, but Jayvaughn told us you weren't in the right state to receive visitors after your parents left."
Axel blinked, caught off guard, then turned his head toward Jayvaughn with a raised brow. The silent question in his eyes was clear: "When was I not in the state to receive visitors?"
