Chapter 34 - The Hugo

Planet Uria (current planet), The Hugo Estate

"WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING??"

The roar shook the entirety of the estate and continued to spread across the compound, yet before it could leave the perimeter, the sound waves simply disappeared, leaving the rest of the world ignorant of the shockwave and the Hugo estate trembling.

A tall, young adult ran across the halls at superhuman speed, turning corners without losing momentum and whipping past people as if they were barriers on a track. His short white hair whipped around, similarly, his large azure eyes darted from corner to corner as he moved around the manor, scanning ahead to not crash into anything. Every time he moved past someone, the residual wind pressure would slap them in the face, yet none of them dared to say a word.

After all, the patriarch seemed to be losing his mind.

"FIIIINNNNNNNNNNN!" Another shout reverberated through the estate, the very foundation of the estate shaking. The Hugo estate shook in its spot, the inside of the building remained completely intact, but the fields on the outside weren't so lucky. Trees rustled as their leaves flew in the wind, some trees directly toppled, rivers diverged, and the clouds dispersed. If it hadn't been for the protective formation in the estate, most people would have turned deaf.

Just as the perpetrator was taking another large inhale, Finn appeared in front of the throne room.

His father sat on the throne, his dark blue eyes almost bulging out of their sockets. His long white hair flowed down his toned physique to his pecs, though it flew into the air as he abruptly waved his hand at him. Finn immediately understood his intentions, wiping his Spiritual Lu out of his soul and interpreting his father's signals. Soon enough, an image, no, a video appeared in his head.

Just above Uria and beyond the exosphere was an existential blessing!

Finn's eyes widened uncharacteristically, his father smirking at the scene of his unimpressed son finally showing some emotion.

"...How is this possible?" Finn murmured as he glanced between the image in his head and his father's figure.

It wasn't much of a question at all; he knew how it was possible.

Someone was awakening a talent deemed so precious, existence itself was excited.

That was the reason behind the phenomenon in the exosphere.

It looked eerily familiar to a dysfunctional realm node—a node in spacetime that caused two realms to overlap due to a disturbance—but how was it appearing above their world?

It was only in the Third Plane!

Finn's eyes finally refocused on his father, Zayne, looking for answers. He was surprisingly upright on his throne for once, his long black hair slicked back on his head and his royal blue eyes staring right at Finn.

Zayne spoke in a perfectly tranquil tone, his facelessness truly shining as he pretended he hadn't rocked the whole estate to call Finn here, "The reason for your summoning, son, is simple.

I'd like you to find the person who's causing this and bring them to me. The talent that this person's awakening is nothing ordinary. Look into my projection again."

Finn redirected his attention again, staring at the boundary of Uria where they had set up the planetary defence formations. Just above the barrier, the cold and detached characteristic of space had faded into the background, and in its stead, a colourful realm of greenery and a unique atmosphere was trying to cross over into the material plane.

Colourful bugs as small as pebbles with shining shells and huge behemoths rivalling planets attempted to pass through their formation, and if it hadn't been for his father, they would have. The creatures were relentless, constantly banging against the barrier that the Hugo had painstakingly set up.

His father's voice echoed in his head as he tried to capture everything he could in the projection, "It is still too early for you to know what that place is, but now, it is inaccessible even to me. Only a very recluse organisation and people with extremely specific talents can access it. Uria has birthed one such person."

The projection disappeared.

Finn's eyes quickly refocused on his father. "I will get it done."

"Exercise haste, they've just awakened their talent, if you take too long, even you might suffer a small loss. It's practically impossible for them to comprehend it to a dangerous level before you get to them."

Finn watched as the existential blessing calmed down; they were never meant to last long anyway. There were only two reasons such a blessing could come down. One, the corresponding Lu user hadn't been born in too long, or there were too few of them, prompting existence to aid them forward. Two, it was a talent treasured by existence itself, though this was more of a myth than not. And the third possibility was the creation of a new talent, though this was practically unheard of.

In essence, the existential blessing was usually due to the awakening of a rare talent, and in all cases, the purpose was always the same. To help the user comprehend, in fact, simply by blocking the existential blessing, Finn knew they were doing a great injustice to whoever the awakanee was. They had just delayed their enlightenment until either the formation was disabled or they left the planet.

Finn was shaken out of his thoughts when Zayne waved a hand, prompting him to leave the throne room. He watched as his son left, as he couldn't help but think about a certain event in the past week. Zayne's Spiritual Lu gently coalesced in front of him, displaying the events from a few days ago.

It was a video of the exosphere once again, but this time there weren't any disturbances in the formation, that is, until a dark blue pod suddenly appeared in front of the barrier and hit it.

The rebounding force spread across the barrier with such force that the entire barrier around Uria moved a few centimetres from its center point. The dark blue pod only made contact with the barrier for an instant before disappearing through it.

'What a fool I am,' Zayne reflected as he pursed his lips.

'If trouble comes knocking, I'll open the door and invite them in. I'd like to see what damage they think they can do.'

'The estimated date is approaching anyway; they should be out soon,' he thought as an image of a group flashed across his mind.

Wine. Meat. Their girlfriends. It was truly the best time of his life.

They would return soon.

'I wonder if they ended up with children.'

Zayn smiled.
