Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Mo Han’s Past (The Voice Returns Part 2)

Both of them relaxed themselves, and then... the story began.

"So, first of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Mo Han.

I am not from your race of humans — nor am I a mortal."

"Wait! So are you saying you're... immortal or something!?" Shen Hao asked in shock.

"Yes. 'Immortal' is a level in the multiversal power tier system," Mo Han replied calmly.

"So what are you exactly?" Shen Hao asked, wide-eyed.

"I'm a being who channels the void energy of the universe — condensing it, shaping it, giving it structure — and with that, I can create powerful attacks and many other things. And there are infinitely more beings like me, all doing this to increase their powers."

Shen Hao was listening very carefully, stunned.

Although he couldn't fully believe everything he was hearing, but after all the strange things he'd experienced in the past year... how could he ignore it?

Not to mention the blue ball of light that flew out of his chest, transformed into a 75-to-80-year-old man, and was now talking to him in his room.

"Ahh... I didn't get most of the stuff you just said," Shen Hao admitted, "but it sure sounded cool!"

"Haaaa…" Mo Han sighed with slight irritation.

Then he continued:

"Okay, look kid — I've been living on this planet since before even 100 humans had been born. And back then, I found a boy around your age who was suitable for my plans. So I did with him exactly what I've done with you: I entered his body.

Once I had stored up enough energy, I began to communicate with him — just like I'm doing now.

Eventually, I took him in as my student and began teaching him the basic, low-level techniques I knew. Back then, the DNA of the human race was at least 130% weaker than it is today. With every generation, DNA evolves and strengthens itself. That is a golden, unbreakable law of the universe.

So I started teaching him. And after some time, he began teaching others — his friends and family.

I even taught him how to extend his lifespan, and more. After fifty years of Earth time, he formed a group. He passed on the teachings, and soon, more and more people began to practice, gain powers, extend their lifespans, and explore more stuff.

This continued for several hundred years.

But due to limited DNA and intelligence, his evolution eventually stopped. He could no longer advance... and, like all mortals, his time ran out. He aged — and died.

Those who followed the path I taught him… they are the ones you read about in that book yesterday.

They are now known as...

'Cultivators.'

So, in a way, you could say that I am the progenitor of cultivation itself.

And yes...

You can also call me...

A cultivator."
