By the time Carter was done with his shift he was too tired that he could not lift even a finger he asked to sleep in Kevin's room inside the office which Kevin readily agreed to the reason was unknown to Carter himself he never thought too much of it and went directly to sleep on that soft bed sll his worries about work and those girls following around atleast in school he looked too ugly for most girls and he would always also see thise girls around him at the club but it was better not to disturbed in two places at the same time and the reason why he never wore his glasses at work was because of the promise he made to Kevin after all that was the only reason he wouldn't wear them. Kevin had found him in his very desperate limit, he helped him with the work and took care of him until he was stable. He fell asleep thinking about those moments that he really wanted to kill himself at some point he was just a high schooler but atleast he was there for him until he was back on his feet.
Carter fell asleep thinking about those moments he looked peaceful and angelic more innocent than anything as he slept that even the man who entered the room was taken back by such a sight on his bed he knew that Carter was handsome and pretty at the same time but he knew that even though he liked him but the other will only see him as a brother and his father might end up swallowing him whole , he can say that his father loved Carter as his own after he brought him home when he once found him in the cold suffering and he cold and small for his age so he thoughthe was ten years old so he brought him home and took care of him and during that particular time his father found out and he was almost bitten because his father thought he was dating a minor. He explained everything before his butt he was afraid of pain the most and his dad knew about it.
The answer thus father got made him be proud that he was gifted a sports car and a condo which made him happy and he sold the condo and got the money for the bar and that was how he started his business even though his father helped but not that much but he helped market his club and a lot of customers came within the first week. By the time Carter woke up but he seems to be too stubborn to listen to anyone more so he never listened to anyone including him and his father . His father wanted to adopt him at that time but he refused and left the most secure place and went back to his grandparents house when they found him in the place where he was staying and he didn't have anything and that's when Carter told them that the day he was found by Kevin he was looking for a job but found nothing due to him being under age and his small body made things worse. That's how Kevin hired him atleast he was almost sixteen at that time which was a legal age in there country hence he managed until he reached sixteen and was able to buy food and afford rentals because his grandmother's home was delapitated hence he needed a new place.
Kevin and his father came through at the time and they always ate together until university days when Carter started depending on himself for everything but they never worried about Carter one thing they knew was that he was capable and stubborn hence both him and his father could not do the convincing or persuade him to live with them well as for the meals they can say that it was w forced , his father would always bring food at the bar and call both him and Carter to eat at the same time making it easier to feed the stubborn kid and that's how Kellie took the young Carter as his son.
A knock came st the door making Kevin stop his thoughts from running wild and went to the door to open itand he found a worried Charline at the door so he opened the door wider for her to enter inside and when he saw the sleeping boy on his bed she breathed a sigh of relief before looking at Kevin attitude changing one hundred and eighty degrees and gave the other man a side glace terrifying the sitting man out of his wits because she gave him the look that told one that if he did something wrong murder could be the only option. He laughed nervously waving his hands indicating he couldn't do anything wrong to Carter. Charline took the sleeping Carter and carried him in a princess carry leaving the other man to sigh thinking how his plan won't go through because of the young girl.
" Thanks for taking care of my cousin and don't look at me as if I was going to kill you anyway thanks for always being there for him because not everyone in our family liked him and he has suffered a lot and if it weren't for your family I'm sure something bad would have already happened to him due to his stubbornness." She bowed to Kevin before leaving with the sleeping carter in her arms leaving a stunned Kevin with mouth wide agape after all he never thought he could be appreciated by the girl who looked at him like an enemy all the time so it was surprisingly awkward and surprising for him. He went to his side table took a car key to drive back home.
Charline stopped a taxi by the road boarded it after making sure Carter was safely put inside and was comfortable with the position he put him in , he knew that Carter went to Kevin's office to sleep as they were cleaning up all the mess left behind by the customers and the glasses used making him take Carter later than expected but atleast he slept well today and that gave her some peace of mind after all ge had a morning class the following day well it was that day after all it was past midnight she thought to herself as the car stopped at the school gate and he didn't use the gate but jumped over the wall and went to Cartier's room laying him on the bed before sleeping beside him. She remembered how she never woke the sleeping Carter the day before, she knew how tired he was and wanted him to rest and not focus too much on both work and school at the same time.
Farter woke up at around seven in the morning realising he only had one hour to get to class he made some tea to and took the bread to make a sandwich which he packed in containers and put them in his bag he then put the bread and tea on the table and went to wake up Charline. He came down since she decided to clean up first and Carter decided to eat first after all there was a single bathroom in the dormitory and most people were not awake yet. He finished and prepared everything he needed for his lessons . By the time he was done he Charline was done washing up and was also done dressing so he did everything quickly and by fifteen minutes to eight they were in the school grounds heading towards class.
He met some of his classmates on the way in which they offered polite greetings to each other and everyone went there way others were chatting about well the usual things" gossip heard in school". Carter took his seat and took out his learning materials and started going through the notes for the class he missed but the lesson was easier for him to understand so he took less than five minutes to go through all the learning materials and he checked the other classes and they all were easier to understand and he finished just as the lecturer entered there class room who offered them a short greeting before he started going through the notes from the lesson before and started the days topic.
The lesson went smoothly without any incidences and as he left the classroom a girl approached him, well from what little he knew she was from a rich family and was liked by msny and she broke many hearts at the same time apparently she never liked anyone who confessed to her and rejected them all." Hello, I'm scarlet from the business department can we talk well in private if you are free." The truth is that he never wanted to talk to her and the envious glsnces made him too uncomfortable and ge was about to reject her when Charline came at that moment saving him from the awkwardness.
