The sound of continuous beeping and the heavy smell of antiseptic filled the room.
"Where the fuck am I?" Nora thought to herself.
The last thing she could remember was being in the car with Alice, then screaming—and then everything went black.
"Where's Alice?" she thought, panicking.
"Nora, you're awake!" a very familiar voice said, engulfing her in a big hug.
"I thought something had happened to you. I thought I lost you," Lee said into the crook of her neck.
"Get off me. I need to get to Alice. Where's Alice? I need to find Alice," she said, pulling off the drip and trying to get out of the bed.
"Alice is in the ICU. You can't see her right now, and you're not doing well either. The cast on your arm isn't even dry yet. You need to get back into this bed."
"She's in what?" Her legs gave out as she collapsed to the floor.
Lee pulled her up, carrying her back to the bed.
"She's going to be okay. She's currently in a coma, but she's going to be okay."
