When Adam awakened, he was no longer in a void but rather in the arms of a woman with long brunette hair, vibrant blue eyes, and a naturally luscious bosom to go with her natural beauty. Though her appearance contrasted very much with the eerie and dark scenery of the room around them. She was a radiant light in the darkness that shrouded the space.
'Damn! That god—Leo, was it? I can't believe he sent me to this place... and with earth manipulation of all other abilities. I mean, what's a little bit of rocks going to do against anyone in Marvel? It doesn't even stand out. Well, I guess my isekai dreams really are over. What a shame.'
Adam thought as he began awakening to his consciousness.
'Wait a sec, where am I exactly? My vision's a little blurry, but this place looks a bit like a hospital... Well, one that's run-down, at least.'
Adam continued, his eyes wandering around the building.
The door clicked open, and a man dressed in a white lab coat walked in. He had a certain aura around him, and he reeked of cigarettes. His coat was dirty, torn, and stained. In his hands he carried papers that looked to hold some kind of importance. Instantly Adams' eyes locked on the man and his mysterious aura that surrounded his every movement.
"Your son is extraordinarily healthy, ma'am. He also happens to carry on your genes; in fact, they've already begun manifesting. You see this dirt around his body? I believe that's the manifestation of his geokinesis, and from what my powers were able to gather, he has pretty high potential."
The man said, pointing at the dirt crumbling off of Adam's ear before then handing over the papers to the woman.
"What! There's no way I can pay this... I—it's too much."
The woman said, her voice gentle and worried as she stared at the contents of the papers.
"Oh well, there are other ways for you to pay," the man said, leaning in towards the woman with a mischievous grin. "You know mutants, especially the ones with potential like your son, sell for a good price, so you could pay with him... or you could pay me with your body."
He reached out a hand towards the woman, gripping around her throat. The woman began to squirm, screaming in agony as the man reached down to unbuckle his pants.
Adam looked on with disgust. 'Gee, this guy's a creep! And this woman, she's technically my mother... am I really about to watch my mother get raped just after being born? Only if my power was a bit more useful—heck, I don't even know how it works. That "God" could've at least given me that,' he thought, before then being hit by a sudden rush of knowledge causing him to release wails of tears.
When it stopped, Adam felt a tingly sensation coursing throughout his veins; he could feel—sense—his surroundings much clearer.
The man reached his hands towards the baby Adam, ready to toss him to the side and proceed with his advancements on the woman who was helpless due to her weakened state, but before he could grab hold of him, Adam stuck his hand out and created a shard of stone from thin air and aimed it at the man. In an instant it moved at incredible speeds and pierced his heart.
The room went silent as the man's body fell back to the floor while the woman stared at her child, her face full of shock, but there was no fear in her heart; instead, she simply smiled with relief. She sat back to rest and kept her son close in her arms.
'Whoa! I—I just killed a man... How did I even do that? It's like I already knew how, like the knowledge just appeared in my head. Was it that "God"? If so, finally he did something useful. Who knows what could've happened if he didn't?' But that doesn't change the fact that I'm a murderer.'
Adam reflected, trembling at the thought of having taken another's life; he felt horrible and tried to calm himself down. 'No, I'm okay. If I didn't kill him, then he would've harmed my mother, and who knows what he'd do to me? Yeah, that's right, I did the right thing... I'm a hero.'
"I wonder what I should name you."
The woman remarked, thinking over the possibilities.
But she didn't have to think for long because, using his geokinesis, Adam created floating letters that spelled his name in the air. The woman was once again taken aback, but this time she began thinking that her son was some kind of godsend, as if he were the reincarnation of Adam from the Bible himself.
"My son, my beautiful son—Adam."
...
[3 Years Later]
"It's been three years now, and I'm just about done with this place. I mean, who wouldn't be? I live with my single mother in this rundown apartment, and we barely have enough food in this, and... there are rats everywhere. I hate it here! Though luckily my power doesn't seem to be entirely useless."
Adam said, placing his hands on the ground and using his powers to release seismic waves from them. He sent them deep into the earth searching for something, anything of value deep within the earth's layers. With it he sensed precious ores and metals, but most importantly exactly what he needed: a diamond uncut but nothing he couldn't change with his powers.
He began focusing on it, imagining it rising to the top, and it did, floating through the earth like riding an elevator to the top floor. When it surfaced, it floated into Adam's hands.
"Finally, I'll be done with this rat's nest."
Adam spoke, smiling from ear-to-ear and jumping with unimaginable joy.
He then focused his thoughts on the uncut gem and polished it, shaping it. When he was finished, he was left with a one hundred carat round and flawless diamond as well as a sense of pride welling inside him.
Quickly he ran back home to his mother, frolicking with delight. When he got back, his mother was in distress, searching for her child, tears leaking from her eyes as she shouted, "Adam!"
Adam approached his mom, assuming a more child-like appearance. "Mama, look what I found." He said, extending the diamond towards his mother.
At first she didn't notice the massive gemstone in front of her and only focused on her son, grabbing him into her arms and pulling him close to her chest. When she did, she felt something hard pushing against her abdomen.
She lowered her head to see what it was, her face turning to shock when she saw what her son was packing: a beautiful diamond that shined like no other.
"Adam...? Where did you get that?"
She questioned, taking the gem from his hands.
"I found it; isn't it beautiful...? It's for you, Mommy."
Adam said, retaining his innocent tone.
"Yes... it is, sweatie. It's beautiful."
She replied, pulling Adam in for a hug, tears dripping from her eye.
'I can't wait to get out of this place. Then I can really explore this power. I mean, I was exaggerating about its uselessness; it's just I'll never be the overpowered MC I always dreamed of."
