Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Robin's Fan Club (187)

Even just signing her name, after hundreds of repetitions, Robin felt her wrist aching. She rubbed it, flexed her fingers, and greeted yet another fan with a smile, ready to continue.

But as the line of fans surged forward, Robin couldn't quite maintain her composure when a Dragon Lady appeared before her. "Yu Lin? What are you doing here?"

"What do you think? I'm here for Bird Sister's autograph, of course!" Yu Lin exclaimed excitedly. "How could I possibly miss this? I've been Bird Sister's biggest fan for over ten years!"

God, ten years already? Robin thought with a mixture of exasperation and amusement. Still, she took the pink envelope Yu Lin offered and elegantly signed her name.

When she'd first ventured out that day, Robin had been meticulous with her first autograph for a passerby, striving to write her name as beautifully as possible. Now, however, she'd grown apathetic. She no longer aimed for perfection, just trying to avoid mangling her signature.

To the later fans, I'm so sorry, but my hand is about to fall off... sniff

As Robin handed back the envelope, she couldn't help but think, Yu Lin is probably one of the few people in this group who's genuinely excited to ask for my autograph.

Immediately afterward, Lü Heng approached, his expression slightly embarrassed.

Robin stared in silence.

Lü Heng clasped his hands together. "Anyway, please!"

The autograph session lasted about half an hour. Afterward, everyone took their seats as the hotel staff began serving the meal. Seemingly ordinary dishes were placed on the table, yet each bite proved to be surprisingly delicious.

Robin found herself at a table with several members of Zhong Wanhong's team, including Lü Heng, Yu Lin, and Artyom, the burly man from the Bear Nation. She didn't see Bai Yuanju anywhere and learned that she was still working at the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations.

Poor thing... No, what a dedicated person, Robin thought.

During the meal, out of curiosity, Robin inquired about the hundred-plus New Evolvers. They were a mix of men and women, and Robin even spotted a young girl who couldn't have been older than fourteen. Most of them bore minor injuries.

"After all, it was a battlefield. Injuries are inevitable," Zhong Wanhong said, taking a sip of his wine. "No one can avoid making mistakes entirely. Fortunately, most of the injuries were minor. All the Evolvers returned alive—not a single fatality among them."

In truth, some had suffered severe wounds—penetrating abdominal injuries, massive blood loss, damaged internal organs, and the like. But these individuals were promptly evacuated to the rear and healed by Bai Yuanju's Ability.

Robin asked, "What about the non-Evolvers? What were their casualties?"

Zhong Wanhong took another swig of wine, a bitter smile spreading across his face. "Isn't this supposed to be a celebration? Let's talk about something else, something more cheerful."

His words seemed to freeze the atmosphere at the table. The only sounds were the clatter of utensils and Yu Lin's enthusiastic munching.

"Hmm? Why are you all staring at me? Eat up!" Yu Lin said, stuffing a chicken wing into her mouth, seemingly oblivious to the tense conversation. "This is so good, Bird Sister! You have to try it!"

"And this one too—the flavor is amazing!"

As Yu Lin spoke, she casually placed a piece of meat in Robin's bowl. Suddenly, a thoughtful expression crossed her face. "Speaking of which, Bird Sister, can you eat poultry?"

Robin sighed, a hint of exasperation in her voice. "I'm not a real bird. I don't have any dietary restrictions."

"Oh, right~" Yu Lin took a sip of her drink before quickly changing the subject. "After this meal, most of the people here will probably be leaving, right?"

It was impossible for all 187 individuals to join the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations. Zhong Wanhong had already secretly estimated that only about half of them were inclined to do so. Even among that half, most would likely be reassigned to other cities rather than remain in Longcheng. After all, ninety-odd people was far more personnel than the city needed.

"That's understandable," Robin replied. "Everyone has their own ambitions." Truthfully, her own decision to join the Bureau stemmed from the fact that it wouldn't interfere with her System objective of becoming a Songstress, while also allowing her to leverage official backing.

Thinking of this, she silently summoned the word "System" in her mind and glanced at the System panel:

[The Beautiful Girl Masquerade System is at your service.]

[Host: Mu Heng]

[Current Identity: Robin]

[Current Objective: Songstress (31.2%)]

Robin had already completed nearly a third of her objective, and considering she had only been in this world for a little over a month, she felt her progress was quite impressive.

Still, if she were being honest, some more specialized systems might have propelled their hosts to global dominance within the same timeframe. Compared to those, her system felt rather lackluster.

As all good things must come to an end, the lavish dinner concluded, and the 187 attendees dispersed. For each of them, today marked a farewell to the past and the dawn of a brand-new future.

Perhaps they would start live streams, leveraging their Evolver status to attract massive audiences no matter what they did.

Perhaps they would apply for exclusive Evolver-only jobs, earning the exorbitant salaries they had once only dreamed of.

They might join the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations and serve their country.

At first glance, it seemed these individuals would never cross paths again. However, unbeknownst to Zhong Wanhong, a man named Song Kang had added all of them to his WeChat contacts and created a group chat.

[Robin's Fan Club (187 Members)]

The name itself was utterly unremarkable, like countless other chat groups that had proliferated among Robin's massive fanbase.

Groups like "Robin Knight Order," "Protect the Most Beautiful Bird," and "Robin Solo-Stan Group" all boasted distinctive names. In comparison, Song Kang's group chat name was strikingly bland and forgettable.

But... when every member of this group turned out to be an Evolver, the situation took on an entirely different dimension.

Could a group of a hundred ordinary people ever compare to a group of over a hundred Super Soldiers?

After everyone dispersed and returned home, Song Kang immediately posted in the group chat, "Robin is absolutely stunning! She's a million times cuter than I ever imagined!!!"

The others quickly chimed in:

"+1, +1, +1"

"Her voice is so lovely, and her tone is so gentle... Ugh, I'm in love!"

"MY LIFE FOR ROBIN! 🙏(╥﹏╥;)'"

"‎RAAAGH SHES SO BEAUTIFULLL!!!! (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ ┻━┻"

"Put Miss. Robin's Table back now! How can she sign autographs now?!"

"┬─┬ ノ( ゜-゜ノ)"

So it seemed they had only managed to maintain their composure in Robin's presence, secretly going wild in the group chat.
