Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Preparing for the Concert

After finishing her discussion about the music arrangements, Robin approached Lü Heng and Chu Xingyu. She tentatively suggested, "Um... is it possible to link the concert tickets to personal identity information?"

Linking tickets to identity would mean that only the person who originally purchased the ticket could use it, effectively eliminating scalping at its root. Robin simply loathed scalpers.

A concert ticket originally priced at a few hundred yuan could skyrocket to tens of thousands due to scalpers' markups. Robin didn't want her fans' wallets to suffer such an unnecessary burden.

Perhaps some fans might willingly pay that much to attend a concert, but even so, Robin refused to let scalpers profit from their desperation.

Unsurprisingly, Chu Xingyu froze upon hearing this proposal. "Huh?!"

Robin hadn't considered the technical difficulties or the additional logistical challenges her seemingly simple suggestion would create for the concert's organization.

"I mean, isn't that... unnecessary?" Chu Xingyu protested.

"Alright, I understand," Lü Heng replied.

"Huh?" Chu Xingyu's lips twitched slightly. Seeing Lü Heng's impassive expression, he sighed resignedly. Fine, you're the boss. We'll do it your way.

Finally, Robin approached Shu Cat and Invincible Bro. These two didn't have fixed roles, but that didn't mean their workload was light. In fact, their lack of specific duties meant they had to handle everything!

Robin kept her thanks brief, but Shu Cat immediately perked up as if he'd just downed an energy drink, his entire body vibrating with enthusiasm.

"Leave it to me! Whatever the task, I guarantee it'll be done!"

"Huff—huff—"

Robin could even see a faint flush creeping up his cheeks. In contrast, Invincible Bro remained calm. If Shu Cat was a young man in his early twenties, Invincible Bro looked like a scruffy uncle in his thirties. He wore a sleeveless vest, baggy gray shorts, and slippers, his face unshaven with stubble.

"Hey, we're just your underlings, after all," Invincible Bro said with a dismissive wave. "Just doing our job."

In a way, Invincible Bro's online and real-life personas matched perfectly—calm and rational.

But how could someone so composed be so unkempt?

After seeing the two off, Robin returned to Tong Guoguo, who was working nearby. Everyone else was hard at work. Together, they focused on recreating "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking."

It's worth noting that most of the volunteers weren't actually working at the stadium. They had merely gathered there to familiarize themselves with the concert venue before being assigned their tasks and dispersing.

Time flowed steadily onward. By the second and third days, thanks to the tireless efforts of countless Evolvers, the stadium had been miraculously restored to more than half its former glory at an unimaginable pace.

On the fourth day, Lü Heng and Chu Xingyu launched a website for ticket sales.

On the fifth day, the music production team delivered the first new song, and Robin began rehearsing. That same day, all zombie corpses were removed from Longcheng, officially marking the end of the crisis.

With her schedule freed up, Yu Lin spontaneously volunteered to help organize the concert.

By the eighth day, thanks to the absurdly efficient "Dragon Nation Speed," the entire Longcheng Central Stadium had been fully reconstructed.

On the tenth day, a flood of promotional materials inundated the internet. Many people even took subway trips to Longcheng just to get a sneak peek at the concert venue.

On the twelfth day, the concert's provisional setlist was finalized at eighteen songs. Robin arrived at the fully renovated stadium for her first full dress rehearsal.

In the early hours of the fourteenth day, the concert's official date and the decision to live stream it globally for free were announced, and pre-sale tickets went on sale. Naturally, Chu Xingyu vehemently opposed the "free live stream" requirement.

We're pouring money, labor, and resources into preparing this concert, he thought. It's only right that audiences pay for tickets to enjoy it in person. Why should others get to watch it for free?

He nearly lost his cool. Are these clients just making up increasingly absurd demands? Identity-bound ticketing? Fine, that just means extra work. But a free live stream? That directly impacts the concert's revenue!

Even though Chu Xingyu personally wouldn't profit from the concert's success, his professional instincts kicked in, driving him to fiercely object.

Then, under Lü Heng's calm gaze, Chu Xingyu instantly declared his "understanding" and enthusiastically agreed to the decision.

Heh, do they really think I'm a pushover? Well, they're absolutely right! Chu Xingyu thought. Aloud, he said, "Apologies, everyone. My voice may have gotten a bit loud just now. Please don't mind it."

After announcing the free live stream, Chu Xingyu had expected concert ticket sales to be dismal. After all, everyone loves a freebie. Who would actually pay for tickets when they could watch the concert for free?

But the moment ticket sales began, the entire ticketing website nearly crashed, leaving Chu Xingyu stunned at his computer.

In all his years in the industry, he'd seen some wild things. But he'd never encountered a ticket rush so intense it brought a website to its knees. He even suspected a hacker attack.

Then Chu Xingyu reconsidered. This concert was backed by the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations. No hacker in their right mind would dare target them.

More importantly, Chu Xingyu knew Robin was incredibly popular and had prepared extensively for the ticket launch. Yet even that hadn't been enough.

With no other option, he postponed ticket sales until noon that day and hastily rented a massive number of temporary servers to stabilize the website. When sales finally resumed, nearly a hundred thousand tickets vanished in under three seconds.

"This is insane... absolutely insane..." Chu Xingyu stared blankly at his computer screen, suddenly feeling as if he were witnessing the birth of a miracle—a miracle in the music industry!

Naturally, news of the free live stream had set the internet ablaze:

[Holy crap, is this for real? A free live stream concert? This is too good to be true!]

[It's just a live stream, guys. The experience won't compare to being there in person.]

[Still, this is incredible! I've never heard of a free live stream concert before. My wife is amazing! I love her so much!]

[Stop daydreaming, you perverts! Stay away from my master! I'll bite you! Woof woof woof!]

[Huh?]
