Chapter 11 - THE AFTERMATH

In a Hall of infinite scales , with a floor mosaic of shifting constellations , forming intricate patterns that realign with every cosmic decision made. Above the ceiling an endless void , not dark but radiant with glow of countless galaxies ,each star a flickering witness to divine judgement. The air hummmed with deep and resonant tone ,a sound that vibrates through all existence, reminding the cosmos of the unyielding order that binds them.

The atmosphere and light neither warm or cold but with a perfect balance and casting no shadows . A being on a throne resting her chin on one fist as her starfire eyes flickered with uncharacteristic lethargy. This was Elaris , the goddess of Cosmic Balance in her sanctum that embodies the essence of order , balance and celestial justice. One of the scales momentarily shifted in balance and went back to normal as if in a blink .

"These stupid deties will soon get on my nerves, they keep giving enlightenments to these humans making them potential to cause such momental imbalances , hahaha . Stupid deities, the Cosmos always repairs its balance." Elaris thought to herself as she ignored what had just happened.

What she did not was that this was beyond . In a other two halls that were unattended to by the gods that resided there , the threads of chance in room of the goddess of fate broke and weaved a new pattern but could not be differentiated from what existed earlier and the same happened in a hall where time seemed to move in a fractured pattern .

Vince reached home all looking tired , he found his aunt already for him.

" Vinny , you scared me . What took you so long today did you go for your dangerous games again?" asked aunt Jane . He had no option but to accept he was playing episykros.

This was a dangerous games most especially for those who had not gone through the ability awakening process since it involved injuries like bruises , sprains and broken bones . People with abilities yet we're more sensitive to physical pain , though it didn't last long because it was always played in presence of a healer.

The game was team-based played on a rectangular field with a central dividing line. Each team aimed at advancing the sphaira, a sphere shaped ball made of metal weighing over six mina, a weight enough to crash an abilityless skull if thrown with enough force. The ball could be thrown, carried or wrestled for between players. Players could tackle, push or grapple to gain possession of the sphaira.

Vince had broken a few bones ever since he began playing, since most players had abilities but would limit their people during play , the only reason he was still arrive even after multiple injuries they could quickly be healed by the healer. He would reach home without a single bruise but somehow his aunt used to know what had happened and she told him to stop it but Vincent could stealthily play . He made many friends on the teams and his aunt decided to let him be afterall a healer was there to ensure he heals, experiencing minimal pain .

Vince was feeling so tired he chose to head straight to his room , take a shower and rest . He entered his old tab and opened water but he was surprised, he actually saw water bending as though trying to avoid making contact with him , though this didn't last and after taking a shower he went into a deep slumber.

Not long he felt like his soul leave his body he was back in that expansive space he saw while in the forest , and this time it felt like it was trying to blend with him but his body kept resisting it . Then the huge figure he saw appeared once again , this time closer and more vivid but covering the face with a hood .It raised it's hand to touch him , as the hand came closer the temperature increases and he could feel the pressure. He suddenly woke up , what he did not expect was not to be sweating because he could still feel the heat , it was as though he was being cooked from the inside .

He entered his tab full of water to cool himself and a sizzling sound was produced as he was a hot metal bar. He was asking himself very many questions. Why was he seeing these images as though he was in the expanse of the universe ." Are the gods real, and they are trying to punish me for not believing in?" he asked himself with a slight laughter. " I really don't care about those mfs and they know." What Vince felt for the gods was beyond just disbelief, he hated them for who they were and whatever they did . He realized it was almost morning, and today was the day he returns to school to take the test and be able to join the military training.

It might have been his dream to be part of the military and serve in some conquest or beast destruction war but it was a law for the planet since it was now all under one world government. All youngsters had to gain military training and serve in the military for some time before they retire to their own personal lives.
