The front door clicked shut behind Takao as he stepped into the comforting warmth of his home.
"I'm home!" he called out, his voice low but calm.
"Perfect timing!" his mother called from the kitchen. "Dinner's almost ready, go wash up!"
Takao chuckled softly, slipping out of his shoes and heading to the bathroom.
The sight in the mirror made him pause. Even now, after months of watching his transformation unfold, it still caught him off guard. He had a sharper jawline, broader shoulders, more definition in his arms and chest than most full-grown adults. His black and white tipped hair, a mess from the fight earlier that day, blue eyes stared back at him, clearer and brighter than before.
He turned the tap, splashing water onto his face, before heading into the dining room where two steaming bowls waited.
His mother set down a pot of rice and gestured for him to sit. "You look like you've had a day." she said, raising an eyebrow as she took her seat.
Takao gave a half-smile. "You could say that."
She took a bite, then pointed her chopsticks at him. "Okay, spill. What happened? I know that face, you're trying to look cool and mysterious."
He sighed, rolling his eyes at his mother and leaned back in his chair. "We had our first combat exercise at U.A."
Her eyes widened slightly. "Already?"
"Yeah, indoor hero vs villain team battles in pairs."
She squinted. "And…?"
"I ended up fighting one of them alone. Name's Bakugo. Loud, angry, exploding hands. Real temper reminds me a lof a Pomeranian."
Her expression tightened. "And you're okay?"
"Yeah." Takao replied with a shrug. "I only used the Aspect of Zeus: Lightning. No side effects anymore. Knocked him out pretty cleanly."
She blinked. "You knocked out another student?"
"He attacked first." he said defensively. "And I held back no broken bones or burns. Just…some damaged pride."
She sighed, then chuckled despite herself. "Just be careful. You're strong, Takao. Stronger than most. But the stronger you get, the more eyes you'll draw. Remember that with great power comes great responsibility."
"I know, I know." He muttered, then changed the subject clapping his hands. "Thanks for the food."
The rest of dinner passed with lighter chatter. He told her about "Broccoli Head" the green-haired kid from the exam who'd somehow made it into Class 1-A and who he wasPaired with . His mother laughed at the nickname and gently reminded him not to judge people too quickly. Takao offered no promises.
As the dishes were cleared, Takao paused at the door to the backyard.
"I'm gonna train a bit before bed."
"Another combo drill?" she asked.
He shook his head. "No…something new." The sky overhead was clear—no clouds, no wind, just silence. Perfect.
Takao stepped onto the slightly damp grass, barefoot and focused. The cool earth grounded him as he stood in the center of the yard, eyes closed, feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat.
He'd never attempted this before. It was more than elemental. It was raw, divine weather control, the realm of Zeus and his divinity in its truest form.
He exhaled slowly.
"Aspect of Zeus: Atmokinesis.
The moment the words left his lips, the world shivered.
Clouds appeared from nothing, thick and fast, spiraling above him in unnatural swirls. The temperature dropped. The wind howled, slamming against the fence. Trees creaked, groaning under invisible pressure.
Takao clenched his jaw as the storm bent to his will. A gust of wind burst around him in a violent ring, forcing his body to brace. His eyes sparked with golden light as thunder cracked overhead.
His arms trembled.
Lightning danced between his fingertips and his eyes glowed golden. Not just gold radiant, as if the essence of lightning itself merged within him. He could feel the storm wanting to obey, wanting to tear loose at his command.
But the voices in the wind were too much. The air felt alive. It screamed in static, whispered in rain, roared in thunder. The complexity was suffocating. He could barely focus, barely stay upright.
His breathing became erratic and his vision blurred.
Then…
He collapsed to one knee, clutching his head.
A sharp pain spiked behind his eyes. Blood dripped from his nose. His muscles ached as if they'd been pulled by invisible strings.
He dropped the aspect instantly.
The wind vanished.
The clouds dispersed.
Silence returned.
Takao sat there, panting, a low growl of frustration building in his throat. "Three seconds…That's all I could do."
But even that was progress. He staggered to his feet and dragged himself inside. After a quick rinse and change, he slumped at his desk and opened his Quirk notebook. Flipping to the page for Zeus, he jotted down his results:
Aspect of Zeus: Atmokinesis
Length: 3 seconds.
Side effects: Sensory overload, environmental hyper sensitivity.
To develop: Stronger vessel needed, possible postponement on developing this aspect until I'm stronger.
He stared at the page for a long moment.
"Maybe it's time I tried a new Gods aspect." he muttered.
He flipped to a blank page and started a new section labeled potential Godly aspects:
Poseidon
Hermes
Ares
Apollo
Takao leaned back, letting out a long breath. He wasn't strong enough.
But , he would be.
