Su Ping heard a sound from behind. As he turned around to face the direction it came from, he saw a massive creature slowly approaching. A huge bear—almost four to five meters tall—loomed in the distance. Two jagged horns curled from its forehead, glinting menacingly as it advanced towards the white membrane surrounding Su Ping.
Just then, a translucent window appeared before his eyes:
[Race: Earth Demonic Bear]
[Strength: 5th Level of the Mortal Realm]
Seeing the status of the unknown beast charging toward him especially the rank,Su Ping exhaled a small sigh of relief. It wasn't too strong. Manageable.
By now, the bear had already reached the membrane. Without pause, it roared and struck at the shimmering barrier with ferocious might, trying to tear it apart. Its eyes locked on Su Ping with unrestrained hunger, as if the sight of prey had triggered something primal within.
But the membrane didn't so much as ripple. No cracks appeared. Not even a flicker of weakness. The Earth Demonic Bear's strikes might as well have been brushing against air.
Standing beside Su Ping, Lilith gave a soft sigh.
"Ah… such bad luck. These wild beasts… really courting death," she muttered. Her crimson eyes narrowed, and a smirk touched her lips. "Okay, okay. Since you're asking for it, then don't blame me…"
She licked her red lips.
Su Ping said nothing. He knew there was no way the bear could break through the white membrane. Even if, by some miracle, it managed to succeed he still had Lilith. Her combat strength stood at the 9th rank of the Mortal Realm. Just a single step away from reaching the King Rank.
More than that, he was curious. Curious to see how Lilith fought.
She seemed to understand without needing words. The very next instant, she vanished from his side—only to reappear outside the membrane, standing face-to-face with the bear.
The Earth Demonic Bear immediately sensed her presence. It turned, snarled, and swung its massive arm at her but struck only the dirt. Lilith had already moved.
From behind the beast came her soft, mocking voice:
"Ohh~ such a cute bear. But not perfect…" Her tone turned colder. "Let me make you perfect."
Before the bear—or Su Ping could react, the creature's body abruptly convulsed. A horrifying sound echoed through the trees as flesh burst apart. Blood exploded from within as invisible forces tore into it inch by inch, bit by bit ripping muscle, organs, and bone asunder.
The bear roared in agony, a sound filled with rage and despair. But it was helpless. Its skin split, its insides spilled, and moments later, it collapsed, lifeless.
Lilith, calm and composed, stepped forward through the blood-soaked earth. She knelt beside the broken corpse, dipped her fingers into the still-warm blood, and slowly brought them to her mouth.
She licked it delicately.
"Now it's perfect…" she whispered, her voice almost reverent. "Such a beauty."
