Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Theodore Ashbourne, the heir to the Ashbourne fortune. It was one of the most elite families of Country C. His charisma and family name was more than enough for people to go mad over him. He has everything in him to the heartthrob. But mostly people won't be able to recognise him. Simply because he never gave them chance to know who he was.

Like Luna he had been far away from the hawking eyes of the high society, enjoying the charms of his own work. And it wasn't exactly required of him to be the face of Ashbourne, it was his brother's duty. Among the things they have bonded over this definitely was one. When his brother had renounced every right to the Ashbourne fortune he was forced to step up, to take over the role. Though it never was his. He wasn't the one who had been molded for this. He wasn't pleased with this, but he loved his brother too much to dislike him over this. After everything his brother had been through, after almost loosing him he was more than happy to do this. At this point he couldn't even deny that he was enjoying the Power he had.

He absolutely loved the power to cause disruption in the lives of people who stood against him. And he wasn't exactly sorry for it. Though his actions were more behind the scenes. People didn't know what he was capable of like the Blackthorne's and he didn't mind.

Luna and him had been friends in their high school days, when nobody swoon over him because they didn't know who he was. Luna had not cared, she never did. She became his friend simply because she liked the person he was. After his brother it was only her who had cared for the person he was. Luna has only done more to earn his gratitude and loyalty over the years. So many things, he didn't know how he would repay for most of them.

He had returned 2 years prior to Luna to take over the Ashbourne empire. And though they had never stopped contacting each other, it had been long since he meet her.

Luna was escatic to meet her beloved friend after such a long time. Had she known that it was him , she wouldn't have even let him knock so that she could pull him to a hug that was long overdue.

Theo Ashbourne stood tall with a commanding presence, his lean, athletic build moving with effortless grace. His sharp jawline and high cheekbones gave him a striking, aristocratic look, softened by a pair of intense, deep-set hazel eyes that seemed to read everything around him. His dark, slightly tousled hair framed a face often set in a confident, knowing smile — the kind that could disarm both friend and foe alike. Always impeccably dressed, Theo's tailored suits and subtle, expensive accessories marked him as a man used to power and privilege, yet there was an approachable warmth beneath the polished exterior.

As he was entering announcing his presence, which could already be predicted with the warmth that seeped in with him. Luna ran over to him and leapt into his arms without hesitation, wrapping herself around him, and the moment he caught her, he spun her around effortlessly, a soft smile playing on his lips.

That was how things always had been between them, he always caught her, and she always trusted him to. Among the few people she trusted he was one.

He slowly put her down to look at her more clearly, and put his lips to her forehead to give her a chaste kiss.

It was easier to explain their relationship as romantic to anyone observing , and many had over the years. But only they knew that they never had anything even close to romantic between them. Not at any point.

And it was hard to explain. If it must be 'They were platonic soulmates' summorized them. But only a handful of people knew what meant, what it feels like. They knew it .

She knew what she was capable of, of the hells she would cross, of the sins shs could bear, of the destructions she could cause. But it was only him who had the capability of stopping her. He knew it too. And he stopped her right aypt the line.

He was her moral compass, ensuring that she never crossed the line.

He had such power over him. And he did what was expected of him.

When her life had been threatened, when the accident and near death took a toll on her, it was him who nursed her back to health. He was the only one who had understood her through and through.

It was only him with who she could use as less words as possible and he still understood. She had not known this was possible until she met him.

She knew that it was the same with him, it was also the reason they had bonded over so fastly and easily.

"It has been long love" he said softly. His eyes softened. He was so proud of her, so proud of the women she was, and the woman she is going to be.

He knew the burdens she carried and the pain she suffered, more than anyone else could.

"Indeed Theo, and everything is going to change." He smiled at her words. The determination was obvious in her voice. He knew she wasn't going to falter anymore. He knew she had plans. He was here to do everything it takes.

To be her loyal knight , to put everything she wished into motion. And ensure she don't suffer more than it was necessary.

He had once mourned that he couldn't be there for her once, buy not this time. He would not let such a thing happen this time.

"Grab a seat Theo it's going to take a while." Luna said , her voice icy, while her eyes reflected warmth for Theo.
