A new class of merchant ships began docking—elegant, dark-veneered vessels marked with silver glyphs. Their manifests were pristine, their credentials clean. They brought exotic goods—psionic alloys, synthetic luxury foods, zero-point energy capsules—and sold them at unsustainably low prices.
