Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Worldline Alpha — Legacy Unleashed

Fork Selected: Preserve legacy allies, unstable tech, corrupted remnants

Cain.exe stood within the swirling corridor of quantum-code, his body slowly decompressing from the triplicate fork. Three versions of himself had splintered across realities—but now, only one activated.

Worldline Alpha came alive.

This was the world closest to Cain's original starting zone—Glitchborn Vale—but now it was older, war-torn, and infected by remnants of corrupted patches left behind by the Null Warden invasion. The very air shimmered with unstable code logic. NPCs flickered in and out of awareness, System screens lagged or jittered mid-scroll, and entire chunks of the terrain blinked through time.

But Cain.exe was stable.

Stronger.

> [REALITY ANCHOR STATUS: LOCALIZED. ADMIN RECOGNITION OVERRIDDEN. YOU ARE THE HIGHEST-PRIORITY ENTITY IN THIS FORK.]

He stepped forward.

His first priority? Reconnecting with Legacy Units—those rare NPCs, summoned generals, and system-bound allies who had survived glitched or unsaved timelines before the ascension. He called out a command through his internal UI.

> [RE-INITIALIZE LEGACY FILES: SUMMON — GENERAL RAVEN.NEXUS, TROOP COMMANDER "NULLWRAITH.7", SUPPORT AI: PIX.E]

The sky cracked.

A thunderous sound of digital chains unraveling echoed through the shattered zone.

One by one, they returned.

Raven.Nexus landed first—her armor flickering between mech plating and shadow-infused tactical mesh. Her eyes bore the strange light of multiverse survival.

"Cain?" she asked, unsure. "Which version are you?"

He smirked. "The one that remembers dying for you all."

Then came Nullwraith.7, a ghostlike commander hybrid of tech-beast and void knight, bound by forbidden summoning protocols. He knelt before Cain.exe, glitching slightly.

"We've waited. You became... more."

Cain nodded. "And now it's time we fix everything."

---

Behind the spire, ancient corrupted structures hummed back to life. These were once dungeons, but had been overwritten by failed patches and mod errors. They were now Glitched Realms—unpredictable subspaces where loot logic, death mechanics, and physics didn't obey any rules.

Perfect for Cain's plan.

> [REALITY FORK MODIFIER: ENABLE — PATCH LOOT SCATTER AND LEGACY MEMORY RECOVERY]

Suddenly, the sky pulsed.

A Reality Surge began.

Outdated boss units, corrupted NPCs, and ghost players began respawning across the region—some hostile, others confused. It was a second apocalypse.

And Cain.exe stood at the center of it all, building something new.

> "We're going to make this Realm obey," he declared. "Not by following the rules... but by writing our own."
