Lucien thought he saw wrong for a moment. But it was there as he saw it.
Quest Failure: Destruction of the Real World.
'What is that supposed to be? A joke?'
Such a joke was very expensive. How could a quest failure in a game destroy the real world? It was a very funny joke.
But then again, maybe he was overthinking it—maybe the game's perspective of the real world. And there could be a fake world. The Cradle World could be a fake world for all he knew.
So, he decided to exhale and not overthink what he was seeing.
Gayanna's eyes, however, were on him, waiting for a response. She was slightly taller than he was, so her eyes were leveled a bit lower.
Lucien, pressed for a response by her gaze, eventually—after exhaling—looked at her.
"Can I have maybe more time to think about this?"
Gayanna frowned and glared at him.
"You are going to refuse?"
"What? No?!"
"Then what are you going to think about? I didn't ask you to marry me, did I?"
Lucien's face reddened.
