Tristan's mood improved when they got him the phone first before the other things.
He smiled happily and thanked the maid before excitedly entering Nita's number on it.
They have not spoken since he left her place.
"Put it away for now, we have to be very fast here". His maid said and looked around warily.
While she spoke her heart beat wildly with fear, she had seen a familiar face among the crowd and that made her heart jump in fear repeatedly.
But seeing the only bodyguard that came with them walking at a close distance made her relax a little bit.
"Why are we rushing?" Tristan grumbled as she pulled him alone.
"Tonight is the mating ceremony and we will leave for the pack house once we return to the mansion," She said in a hurry, her impatience getting pronounced.
"Mating ceremony?" Tristan asked with a frown.
He had heard someone speak of it before but he had never asked more or thought it would happen because he never knew he would be around for long till the Alpha threw him out.
"You know what it is right?".
He nodded slowly because it would be a lie if he said he didn't.
"Good, now let's hurry". She continued.
They walked into a clothing store and Tristan sighed in relief as there were few people around and buying in the store.
Tristan picked clothes carefully as he has always been money conscious, also checking the price tag before taking anything.
"Just take anything you like, the Alpha has an endless pit of money" The maid commented and immediately began picking everything he looked at in a rush.
"No, I don't want that one!" Tristan said and frowned as he noticed she was acting strange.
"We need to go back now, it's not safe here" she whispered with her eyes looking around.
The bodyguard that accompanied them was beginning to notice her restlessness too and moved closer to them.
"Is everything alright?" He asked and looked at Tristan from head to toe.
"I'm fine," Tristan replied, shaking his head.
"Heyyy, You miss me?" A sultry voice said suddenly and they all turned to the direction of the voice and that made all of them stiffened.
Tristan went pale and immediately shrunk back, the sight of Adriana terrified him a lot.
Her yellings had hurt his ears for a while. He would have never thought they would come across her here. It's such an ill luck for them
"Omega, you don't miss me?" Adriana asked again and this time her smile had dimmed.
Tristan remained tight-lipped and only looked down at his feet hoping she would just leave.
Seeing that she was getting ignored, she moved closer and yanked his head up by the hair.
The bodyguard moved forward and ready to save Tristan out of her hands.
"If you dare touch me, I will make sure you die a painful death and your remains are never found!" She said with a glare at him.
Her words intimidated him and back down, the maid didn't even make an attempt and she could only start begging her.
"I asked if you missed me". She asked again while looking into his face.
Tristan blinked rapidly as tears gathered in his eyes from the pain from how she pulled his hair.
He sniffled and struggled to get free.
Seeing that he was starting to cry, she let go and moved back to assess him.
"Is your little secret out already?
I know it must be". She said with a wicked glint in her eyes.
"Did you give him the suppressants I gave you". She turned to the maid to ask and she nodded immediately.
"Good, that means he already found out. I bet he is disgusted by you but too good to say it out" She continued to jeer at him.
Tristan kept his eyes on the ground and refused to look up.
"Suppressants?"
He thought in a panic.
Was that her doing all along?
He had wondered why he had gone into heat despite taking one before bed.
Seeing that he was too scared to look up at her, Adriana bent a little to whisper in his ear.
"That wasn't actually a suppressant. It's just a drug that does the exact opposite of what a suppressant does."
She straightened up and laughed out loud.
Tristan's hands trembled as he realised the meaning of her words.
How could she have done that?.
He wanted to yell and cuss at her but he could not find enough courage to do so as his scalp still sting from the pain she inflicted minutes ago.
"The mating ceremony is tonight right?
It's alright, you both can go ahead and do what you want.
Help me keep him entertained, he gets quite bored easily but I will be back.
I will be back to take back what's mine".
She said and turned around to leave with a smirk on her face.
But, her face distorted as she walked away, she wasn't in fact alright with the mating ceremony but she had no choice but to lay low as her father ordered her to stay away after Alpha Mitch sent a warning.
"That fucking asshole!" She cussed pushing the door angrily and storming off towards the exit.
After her departure the three of them slowly overcame the shock of her words and snapped back to reality.
"Don't pay any attention to her words. The Alpha won't get mated twice and even if he does it won't be her" The maid said in an attempt to console him but that was the least of Tristan's problems.
"Let's go back home" he said softly as he weakly looked at the clothes the maid was holding.
He had believed the Alpha found out the truth naturally but someone else was the mastermind behind it.
He needs to speak with the Alpha.
He thought and put a seal over his emotions threatening to spill.
They drove back to the mansion in total silence and even the new phone didn't get any attention from the sad Omega.
Tristan walked through the front door and immediately knew something was wrong.
All the maids were cleaning up and putting things away.
Gale was in the middle of everything, his eyes shining with rapt attention.
"Where is Mitch?" Tristan approached him carefully and asked. But Gale instead turned to frown at him as if he was a creature that crawled out of a swamp.
