"Huh?" Shurry realized something when he tried to grab the thing he was looking for… "It's heavy? Why's this pen so heavy?" A confused look was all he could muster.
"That's how I keep my strength up while cooped up in here."
"Huh. Weighted tools? Interesting." Shurry noted, opting to ignore the pen for now. Instead he focused on the magic crystal. He licked the crystal. It doesn't taste like anything. Odd. Is it hard? He bit it. Not really, but it is crunchy.
"Uh, ma'am, is that safe?"
"I don't know. He is a werewolf though, so it'll be hard for him to not digest something. They can eat pretty much anything… Shurry, do you feel off at all?"
Continuing to munch on the magic crystal he blinked in his caretaker's direction. "Oh, I do feel funny… It's really warm, but it doesn't feel bad-" He stopped, and then he beastified. "Huh? How? The moon's not out yet, and it's not even full."
"Can you change back?" Shurry nodded, poofing back to normal. "Phew, that's good. For now, the two of you must keep this to yourselves, understand?"
"YES Ma'am!" The man turned to run out of the room. "I'm afraid I must go now, I can't be late after all." He disappeared. What the hell is that kid? With an ability to transform without the moon… If only he were born in Orario or elsewhere…
"Hey, watch where you're going, tool. Don't go getting a big head like that. I can still make sure you're reduced to a slave." Lady Kali scolded as the man nearly ran her over.
"Ah, my apologies Lady Kali. I'm late for my appointment. And in shock…"
Kali clicked her tongue. "Take this with you then, and make sure you please them beyond pleasure to make up for this affront." She started handing the man something…
"For me? Thank you Lady Kali… Hmm?"
Kali had jerked back just in time to keep the little liquid from the man. "Not yet, tell me what had you in a frenzy."
"Something that boy did, I can't say anything else, or else I may suffer that fate…"
"Hmm, that difficult expression you have tells a lot. Very well, I'll go see my little pet and demand he show me this fun new thing." She handed the man the tiny vial of liquid, and sent him off.
After a few stunned moments of silence… Sighing, the executive glared at the other Amazoness. "You should wipe that grin off your face. The odds of you claiming him for a snu snu are astronomically low."
"Huh? Oh that's right, I have a death match coming up soon!" The Amazoness perked up with a fire burning in her eyes. "I can hardly wait. The chance to rank up to lvl 3… I've waited for far too long for this chance."
"Well, it's not easy to reach these levels without a dungeon. Orario makes this way easier. In my case I have to wait until another of our comrades is also ready to level up. And the next person up on that list is someone who's been cowering in a corner for some time now. I want to fight so bad. I'm sick of fighting death row criminals for sport. They're too damn weak." She took Shurry's glass and started to fill it up a bit more. "I wish there was a way to change that…"
"Ma'am? You said this future snack… Achem, this cutie here, wants to get stronger. Perhaps Lady Kali will make it possible for him to be the executioner in those matches?" The Visitor suggested, eyeing Shurry who was still munching down on the last bite of magic crystal.
"I could be convinced to do something like that. It sounds like it will be entertaining. Having him fight the Amazonesses wouldn't be fair for many reasons. But those that don't have a falna…" Lady Kali came by to see what was going on. He's eating a magic stone? Interesting. "So, what was it that caused a tool to nearly run me over in the hall? It must have been very fun."
"Goddess! Oh… Uhm…"
"Oh no matter what, you keep doing what you're doing. Now then young Shurry, what was it that scared that tool so terribly bad? And remember, no lying." Kali said, with a rather curious look. She was obviously interested.
Shurry answered by beastifying once more. The look on Kali's face was nothing short of unimpressed, but then remembered not only was it barely mid day, there was still a week left until the full moon.
"All werewolves have this ability, but it's limited to the full moon. Some extraordinary specimens can pull off near complete transformations within a week around the full moon, but even then it's limited to really dark nights, and it's still not complete." Kali was actually concerned with this development. "Return to normal. I need to look at something." She pulled out a tiny needle.
Shurry, now back to being a normal boy, was held down by his caretaker. In this country, males didn't have privacy, naturally this included statuses. Kali took a look at the black markings on his back, her eyes widened a bit.
"It seems you haven't done anything to warrant an odd ability. What made you transform?"
"I ate a magic crystal. It was a small one." Shurry replied. "Oh, it didn't really taste very good either."
"Lady Kali, does he have the ability to generate that one ridiculous skill that one man in Zeus' familia? The one that lets him eat monsters?"
"No, his skill hasn't developed enough to manifest yet. I want to wait and see what happens… But we should put some pressure on him. Have him kill the death row criminals in next month's death games."
"As you wish Lady Kali. It will be done."
"That's right Mama Kali! I'm going to get really strong!"
Kali turned around and walked away, leaving out of the door. I really need to ask someone about those wolves. I know next to nothing about them after all… How do I do this?
After Kali left, the visitor in the office also took her leave. "Alright Shurry, you're coming with me. I have to inspect a certain location now. It may be unpleasant, but it's far better than the other place."
