Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

In one of the sectors located in the eastern corridor, several bodies of guards lay scattered on the ground. Pools of blood flowed, forming red trails leading to a short-haired woman. She brutally killed people in the corridor silently, like an assassin.

She slashed the blade across the body of one of the remaining guards.

The guard staggered, still breathing, and with a trembling body, tried to escape.

However, she who witnessed this did not hurry, she walked after her.

The guard dragged his legs, holding the wound on his side, his expression grim as he endured the pain spreading throughout his body.

Finally, a few seconds later, he could no longer move and fell forward.

She was standing right behind him, glaring at the guard.

"Tell me where he is…" she said, voice cold and steady.

The guard looked at her, filled with anger, and had no intention of answering the woman's words.

He tried to turn his body, which was face down, attempting to counterattack.

The guard aimed his pistol at the woman.

But before he could fire,

With a swift movement,

Swingg…!

She threw his sword, one of the blades piercing the guard's hand that had been holding the pistol.

"Aarghh…!!"

The pistol flew out of his hand, clattering to the floor, and his hand was impaled on the tiles.

She pulled out another sword and lunged forward to end the guard's life.

Schlerk…!

.

.

.

The blade in her hand dripped fresh blood, her gaze was terrifying, and nearly her entire body and clothing were splattered with blood.

She pulled the first sword back from the corpse's hand, then walked away without a moment's hesitation.

In the distance behind her lay the scattered corpses she had defeated.

.

.

.

[RESEARCH SECTOR D-7]

The steel door slid open with a heavy clang. He entered the room. His eyes scanned every corner, observing every detail, searching for clues to find the person he was looking for.

On one of the desks piled with files, there lay a document that caught the woman's attention. She picked it up.

"Hmph… Unit Proxima…?!"

.

.

.

She continued walking through the room. From behind a row of shelves, she faintly saw a reflection of glasses. The woman immediately stopped moving. She shifted her gaze and saw someone hiding there, looking down in fear, but quickly the woman acted, raising her sword again while threatening him.

"Step out… or I'll cut you down where you hide…"

He was suddenly terrified and tried to stay completely still, but his trembling grew worse. Sweat drenched his temples.

She sighed, her frustration clear on her face.

"Tch… You've made your choice. Don't regret it."

She stepped slowly toward the shelves.

The person grew more anxious, trying to retreat deeper into the narrow gap between the shelf and the wall.

As she got close, he quickly reached out, grabbed the collar of the man's lab coat roughly, and pulled him out of hiding. He was a scientist, and he screamed, kicking the air. But the woman slammed him onto the nearest table, pressing her knife against his throat. The tip of the blade pressed against his windpipe, cutting off his breath. The scientist struggled, his eyes bulging.

"P-Please... don't..."

"Quickly… Where is the prisoner…?"

She stepped closer, her gaze unmoving.

"...Talk. I don't have time for your silence."

The man coughed, trying to speak, but only bubbles of saliva came out of his open mouth. The pain and fear were evident in his eyes.

"What? Cat got your tongue...?"

She pressed her sword deeper, allowing a little blood to drip from the small wound in the scientist's throat.

"I asked you where is the prisoner…? Or do you want to end up like your friends lying dead in the corridor, huh…?"

Tears began to flow down the scientist's cheeks.

"I don't know for sure… but maybe he's in S-sector southern corridor of J-4…" His voice was hoarse and barely audible.

"Tell me clearly where that place is…"

"...the experimental room on the third floor of the southern corridor…!"

She narrowed her eyes, glaring intently at the scientist.

The scientist looked completely helpless.

Suddenly, she drew her blade, but before the scientist could breathe a sigh of relief, the woman swung it quickly, causing the scientist to fall flat on his back.

She looked at her gadget. The GPS signal from her target was still not detectable in this area. She muttered to herself for a moment because the building was blocking the GPS signal.

"Tch... this building's blocking the signal. So frustrating..."

After that, she immediately searched for information about Sector J-4 and the main facilities that the scientist had mentioned earlier.

Suddenly, the alarm siren began to sound, deafening her ears and lighting up the room with flashing red lights. It seemed that the security system had been activated.

And she suspected that the bodies in the corridor had been discovered.

"hufft… this just got a lot messier…!"

She moved toward the exit, her sword already gripped tightly. She was ready to attack anyone who dared to block her path.

The steel door that had been open began to close slowly.

In the main control room, Professor Kurokawa stood before a row of monitors flashing incessantly. His fingers tapped his white-bearded chin as he pondered the latest algorithm he had just updated.

He moved toward the glass cabinet, where advanced augmentation components and biological engineering instruments were neatly stored. His wrinkled hands reached for the special bio-adaptive module he had previously mentioned would be used to assist Eisen.

Suddenly, the communication panel lying on the corner table of his room rang loudly.

"Professor…! There's a problem in Sector N-9! We've received reports of an attack by the Eisen subject!" Her assistant's voice sounded panicked and breathless.

Professor Kurokawa immediately issued a voice command into the air, causing a holographic communication projection to appear before him.

"Hmm... What's going on? Give me the details, immediately…!"

"Eisen... he's out of control! He's disabled several scientists in the special laboratory and is now in Sector M, brutally attacking the guards…!"

The professor watched the CCTV footage showing the horrifying scene,

"Professor, should we execute him this time…!"

Professor Kurokawa paused for a moment, ignoring the tremor in his assistant's voice.

"Hmmm... Eizen... What's wrong with you…?"

The silhouette of Eisen could be seen moving to attack the guards in the corridor. The camera shifted focus, now capturing the figure more clearly.

"...Ah… It appears your system has suffered severe damage, Eizen…!"

He had seen enough footage to know that Eisen, his most perfect project, was dangerously out of control.

"Professor, what should we do…?"

"Hmmm… Very well. Assistant, alert the guards to assist me immediately. And ensure no one causes him serious harm before I get to Eizen! Just incapacitate him, understood? Keep him alive!"

A static response was heard, followed by the assistant's voice, which was now more controlled.

"okay… professor...!"

Professor Kurokawa looked back at the rack for a moment and grabbed his special equipment bag, then quickly rushed out of the control room.

"...Hmmm... What has actually possessed you, Eizen?"

After successfully escaping the disgusting lab, I now faced a new problem. The corridor in front of me was filled with security forces lined up to block my path, fully armed.

"Surrender, you anomaly… or we'll capture you by force…"

I ignored the warning. Despite knowing this would be difficult, I immediately charged at them.

"Tchh… you're really stubborn…punk…"

They immediately opened fire. I tried to maneuver, running as fast as I could toward the nearest wall that could protect me. Bullets struck the wall behind me, chipping away at the concrete and leaving dark, gaping holes.

Seeing a small opening as some of them reloaded, I darted forward again, moving swiftly. A guard in front of me tried to block me, swinging the butt of his rifle. I ducked quickly, then kicked his knee hard.

Bruakk…!

The guard fell to the ground, clutching his broken knee. My right fist struck his jaw.

I didn't stop there, continuing to move toward the next security perimeter around me.

They didn't give up. This time, several guards advanced from close range, armed with stun gloves and stun batons. I jumped, dodging the attacks aimed at me. Quickly, I charged the nearest guard again.

There was a little resistance, making me a little overwhelmed. However, my speed began to increase. I managed to knock him down, immediately grabbing the automatic rifle from his waist. Without wasting any time, I moved again to avoid the attacks of the other guards.

One by one, I began to take down the troops, and now it was better if I created an opening to escape.

"Damn, he's very agile…!" said one of the guards who saw my actions.

"Tchh… don't let him escape…!"

Rifle after rifle with automatic bullets continued to rain down on me.

However, I could faintly sense the bullets and managed to avoid them all.

I didn't want to get caught again, so I quickly fled the area before reinforcements arrived to cover them.

I didn't expect my body to still be able to move this fast. Every muscle felt light, and my reflexes were razor sharp. I had a few scratches from the last fight, but I felt energized instead of tired. Maybe this is what they call an adrenaline rush.

"Hey, there's the Eisen anomaly subject…!"

Then, a voice from behind broke the silence of the corridor.

"Oh, wait...!"

"Just shoot the non-vital parts! The professor just said that...!"

"Ugh... shit... so they want me alive, huh…!"

I was hit with several bullets again. This time, they went for my legs and arms. I just kept moving forward, turning and jumping. Automatic bullets whizzed past my head, scraping the walls and sending debris flying.

I decided to move again to get away from them all.

And when I was in a good spot, I let off a few shots from my automatic rifle while keeping a fast pace. Sparks flew from the barrel of my weapon. With precise shots, the bullets managed to take down several of them at once.

But that wasn't all. I shot at a few small reconnaissance drone robots, destroying their red eyes, and their bodies fell with sparks flying.

But then, not long after, a bunch of heavily armed guards showed up. There was an elite guard unit in robot-like combat suits standing firmly in the middle of the hallway. Their jet-black armored bodies reflected the light. He had heavy weapons attached to his arms, and his helmet had special glasses that glowed a dim blue.

"What the hell… what now..."

The elite guard raised his hand, and a small projector in his glasses instantly changed to emit a green light. He quickly looked me over.

"Target Eisen locked..." A heavy robotic voice echoed from the elite soldier's helmet.

"Heeh… this just got a whole fuckin' lot more interesting, you damn soldier..."

I was confronted with a challenge. Maybe I was too arrogant, or maybe it was a form of resignation because there was no way to escape his attack.

I ran over to him without even thinking. My leg muscles tensed up, pumping out strength. I took hold of the automatic rifle and tried to aim for his head.

Vrrt…!!

But.

Out of nowhere, this elite guard came flying at me at full speed. Moving quickly. He was moving too quickly for me to predict his moves. Even my fast reflexes weren't fully working.

It was a hard impact. I didn't see the blow coming, only felt its brutal force.

I was thrown backward and slammed into the corridor wall with a thud. I felt a dull pain in my back. I felt nauseous. I started bleeding from my nose right away.

Man, this is really painful. I tried to get up, but my body felt numb.

"Tch...That bastard moves like lightning and hits like a truck…!"

I narrowed my eyes and took in the elite guard. He was a real threat, not just a terrifying pile of scrap metal. I had to stay alert.

The elite guard didn't waste any time. After I got up, he took a step forward, and the floor shook with each step. His arm was up, and this time, a big barrel on his wrist started to hum.

"Damn..."

I was fired upon with an automatic rifle that had special missiles.

suzzz…!

There were small explosions from the missiles, and they left scorched marks on the walls of the corridor.

I took off running, letting the missiles go off behind me, and I felt a slight wave of heat that burned my skin.

I couldn't take the elite guard in a fight. The last hit had shown that. I needed something. Something that could stop its system. I had to hit its vital point quickly so it couldn't move that damn iron armor. My mind raced, searching for a weakness in the thick armor.

"Joint...? Sensor...?"

But before I could think further, the elite guard quickly darted back toward me. Their speed was scary, almost invisible to the naked eye. I could only dodge again, twisting my body, letting their metal fists slice through the empty air.

I took a step back to give us some space. My breathing was heavy, and my lungs felt like they were on fire. My body was sore, but I had to keep my eyes on the prize. I needed some space to think.

.

.

.

Then, out of the blue, I heard another loud noise from behind me.

"You're an anomaly, go away..."

Duum...!

A big bullet hit my back.

SCRRTTT…!!!

My body jerked, convulsing. I felt an electric shock run through my body, and it was pretty intense. My muscles went into spasms, and I couldn't move. I felt a sharp pain, like thousands of needles burning from within.

I hit the ground, trying not to lose my balance. But then my vision started getting blurry.

"Fuck…! fuck…! fuck…!!"

"This is ridiculous. I've been caught again by this damn corporation..."

I groaned as I tried to get up, feeling the pain.

"C'mon on… get up…!"

But the pain didn't get better, it just got worse. Then he shot me again, and I went down and out.

Bruak...!

.

.

.

I could hear the footsteps of the guards behind me getting closer, and they were laughing. They seemed to think this was over.

"Finally, this anomaly is down..." one of them said.

.

.

.

"Darkness..."

I felt something strange again.

This atmosphere.

It was totally dark, just like how I felt before I entered that strange white world.

"Hmmm..."

But.

This felt more intense, more serious.

This time, I felt my blood pounding in my head, and there was something like metal debris churning inside it. My body parts, thanks to Corpo's cursed modifications, got going right away, and I felt the adrenaline kick in.

Wutzzz…!!

.

.

.

"hufft… He's very agile… it looks like Professor Kurokawa's been working on something pretty hush-hush," said another.

"His presence could be very threatening to this place. Professor Kurokawa needs to explain all this ASAP and put an end to his wild ambition…"

"Hey guys, get this anomaly to Professor Kurokawa's lab ASAP…" One of the guard leaders gave his men a signal.

Before I knew it, a few folks there tried to carry me away. One of them looked at me for a second, his eyes full of curiosity and caution.

Instantly, my highly sensitive danger sensor pulsed, and I could clearly sense the threat around me, even in my half-conscious state.

My eyes opened again quickly. I turned my head and glared at the guard who was staring at me.

It was clear he was surprised.

Ssszzz…!!

And I got back up really quickly. My body moved away from the hands that were about to carry me.

The guards there were stunned.

"Hah… no way ..."!

I tried to stand tall, feeling the incredible recovery after my entire body had been completely shattered.

The electric shock that had paralyzed me seemed to be absorbed into my body, giving me extra strength. The energy flowed, making every numb cell feel alive again.

The people there started to question what they were seeing.

"Ha! He's back up...!"

"Eisen... what kind of person is he...?"

"No way..."

They all looked panicked, taking a few steps back.

My body felt incredibly light, lighter than before. My mind was working overtime, trying to make sense of it all. I kept an eye on every guard, every weapon, and every possible threat.

"Tchh... I've lost my patience... damn anomaly... this time I'll finish you," the elite guard shouted, their voices trembling.

"fire...! Kill him...!"

A barrage of bullets once again rained down on me. But this time, I moved with even greater precision. Every move was a sign of what was to come, and every action was spot on when it came to the threat. The bullets missed, just barely missing me. I jumped, dodging every bullet, and quickly spotted a small opening. I slid over their heads, landing behind their formation.

I smiled a little.

"You'll all regret this..."

The elite guard who saw me quickly moved to attack me with quick moves.

I kept dodging their hits, and this time I easily avoided their attacks.

"Ugh...damn it…!"

He began to doubt everything, his anger boiling over as he aimed his missile rifle at me.

"Target Eisen. Priority: Elimination," the robotic voice boomed.

I took off running, evading every attack. My modified limbs felt like they were conducting electricity, pumping out strength I had never felt before.

I spun through the air, dodging the relentless barrage of missiles. The missiles hit the walls behind me, and they were so powerful that the whole corridor shook. Concrete pieces and sparks were flying everywhere. I landed easily next to the elite guard.

He was stunned by what he was seeing.

"Tch… too slow..."

The elite guard grew more enraged, charging toward me again, swinging his armored fists. I step back, letting the fist strike the air beside my head. The force of the swing alone is enough to make my hair flutter. This is a brutal physical battle against machine armor superior in strength.

"fuck you, I'll kill you soon…!"

His final punch only grazed my body, as I managed to dodge it in a split second. I landed on the floor, far enough away from him, and stood up, glaring at him.

I paused for a moment, then something strange appeared in my pupils, and my eyes started to glow dimly. The change in me was obvious. My vision now showed a holographic panel: lines of data, codes, and system commands appeared in the air. I could see everything. It was like the world was just one big wave of information.

"Huh... the heck is this…?"

I had no idea how, but I could read and control it. I looked back at the elite guard. I saw it. It's internal data. It's the security protocols that are the problem. It's got all its weak points. I had no idea how I could do that. It was totally beyond reason. I saw various command options, like:

Identify threat

Self-enhancement protocol

Check system log

Access data

Core settings

I had a bit of a hard time using the holographic panel. At first, it felt a bit confusing, but after a few eye movements, I started to get the hang of it. It felt like I only needed a little time to get the hang of it.

"Wow...this is all so fascinating..."

One of the guards shouted.

"Tetsuro! Just be careful and don't let your guard down…!"

"Shut up fuck up... I'll kill him soon," the elite guard responded with a growl.

The elite guard moved quickly, running back toward me.

I watched his movements, reading every one of them, and even their speed data appeared on my navigation screen.

He was ready to jump on me with a wild.

I tried to pick the right option to counter him. There were a lot of commands to choose from, and I didn't have much time to try them all. But I noticed a better navigation option, and I went for it right away.

"Shut down the system."

"Die, you bastard…" the elite soldier shouted.

Wuzzz!!… Zeezzz…!!

Instantly-

He was a few meters in front of me, and it looked like he was having trouble seeing.

His combat armor stopped suddenly. His control goggles flickered once. Then, suddenly, everything went silent.

Bzzztt…!

What the hell is going on? Why did this armor suddenly shut down…?"

His body froze for a second when the gravity technology in his armor also shut down, making it so he couldn't handle the weight of the iron armor. He slumped forward, hitting the floor of the hallway.

Bruak…!

There was a cloud of dust, and the sound of the impact filled the hallway, which was now quiet.

"Damn it...! What happened to his armor...?" one of the guards shouted, sounding shocked and angry.

I was gasping for breath, my heart was racing, and I was pretty shocked by what had just happened.

That advanced armor, weighing so much, collapsed with just a command on the holographic screen.

"What... did I... succeed...?"

The guard who saw the incident got more and more confused. They were standing there, totally still.

"Who is he... he's not an ordinary subject...!

"Tch... quickly send more elite troops to capture that anomaly...!!" one of them said again.

.

.

.

I just ignored them. My mind was racing.

"What's going on with my body…?"

My eyes still emitted holographic navigation. I could see every digital object and piece of information about the people around me. This new power was fascinating.

This place had a huge impact on me. They had changed my body. I'm not sure when or how it happened, but it felt like I was starting to like the power they'd given me.

I smiled, feeling a bit cold.

"Alright then… if any of you wanna take a shot, step the hell up."

"Let's see what this new body can really do."

One of the leaders, who had ordered his men to capture me alive, growled.

"Ugh... he's getting a bit full of himself."

His face went red with anger.

"We have to be careful! He seems way more dangerous than before..."

"I'll cripple you until you regret it, you crazy guy," the other guard shouted.

"Tch... get ready... You corporate slaves..."

I gave a little laugh, ready to face whatever they threw at me.

Shots were fired again. Bullets rained down on me, but this time, I dodged them with ease. I could read their shooting patterns, predict the trajectory of the bullets even before they pulled the trigger. Every now and then, I'd catch sight of data from these folks:

Things like heart rate, stress level, type of weapon, and how much ammo is left.

I tried to read the data one by one, gathering information like a predator studying its prey.

A guard tried to shoot me from the side. I think a red outline appeared on his head, showing a weak point. I moved quickly, dodging the bullets, and got right up in his face to land a solid punch to the temple.

"That's a good one…!"

They fell still.

"...my punching power seems to have increased drastically…!"

"Damn it…!!" a commander shouted, gripping his rifle tightly.

It looked like the other guard seemed to receive calls from other corridors and rushed to inform their colleagues.

"This is bad... it looks like the elite guards in the adjacent corridors have been blocked by another anomaly..."

"...hah… Another anomaly…?! What's really going on here…?"

.

.

.

I still didn't really get what this power was, but one thing was clear: I had the power of a god's eyes, and I could control every object in this place.

I tried a different approach right away. The data on the holographic display processed further, scanning the devices connected to the guards. I zeroed in on a particular command, and in the blink of an eye, I found the option to disable all their devices. I picked it right away.

"bingo…!"

The vision goggles worn by several guards immediately started spitting out sparks and shut down completely, leaving them instantly blinded by smoke.

The rest of the guard forces were stunned, and some even dropped their weapons in panic and tried to flee.

I grinned a little as I watched them get destroyed, which was a surprise.

This ability is truly amazing. They made a mistake by giving me this power for free.

But then, not long after, I felt something unpleasant. My hands started shaking.

"shit…!"

It seems like using this ability too much is weakening my body. A warning flashes on the screen in my peripheral vision:

Critical Power.

"Arghht..."

I can't keep doing that. My main goal is to escape, not mess around with this new power. I've got to keep moving.

There was gunfire and attacks in the other corridors. The woman, armed with two swords, stood her ground against the guard forces storming in from the main door. They were top-notch elite guards wearing cutting-edge armor, similar to the kind I'd encountered before.

She moved like a shadow, breaking through their formation with some pretty deadly moves.

The flash of sword blades and the crackling of gunfire created a tense atmosphere. One small mistake would mean death for her. But she was too quick to be underestimated. She jumped, spun around, and aimed for a guard's vital area. Her sword went through the elite guard's armor and cut off his head. There was blood all over the room. The guard next to her hadn't even had time to pull the trigger of his rifle.

She kept moving and dodging bullets that hit the wall behind him. She managed to grab the next guard and attack again quickly.

Zwingg…!!

"Damn it! Who is she... why is there something wrong here again... we have to delay helping the guards in the next corridor...!"

Those still standing tried to form a more coordinated formation. They fired aimed shots, forcing her to keep moving and seek cover behind the shattered remains of a table.

"This is such a hassle. I'm seriously considering killing all of you."

The elite guard surrounded her, blasting her with automatic missiles, while another guard fired their rifles at her.

"Bang…!"

A bullet hit her shoulder, and she let out a quiet groan. Fresh blood immediately soaked through her robe.

"Damn it..."

It looked like her had made a mistake that might've been a fatal one. If she doesn't act quickly, she'll be finished.

She kept fighting and dodging all the attacks, ignoring the pain. At the same time, her hand reached for the comm-link in her ear.

"...Ken. Did you finish your task…?" Her voice sounded tense.

On the other end, her partner's voice in another sector sounded pretty annoyed.

"Yumi, I told you not to cause a scene here. Now guard's tighter, and we've lost our clean exit…"

"hufft… I don't think I did anything wrong..."

"Sigh... I'll find another route to get you out. Just don't overextend. If things get too rough, fall back and find cover."

But their conversation was disturbed.

From behind him, there was a shout.

"Hey! You there!" The voice was followed by hurried footsteps.

"Sigh... looks like they've found me…"

He whispered again, sounding anxious.

"Hold on, Yumi. I've got a similar problem here. I'll regroup with you once I've cleared them out…!"

"He... em..."

A deep voice boomed from behind him.

"Don't move! Who are you?"

He grinned, like he was about to do something way worse than what he did to the woman earlier.

.

.

.

She dipped her body and landed perfectly on the tiles, just as the last attack missed its target. She didn't waste any time, her gaze immediately sweeping toward the guards. There, she was surrounded by countless enemies, forming a deadly maze.

Her sword went up again, and its glow reflected the dim light.

Her eyes narrowed as she observed the surrounding elite guards. Her lips curled slightly, and she had a pretty, scary look on her face.

"hufft… I'm not a big fan of playing games..." I'll wrap this up quickly…!"

...

I kept going, but I was totally spent. Every step felt like a burden, but I pushed myself to keep going.

I tried to recover while running slowly, wondering if my body had a hidden recovery system.

I activated the holographic panel in front of me again and started messing around with the visual data. I looked for more detailed info about my body. The info on my heart rate and overall health status popped up right away. The numbers confirmed it: my stamina was extremely low. My energy levels were dropping quickly.

"I don't even know if this damn data's accurate..."

"...but shit… those numbers are way too low."

.

.

.

I came back to this big hallway with a bunch of large windows. I looked outside. The glass windows, which might have once offered a view, were now completely sealed by thick steel shields.

I can't try to break this glass with my new abilities.

.

.

.

Out of nowhere, the figure responsible for all this came back into view right in front of me. Professor Kurokawa was standing in the middle of the hallway in front of me. He was with two elite guards, ready to attack. A few regular guards stood with him. Instantly, the air felt tense.

The old man's gaze made it clear he was disappointed in me.

"Please… Stop, Eizen…!!" The old man's voice boomed through the hallway.

"Don't make this harder than it already is… just stand down."

I snorted. My emotions got the better of me. I really wanted to beat up that old guy and all his men.

My body wasn't fully healed yet, and I was pretty tired, but I had to get ready to fight again. I clenched my fists, feeling every muscle tense, ready to charge and destroy them all.

"I'm done with all this bullshit. I know the whole damn truth now, you bastard!"

"Heah, Eizen, you lost your mind…?"

"You shouldn't be doing this… This isn't who you used to be…!"

"Tch... the person you knew... huh..." I smiled bitterly.

"You're the real killers here, murdering innocent people...!"

I got really angry.

"The people in that disgusting lab, you keep innocent people's bodies in barrels to play with their lives. And unfortunately, you brainwash them for some kind of project to save humanity... holy shit…"

"And if I don't get out of here, you'll definitely use my body for your crazy project, huh, bastards...!"

The old man saw the panicked looks on the staff's faces. He looked back at me

"Huh... well, it looks like your memory's pretty messed up," he said, sounding pretty regretful.

"I'll reset your consciousness, Eizen..."

"Enough of your nonsense, you old bastard... I'm sick of all this..."

I was ready to strike, lowering my body and releasing all the emotions bottled up inside.

But it looks like Professor Kurokawa might've seen it coming. His eyes were on me, and he was pressing a controller he had.

And sure enough, when the old man pressed a button on the controller.

Instantly, my body went rigid. My brain felt like it had been struck by lightning, the holographic system in my vision flickered chaotically, the data became blurry, then shattered into random fragments.

"Ugh...damn it…!!"

Then, out of nowhere, this excruciating pain hit me. It hurt more than being hit by a stun gun. It wasn't just physical pain, but a sharp, piercing sensation that started in my head, as if something had been abruptly switched off. I was thrown backward and crashed to the floor.

Brrr...!

"I shouldn't have done this to you, Eizen..."

I tried to say something, but my throat felt closed, and I could only make a quiet noise.

Now, I could only hear his crazy ramblings. The professor knelt down and looked me in the eye.

"You already knew how to unleash that power before I even told you..."

"You shouldn't be using it like this..."

I struggled to fight back, but my body wouldn't obey.

"What the hell do you mean, you old bastard...?"

"Hey, Eizen, don't forget you're supposed to be the poster boy for hope…"

"But it seems like this isn't perfect yet..."

I felt a surge of anger.

"I wasn't anyone's creation. I wasn't your experiment…"

I wanted to scream, to vomit all the hatred with all my strength.

"Damn it…!"

"I expected too much... I have no choice but to do this to you again, Eizen..."

When I heard the worst threat, I got even more angry. I tried even harder to release all this pain.

"Ugh…!"

But before the professor could say anything else—

CCTTT...!!

A shadow moved quickly, almost like a ghost, gliding with barely there movements. It came from the other corridor.

In the blink of an eye, several of Professor Kurokawa's guards had fallen. There was blood all over the place, and they crumpled to the ground without making a sound.

The woman—

She came out of the smoke and dust, her sword covered in blood, her eyes had a dangerous look. The woman swung her sword, wiping the blood off its sharp blade, then glared at Professor Kurokawa.

Her presence instantly changed the vibe in the corridor.

Professor Kurokawa looked at the woman who had just shown up. His eyes widened in surprise. He didn't expect to see her here.

"Hmmm... who is that...?" His voice was hoarse.

"tell me… where is he…?"

Professor Kurokawa let out a little chuckle, ignoring the woman's question.

"I don't know about you, but Remarkable... You must be one of those rumored creations, huh? Impressive."

There was something interesting in his voice, like he was looking at a masterpiece.

The woman wasn't in the mood for jokes. She grabbed her sword, the steel blade reflecting the light. She was a real threat.

"Guards, be careful!" Professor Kurokawa shouted, his voice serious again.

"Take down that intruder first. Alert all the elite guards, she's too dangerous for you all to take down…"

The rest of the guards were now on alert, their guns raised, ready to disable her.

"Tch..."

She charged at the guards again. The battle started up again. There was blood in the air as her two blades cut through the defenses.

They had a fierce battle, but it was obvious who was winning—the woman was dominating. The guards couldn't keep up with her speed and agility. She was a killing machine.

She took it to the next level, beating her opponents one by one. She killed her enemies in cold blood, cutting their necks, splitting their chests, and stabbing them in the heart with lightning speed. The guard team was totally helpless.

One by one, the guard team fell quickly.

She walked calmly toward the remaining guards. They were all terrified, their faces pale with fear. It was impossible to fight her. The woman stopped in front of them, the blade of her sword dripping blood onto the floor. She was like the angel of death.
