Chapter 13 - Magic Shop

In the three days since his rebirth, Stephen not only fully grasped the magical knowledge left by the Hammerhead, but also reviewed the information about this world in the Hammerhead Sea. However, Stephen didn't pay much attention to some useless parts, such as the former useless Hammerhead who had secretly regarded the city Lord's daughter, Effia, as his dream lover and even hid her portrait under his bed.

There are still some rather sordid things that Stephen is even less interested in...

Debbie, however, clearly didn't pay much attention to the fact that Stephen suddenly didn't recognize her dream lover. As mentioned earlier, although this girl was petite in stature, her nerves were quite thick and she was in perfect harmony with her fierce style as a giant swordsman...

Similarly, Debbie also laughed off the fact that the hammerhead had secretly hidden the portrait of Effia under the bed and daydreamed about it. Almost every man and even a few women in the entire city of Stan regard Effia as their idol. Effia's popularity is so high that ordinary girls don't even have the feeling of jealousy. Not to mention that as a fifth-level swordsman genius, Debbie has a vague admiration for her.

It's understandable that one's future husband secretly admires the other.

In fact, there were also several portraits of Effia hidden under Debbie's bed...

Outside the restaurant window, as Stephen watched Effia walk by with a heroic air, he withdrew his strange thoughts. Effia was out of reach for his current status. More importantly, having experienced that incident in his previous life, his immunity to beautiful girls had greatly increased. Excluding the influence of the hammer, At most, he treated this Miss Effia as a dream idol and daydreamed about it just like most men do when they see pretty girls...

Well, I wonder if the portrait with the hammerhead hidden can still be found?

After spending eight silver coins on a sumptuous meal at the Moran Flower Hotel, Stephen and Debbie left contentedly and headed for the Magic Hut.

All the way, Debbie, carrying her huge sword, kept chattering to Stephen about the bright prospects of the future: "Were those magic scrolls really carved by Hammerhead yourself?" You're even better than my dad. At your rate, we'll get rich in the future. One scroll will net forty copper coins, ten scrolls will make four silver coins, one hundred scrolls will make forty silver coins, and one thousand scrolls will make four gold coins... Life can't be too happy.

The sales of magic scrolls have always been poor. Even if I can carve them out, it's still uncertain whether they can be sold. Stephen said, sweating a little.

It all depends on human effort. We still have a hundred gold coins in our hands, don't we? Debbie said nonchalantly. She was in a good mood. "By the way, hammer, do you have anything you want? I'll make an exception and buy it for you today because you've done a great job."

"..." Stephen was speechless. Girl, the one hundred gold coins you have in hand are yours... No, it was earned back. Don't you think it's presumptuous to say this?

However, Stephen had no extra thoughts. He didn't know whether it was due to the three days of being together day and night and sharing hardships, or the influence of the memories left by the hammer, that he subconsciously regarded this little girl as his own relative and sister. This feeling was very comfortable and warm.

He sized up the various shops on both sides of Stardust Street. When he saw one of them, his eyes lit up: "Debbie, buy me a few magic books."

Magic is so interesting!

Now, Stephen has only mastered five of the thirty-two magic characters. He can't wait to learn the remaining ones. This feeling is just like when Stephen first came into contact with programming languages and couldn't wait to master all of them.

Using his hacking skills, he believes that as long as he masters all the magic characters, he can release any kind of curse.

One can even create spells by oneself!

Stephen said he couldn't wait.

Do you want magic books? Ok. Let's go and buy magic books. I'll buy you as many as you want! Debbie said with a grand expression.

Stephen was immediately taken aback. Debbie was usually called thrifty and frugal in her daily life, and stingy in other words. How could she be so generous today? Is this still that little junior sister who wouldn't even add a few more drops of sesame oil when making clear soup noodles?

"Hehe..." Debbie suddenly gave a malicious smile. "Hammerhead, it seems you have a great talent for engraving magic scrolls. Let's buy a few more books later to study the engraving methods of other magic scrolls. Our magic shop won't be too prosperous in the future."

Stephen: "..."

Well, this is my little junior sister who, after making too much noodles, would go all out to eat them all up and not waste a single bit...

The bookstore Stephen saw was called Kara's Magic Bookstore. In his original memory, Stephen knew that this bookstore was probably the largest in the entire city of Stan and the only one where he could buy magic books.

After leading Debbie into this bookstore, Stephen was immediately drawn to several rows of bookshelves. It was noon and there was not a single customer or staff member in the restaurant. It seemed that the bookstore owner was not worried that someone would secretly take things away. In fact, this bookstore was located on Stardust Avenue and was the only one in Stan City that sold magic books. This was enough to show the energy of the bookstore owner. I'm afraid there is no one who dares to steal books at all.

Stephen swept through rows of bookshelves and saw that they were densely filled with all kinds of books. Several large bookshelves were divided into categories such as "Minstrel Travelogues", "Swordsman Biographies", and "Ancient History". Stephen browsed through each book one by one, and his eyes suddenly fixed on a voluminous work called "The Encyclopedia of the Continent of Egendas" on the "Ancient History" category bookshelf.

Without hesitation, he took down this large volume.

The entire book weighs at least two pounds, with a gold-embossed leather cover and thousands of pages densely packed. It tells a wide variety of things about the history, culture, races, geography, species and so on of the continent of Egendas.

With this book, Stephen can at least have the most direct understanding of the continent he has been reborn on.

"Encyclopedia?" Debbie followed behind Stephen and was greatly surprised to see him take down such a big piece. "Hammer, aren't you the least interested in these things?"

If Hammerhead were interested in these, I wouldn't have to buy books to read by myself...

Stephen slandered in his heart and explained with a smile, "I'm a little interested in these now. Just buy them and have a look."

"Oh..." Ok.

Debbie glanced at the price at the back of the big volume. In the past, she definitely wouldn't have readily agreed to Stephen's request. But now, aren't we rich? Even she looked at Stephen and asked, "Hammer, do you want any other books?"

I'll go and have a look at the innermost bookshelf. Stephen pointed inside the bookstore. There was a small bookshelf there, but this bookshelf was definitely the most precious place in the entire bookstore because the books placed on it were magic books.

"All right then. You go and have a look. I'll check out the swordsman biographies section over there." Debbie said this and took the big volume from Stephen's hand. From this, it was clear how understanding the little girl was. She was afraid that the book would be too heavy and wear out the hammer...

Watching the little girl walk away with a huge sword weighing over a hundred pounds and a two-pound book under her arm, Stephen first silently sighed a few times, saying that the tomboy from the previous life was too weak to follow. Only then did he turn and walk towards the innermost bookshelf.

The bookshelf is right next to the innermost wall of the bookstore. There is also a staircase leading upstairs beside it. I wonder if it is also filled with all kinds of books or something else.

"Analysis of Magic Principles"

"Casual Talk on Wind Elements"

"Mysterious Connections among Basic Magical Elements"

The Origin of Magic

"Summary of Basic Attack Spells"

...

One by one, there were numerous books about magic. Stephen looked at them carefully and finally fixed his gaze on the two books placed in the bottom box.

"Intermediate Magic Language"

"Advanced Magic Language"

"These are exactly the two books I'm looking for!" Stephen, with a look of delight on his face, pulled out the two books from below. It was unknown how long it had been since anyone touched these books, and they were already covered with dust. Just as Stephen wiped the dust off the pages, he suddenly heard a series of footsteps coming down the stairs beside them.

Turning his head, Stephen saw a pair of long and beautiful legs coming down.

Those legs are very beautiful, giving people a feeling of being full of elasticity and firmness. It seems as if one can imagine a tall and sexy beauty walking down gracefully, so charming and alluring, except...

These legs are green.

This is a female orc.
