CREAK!
The door squeaked open as Vlad entered through its opening.
He was exhausted, mostly due to the walk, but only mentally.
because his vampiric nature wouldn't allow fatigue to take him whole.
So he moved to the bed, or what is considered to be a coffin.
And dropped his body within its opened frame.
It was silent for a while, peaceful and undisturbed.
If it were up to him, he would instantly drift to sleep, but unfortunately, it wasn't.
'Why would you put a sleeping spell, if it doesn't work during the day', he cursed inwardly, resentment never showing, probably because it didn't exist.
He never hated Alucard, how could he?
Why would he?
He remembered.
The time of his mother's death, if it wasn't for Alucard, she wouldn't have said her last words.
But his mind dismissed his thoughts, thinking it would only be a waste to think about the past.
So he waited.
Eyes closed, but conciseness refusing to retreat.
He could feel it all.
The pillows he was laying on, the silence of the night—everything.
But…
Beep-beep!
His cellphone disturbed the peace, rendering the feeling of his surroundings numb.
So he picked it up.
{ "I'm outside"} Bella spoke from the other end, causing Vlad to slightly stumble.
He had forgotten.
"Like you mean… now?" He asked a stupid question that to him 'who had forgotten' sounded very rational.
And silence only followed, as if Bella was saying 'seriously' through the phone's very speakers.
"Ok sorry, I'm coming" Vlad hung up, truly not trying to hear whatever she would say.
He sighed, realising that he had to go back to where he had gone earlier that evening.
Moving his body out from the dead man's box.
He walked to the door and exited its frame.
And immediately, as if too potent to exist.
He could smell a tedious amount of polluted oxygen.
And his ears, as if already confirming what was to come, heard the sound of a highly struggling engine, one that was probably praying for someone to end its life.
Vlad only smiled, perhaps thinking that Bella was, in-some-way better than him.
So he moved to her seated figure, knocked on the window and changed his expression to one of absolute sadness.
"I envy you", he spoke, right after Bella opened the window's frame.
"What?" She was confused by his words.
But Vlad, always one to speak to himself, shook his head in exaggeration.
"let's trade", his words clearly uttered, so calm and straight that Bella couldn't even make the assumption that she didn't understand what he meant.
"Nope?" She briefly giggled.
"Please, my love", he joked, "think about it".
"Vlad, you drive a bike", he sighed at her words, face moving downward, and sadness overwhelming him whole—or what it seemed to be.
So he moved to the other side and sat on the passenger.
And Bella, noticing him, couldn't help but faintly laugh at his now fully changed expression. Looking at him now, it would be a taboo to say he was once 'sad'.
"You should do acting", she commented, as she began driving off. "You are really good at it".
And Vlad held a thoughtful expression for what seemed to be a good minute, shook his head as if opposed, and laughed it off.
Bella only sighed at him, perhaps realising that those who have gifts refuse to use them to their advantage.
Realising that some of them, like Vlad, choose to struggle, until discovering it when it's too late.
For to her, time was not kind to anyone.
Waste time, and you will find yourself turned into a wrinkled 40-year-old.
And by then, it would be too late.
But for Vlad, that was all simply nothing but foolishness.
Humans only worry about time, and Vlad, his only worry, was life—unending.
_______
"Beautiful home, Mr Swan" Vlad stretched his hand, gaze still locked on Charlie, who stood before him.
"Never thought I would see you again", Charlie laughed, clearly amused by Vlads attitude.
The handshake felt different, perhaps too comforting.
"Let's get going", he said, as he moved to the car.
Bella only followed from behind. Her stance and posture slightly weird and uncomfortable.
"You good?" Vlad laughed at her actions, noticing that Bella had almost tripped from the way she was walking.
His laughter seemed to slightly brighten the mood, as she also laughed back.
And Charlie, who was already at the car's door, couldn't help but notice.
How long had it been since he had seen her laugh?
He didn't remember—perhaps too long for that to even be considered possible.
So unknown to both Vlad and Bella, he truly appreciated his presence.
_______
"So, you want a turkey sandwich, Mushroom Omelette and some hash browns?" The waitress was stunned by Vlad's order.
"Yep", Vlads Grin only grew wider, making her instantly feel uncomfortable.
It was weird, the fact that he made people feel this way.
Because, to her, Vlad looked like a short, attractive teen with unreal fictional looks.
But every time he smiled, it made her feel like she was in danger.
It was a strange sensation.
As if her adrenaline was telling her to run, but his looks were forcing hesitation.
She didn't know what it was, but clearly it wasn't that important to acknowledge, because she took his order and stormed off to the kitchen.
"Do you really always eat that much?" Bella's mouth was wildly open as she witnessed the occurrence.
How in the world was the small boy in front of her supposed to digest that much food?
And for Vlad, he actually didn't need to.
Ever since he had become a vampire, he never actually needed to eat.
And at this point, he was only eating for pleasure.
Food just tasted good, that was it
And as for digestion, Vlad truly didn't know.
Alucard never explained it, but Vlad didn't need to poop.
Or pee or any other activities that involved the separation of energy or the digestion of intake.
Every time he ate, it felt as if the food eaten would magically disappear.
No digestion, no evaporation or distraction.
It just felt as if the food he ate did not exist.
And the only thing that would remind him of its evidence would be the pleasure from its intake.
"I Just have an insanely fast metabolism", he replied, as he leaned back in his seat.
"We'll, let's just hope you have the fast metabolism money, cos the bill is gonna be a pain", Charlie shot in. Instantly receiving eyes of disbelief from Vlad, who sat on the opposite.
"But…" he was hesitant, truly surprised by what he heard, "she said, it was 'on the house'".
And Charlie laughed at his words.
"Just pulling your leg", he replied. Gaining slight giggles from Bella, who sat beside them.
And Vlad just sighed at his words, relief washing over his whole.
Thinking to himself that he needed to make some cash—quick.

😂This scene was an experiment. And I noticed that I use 'giggling', 'laughing', and those types of expressions too much. Don't worry, I will improve with time. Now till then. Let's make some peak lol.
