Chapter 70 - Ch-70 "Eyes Upon the Unknowable"

The grand halls of the divine court glowed with ethereal light, as pillars of mist spiraled into an endless sky. One by one, angels, divine emissaries, and spirits took their places, summoned by a command none dared refuse.

At the center, Julius — god of South Ryehem — stood tall, his expression grim and unyielding.

When the last of them arrived, a heavy silence fell.

Then, Julius spoke.

"From this moment forth," his voice echoed across the chamber, "our primary focus will be on a single individual."

A ripple of surprise passed through the gathered angels and spirits.

"The boy named Kazuki."

Whispers filled the room.

Julius raised a hand and the murmuring ceased.

"We will watch his every move. Observe his actions, study the way he deals with his enemies, and carefully track which side he chooses in every conflict. Most importantly…" his gaze sharpened, "we must attempt to understand how that boy's mind functions. Every decision he makes, every word he speaks — analyze them. Search for his strengths, and more crucially, his weaknesses."

The angels exchanged wary glances. None had ever heard Julius issue such a decree for a mortal child.

Julius turned, pointing directly at a silver-haired angel standing respectfully at the forefront — Levi, the one tasked with watching over South Ryehem.

"Levi."

Levi bowed low. "Yes, Lord Julius."

"Your attention must fall primarily upon Kazuki. Do not neglect the rest of South Ryehem, but ensure that your eyes never leave him. Report every anomaly, no matter how small. Understood?"

"As you command, my lord."

Another voice spoke up from the assembly — Sneha, the vice-president of the court and mother to Elsa. She stepped forward cautiously, bowing her head.

"Forgive me, Lord Julius… but what is it you see in that child? Why does he warrant such caution from you?"

The entire court held its breath, waiting.

Julius's expression darkened, his voice quieter now, but no less intense.

"Because he is not a child."

Sneha's eyes widened.

"Not a child…? Then what—"

"He isn't even truly human, at least not in the way we understand it." Julius's words sent a chill through the divine gathering. "What I can tell you is this — Kazuki is a being beyond our comprehension, hiding inside a human body. I cannot explain what he is yet… but what I do know is that the natural order of fate itself bends around him."

The hall fell utterly silent.

Even the ever-composed angels averted their eyes, unease settling in the room like a fog.

Sneha remained speechless, struggling to process what she had just heard.

Julius exhaled deeply, his gaze faraway.

"He is something we must either control… or prepare to confront. One day, his actions will decide the fate of not just South Ryehem… but perhaps all realms."

And with those grim words, the council of heaven remained in uneasy silence, the weight of their god's decree pressing upon them.
