Chapter 6 - V1| Chapter 6

We finally agreed on one conclusion: "If enough people believed it was inevitable, then it became… inevitable."

My knowledge of the future gave me a beginner's advantage. Based on the timeline I calculated, the story hadn't been released to readers yet.

The protagonist's mother was a high elf. Six months after the dragons disappeared, she was killed in a Fracture challenge.

It took another six months for the protagonist to awaken his dormant bloodline, and that was the point when the manhwa began releasing to readers.

I had one year before this world would be exposed to viewers.

Should I stop the death of the protagonist's mother? I furrowed my brows. That would be a huge change in the plot.

In the manhwa, after his mother's death, the protagonist was stripped of his position as crown prince.

His inability to bond with a Symboint made him the laughingstock of the palace, pushing him into an intolerable amount of bullying.

His mental trauma was also the reason he awakened his dormant bloodline early. If I saved his mother from dying, perhaps he'd never awaken his bloodline so soon.

Maybe, in that way, I could strengthen myself and avoid being killed by him.

Or… just kill him before he grows up. I shook my head. I couldn't do that. His hidden trait was immortality.

He simply couldn't die—even if he wanted to. After he fully awakened his bloodline, this trait mutated into something abominable.

'Immortal Progression.'

Every death granted him EXP, skills, or sometimes new traits depending on how he died—or who killed him.

If I tried to kill him and succeeded, not only might he get my trait… I'd also cement his enmity toward me.

My best possible choice was somehow to create a good image in his mind and possibly earn a favorable impression from the readers.

So the best option I had now was to save his mother from dying.

But Diamond had a different opinion.

"Master, remember the arc after the protagonist awakens his bloodline?"

My eyes widened as the words escaped my lips.

"Endless Death arc."

A hidden fracture beneath the Heartsea proved itself to the Void, shifting the reality coordinates there and opening the gates of the world to the other side.

That fracture was merely yellow-colored—meaning a mid level dangerous challenge—which should have been easily cleared by a team of level 20s.

(Fracture difficulty, in increasing order: Green – Ordinary, Yellow – Medium, Red – High, Violet – Disaster, Black – Calamity, White – Apocalypse, Transparent – Harbinger.)

However, the location it appeared in was far from normal.

That area was called the Death Triangle—a part of the ocean connected to the Abyss. A fracture breaking there forced abominations lurking beneath the Abyss to awaken.

That was a disaster.

The continents surrounding the Heartsea faced the wrath of Abyssal monsters. By the time the rulers realised the severity of the matter, it was already too late to mitigate the damage.

Several countries were destroyed by the monster tides. Worst of all, the fracture evolved into Violet, empowered by the dead souls it offered to the Void.

It sent out a call to the Void.

And the Void answered its call—sending forth one of the greatest horrors this world had ever seen.

The Endless Death.

Endless Death, a tyrant-class monster who controlled death.

(Classes of monsters as per their strength, in increasing order: Feral, Mutant, Elite, Boss, Tyrant, Lord, Terror, Titan, Ruler)

Not like the trait I had. Rather, it could die endlessly, returning to an hour before its last death.

In simple terms, like the protagonist, this monster was also immortal—but with a time-loop ability.

I recalled how I rooted for the protagonist at that time, hoping he would win against this annoying monster as the fight stretched for more than ten chapters.

This was the fight where the protagonist's trait was exposed to the world, as he intentionally died to the monster—copying its trait and using the same power to kill it.

Only because of him did the people in the world escape from an endless time loop.

If I saved his mother, that would affect the time the protagonist awakened his bloodline.

Sure, naturally awakening a bloodline was possible… but who knew how long that might take?

What would happen if he failed to awaken before the Fracture broke? Honestly, I didn't want to experience an endless time loop.

"Diamond, what should I do?"

The feeling of complete helplessness soured my mood.

Saving his mother would create a favorable impression on him—and so on the readers.

But that would also change the trajectory of the Endless Death Arc.

A simple decision of mine could either save the life of the protagonist's mother and perhaps build a relationship between us…

Or become the reason for the death of millions.

If it were just a manhwa and the author asked me for my choice, I would've gladly chosen to save the protagonist's mother and build a favorable relationship with him.

But this wasn't just a manhwa.

Everything here was real.

My actions had consequences—and those weren't mere fiction.

I clenched my fists and released them.

Diamond stared at me silently, keeping a neutral stance.

We both studied each other for a few moments.

Without stretching our stare-war any longer, Diamond spoke,

"Master, why can't you choose both options?"

"Excuse me?"

My breath caught in my throat, as if the shackles binding my soul had vanished.

Another possibility—a choice I hadn't considered before—cleared its way to me.

Why can't I save his mother and help him unlock his bloodline, thus ending that arc early?

Or why don't I just clear that fracture before it breaks?

Unlike the ignorant people of this world, I knew what was going to happen.

And I could possibly stop them from happening

Then why should I wait for them to happen?

"So this is what you meant by me rewriting myself?"

Diamond nodded his head.

A smile appeared on my face… which soon turned into a full-fledged laugh.

So, it wasn't Zane who was replacing me. I was the one who was replacing her.

The endless possibilities lay bare before me. My choices had the power to rewrite the world as I wished.

I needed to tweak the events to align with my hopes, so even if my knowledge of this world eventually ran dry, I could still steer the story the way I wanted.

"So, Diamond, how about we begin? A rework of this world?"

I could feel his excitement as I reached out, palms ready to dig in.

Dragon damn… this is going to be a chore.
