I sighed then, rubbing at my face as I finished with my robes and went over to my drawer to pick out the small pouch of coins I'd kept there earlier. It was for her— okay not exactly— but was for the enrollment of her daughter into the pack's school.


Deep down, I knew that Dahlia would have a hard time accepting it so I had come up with a proposal for her. A job I knew she would hardly dismiss. One that I'd convince her into believing I'd cut off the borrowed money from her monthly allowance even though I knew I wouldn't.


I smiled. Things were going just as planned.


A rasp knock on my door snapped me out of my reverie and I looked up expectantly, whilst shifting my robes to appear more presentable. I shouted; "Come in!"
