As raqin noticed they were been followed, he already had an idea who could or who might be the ones trailing him.
"SAM….can you get rid of the spiritual tracker?"
/Yes/
"Is the tracker attached to my clothes or my body?"
/Both/
"Oh really….lf I'm right, it should be the princess and the beast man right? And if I am, why didn't you notify me when the princess placed a tracker on me?"
/Yes…She would have sensed it immediately and you were not at the right place at the time to make such abrupt decision. Although im sentient, I can still calculate the risks and make the best decision according to my judgement. Do you want we to get rid of them?/
/But before you make any decision I suggest you keep the tracker placed on you by the princesss, she used a magic artifact to place the tracker. Destroying it would only make them focus more on you, while the tracker from the beast man has no such restrictions, you just have to change your clothes/
"What sort of tracker did the beast man use?"
/It's Stink Flower fragrance. it's odorless to mortals and cultivators but very discomforting for beasts. and once attached to fabric materials it can't be removed, unless that cloth is destroyed/
"I see…once I bathe….it will be washed away but labor disciples only have one robe. Dirty or not, that's all you have to wear."
The following day after going through their normal duties, the trio met up as planned later in the afternoon.
"Now can you tell us how you can guarantee our safety". The twins asked.
"Before I tell you anything, do you guys have spare clothes apart from the labor disciple robe?"
"Yes we do"
"Good… do you have any a man can wear?"
"yes we do…but if you don't mind wearing our fathers clothes"
"No problem….give it to me. And you both should change clothes too then head over to the waterfall, i'll explain everything once we are there"
"Alright" the twins replied in unison.
The twins got up and left but not long after eve came back with the clothes. Raqin immediately went to bath and change his clothes, then he took the long scenic route as usual to avoid the bully checkpoints.
When he arrived, he noticed the twins were already there waiting for him.
"We are not been followed right?"
/Not a presence in 100m radius apart from you three/
Raqin just faced the girls and said " follow me closely or you would get lost".
He dived into the water and the girls followed behind him, and not long after they passed the Chanel that leads to the cave behind the waterfall.
"Wow...this cave is very beautiful, it's like the stars in the sky found a home here" eve said.
"Beautiful" Eva could not help but mutter.
"Now do you understand why I said I can guarantee your safety"
"Although we understand. First of all how did you find this place and how will this place truly guarantee our safety?"
"Finding this place was just a lucky coincidence but for the assurance of safety, you both have to help me out first I'm in trouble as it is"
Raqin went ahead to tell them about his situation, what he needs for his plans and how to execute them but he didn't mention SAM to them, they were only helping each other out because of the situation, who knows what will happen if his secrets got exposed when he hadn't developed the strength to defend himself yet.
"The most important aspect now is to get the funds and I can begin my experiments. First of all, this is how we going to get the money…."
Raqin told them the plan, taught them what stage performance is and even the girls were intrigued with all the things raqin was teaching them. They were wondering what sort of life did he live to be this cunning. It was all acting but the twins saw was a wolf pretending to be sheep.
"Tomorrow we'll head toward the treasure pavilion at the same time we met earlier today. Change your clothes and veil yourselves"
"What about you?, you can't just waltz in with your face showing right" one of the girls asked.
Raqin didn't reply but pull out a bronze mask from his spatial ring and wore it, immediately there was a change in his bearing and aura and then he removed the mask. "If I wear this mask, who ever is attending to me should or would assume I'm either a powerful cultivator hiding my identity or a young master of a powerful family who doesn't want his elders to know that he had gone out to experience the world"
"So which would you be?"
"Of course the young master with the powerful background, you guys will be my maids for while…. Hahaha"
"Asshole"
Somewhere close to the labor yard dorm. Two individuals could be seen hiding in the shadows. "This kid something else. Once he is done with his duties, he just locks himself up in his shack, if not for the rules and the fact that his scent is still here I would have taught him a lesson for been a whimsical brat."
The following day, the trio met as per the planned time, they first reached an alleyway connected to commercial district and quickly changed clothes then they headed towards the treasure pavilion. Apart from the peaks and halls of the sect, one could say treasure pavilion's building was one of kind, to others it was a magnificent tall building but to raqin it was just a skyscraper lookalike from his time.
As they walked in, others were walking out too. Some happy, some angry and some there just window shopping. But what got everyone's attention was the way the 3 people swagger their way in. The ladies have great bodies but their face was veiled and only their eyes could be seen while the man in the middle was wearing a bronze mask.
"It seems some young scion of a major family has come out to play" as the people in surroundings discussed in hushed tones.
"Welcome to treasure pavilion, how can we be of service" the attendant said to the trio with brimming smile.
"I want to make a withdrawal"
"How much would young master like to withdraw"
"200 million for a start"
"Ok ….200 mill….please come again…..did you just say 200 million" the attendant could not help but stutter.
"Yes"
"Young master, this is a big transaction, only the manager of this branch can authorize such to you. Please follow me to our visitors lounge while I get the manager for you"
The trio were led into a private room which they served them snacks to kill away time. Not long after a bald middle aged man walked in with the attendant in tow.
"May I know which force young master hails from"
"Hmph….what force I come from doesn't concern you. Just tell me if I can make my withdrawal or not" raqin answered with an annoyed tone.
"Sorry young master…. I had to ask because your withdrawal is a huge one and I'll definitely be punished by the higher ups if I can't explain properly. I hope young master can understand my plight".
Raqin just looked at the man without any change in emotions or body language to indicate if he was offended or not and sneered.
"Are you asking me that to know my identity or you assume I want to close my account. Which is it?"
The bald old man was surprised, he thought he would be dealing with a greenhorn that is yet to understand the workings of life but this one in front of him is a different case entirely. Like an old man in a teenagers body.
"No young master. Please don't misunderstand me. Any mistake I make right now can make me loose my position and im not ready for that"
"Alright then" raqin replied and gestured eve who was on his right to pass the card to the manager.
"I'll be right back with your money" the bald old man received the card and made his way out of the lounge. 20 mins later, several maids entered the lounge with sacks looking like duffle bags into the lounge and placed it in front of raqin. He gestured for eve to sit on his lap while she fed him berries and eva to check if the money was complete, when the manager stepped back into the lounge and saw raqins nonchalant behavior, he couldn't help but mutter to himself "there was 30 billion on that card, I wonder which family, sect or group he is from. If I wasn't afraid of upsetting any variables I would kill and rob this kid myself. I have to report this to the higher ups"
After Eva finished up, raqin simply waved his hands and all the bags of money disappeared.
"What??…..he also has a spatial treasure. This is a big matter, I really must report to the higher ups" the manager said to himself.
"By the way, I have a list of things I need and I hope you have them. This young master can't be walking around aimlessly."
When the manger opened the list, he was surprised and shocked. Not because they were rare or expensive but the fact that this are materials cultivators normally ignore, but this materials could be considered heavenly treasures to mortals and they were relatively cheap also.
"Young master, we can get you everything on this list but it will be available 5 days from now which coincides with the day of the auction. Is that ok with you?"
"Yeah sure…. But I won't be the one to come pick it up, is that alright?"
"No problem young master"
"Good"
Raqin stood up with the twins in tow as they left the treasure pavilion.
"If any of them shows up in 5days time, make sure to notify me". The manager ordered.
He made way to a secret chamber of the treasure pavilion, but he dared not intrude but wait till who ever was inside was ready to listen to his report.
"What is it" the voice in the secret chamber asked
The manager hurriedly reported everything that occurred.
"30 billion credits ….only those from the headquarters or our secret associates can have such funds" the person in the secret chamber thought to himself.
"Did you tell anyone to trail after them?"
"No I didn't sir"
"Good, after the auction we'll launch our investigation into them. the matters of the auction precedes other matters at this juncture."
As the trio left the treasure pavilion, they decided to roam the commercial district looking for anything that might catch their interest.
"Do you girls know where I can get a captured or dead slime beast?"
"Slime beast?? …..why didn't you add it to the list you gave that manager"
"Nothing….I just had the feeling I couldn't trust the man."
"Well we know a place. But we're not sure they have slime beast"
"And where is that?"
"Blood market"
"I see…. Same plan as before, we'll act the same way we did in the treasure pavilion"
Blood market isn't like the treasure pavilion that has its own building but a large piece of land for merchants to sell their goods. If one is too careless, one might not make it out of the market alive.
They went from one kiosk to the other before they approached a worn down make shift kiosk.
"Do you have slimes for sale"
"Yes I do. Alive or dead" a woman with a sickly voice replied.
"Both. If possible"
"Alive will cost 2 credits per one and dead will cost 2 credits for 3"
"How many do you have in stock"
"56 alive and 204 dead"
"That would cost me 248 credits right"
"Yes"
"Alright" and raqin quickly made payment. But right at that moment.
/host can you ask the woman that you want to view that box in the showglass behind her/
"Is there anything special about them?"
/Yes. And I can't get a proper reading because of the box. But I can tell a good material or weapon Is within that box/
"Old woman may I take a look at that box behind you"
The sickly old woman was surprised, but she brought it out anyways and said.
"It has always been in my family and no one has been able to open this box but it was later revealed that only a cultivator at the 4th level layer of martial arts can open this box"
"All that doesn't matter to me, old woman. Do you want to sell it or not?. Just give me a price"
"If you can pay 100,000 credits then it's yours" the sickly old woman said and sneered.
Many have tried to buy it from her hands and anytime she mentions the price, they always cower away but she met the wrong person today. Raqin didn't even argue and signaled the girls to sort the payment.
"Thank you young master" the sickly woman said not even hesitating to complete the trade. For in her mind, the universe sent this fool to give her money for something he would not be able to open.
When the other traders noticed the trio's flamboyancy, they flocked to them to check their goods too and hopefully gauge them out if they could be robbed later on.
After procuring anything they felt interested in, they headed back using the route of the treasure pavilion because SAM had already notified raqin that some unscrupulous individuals were tailing after them. They immediately jumped in to an alleyway, change directions and headed towards their respective quarters.
The following day, raqin got up to do his usual duties, and when he was done, he made sure to loose the trail of the two outer disciples monitoring him before heading to the cave.
"Time to open this box"
"SAM…how long will it take you to break the restrictions"
/Already did/
"Wait what...that fast"
/I broke the restrictions immediately your hands touched it yesterday/
"You're really unfathomable. Once I settle down properly and get rid of this anxiety. I truly want to have an in-depth conversation with you"
/yes host/
Raqin opened the box only to see 4 ordinary looking identical daggers. They didn't look any special or elegant. they really looked ordinary.
"SAM what's so special about this daggers"
/It's a low grade level 5 martial realm weapon. But there is a more powerful restriction placed on it. So it can only serve as an ordinary dagger/
"Sounds like I really got a good bargain".
"Time to work on PROJECT NANO-SLIME"
Raqin immediately got to work dissecting the slimes and with the help of SAM, creating blueprints and schematics. By the end of the day, he had already understood the genetical composition of the slimes. Now all he had to do was to start creating the new technologies he needed to turn the cave into his lab.
The following day, he gathered all the schematics and blueprints he had and headed towards the commercial district but this time around he went as a labor disciple. He went to the least popular and solicited smithery because he wanted to avoid trouble or in the case that the two outer disciples tailing him don't bring him trouble. He knocked on the counter and a rough and unkempt old man came out to attend to him "what do you want kid?".
"Good day senior, pls I would like to order the creation of some items?"
The old man scoffed after taking a second glance at raqin "what does a labor disciple like you know about creating items. Don't waste my time".
Raqin hurriedly pulled out the blue prints and schematics of tools he needed to create and showed the old man. Once the old man saw the blueprints and schematics, he was shocked and said to himself "i have never seen anything like this before"
"Kid….can you explain the use of this drawings"
"Sorry I can't"
"oh…so you're the type to keep your card to your chest, that's ok. Im not intrested in what youre creating, im just intrigued. But the materials to build it accordingly will be brought or bought by you, I'll only charge you for the creation. Is that alright?
"No....you already have the materials and if I need to pay extra more, I don't mind that. Is that also alright with you?"
"Brat….after going through your drawings you'll need better materials not ordinary materials to do create all this"
"Not necessarily, just help me with the ones that need ordinary materials for now and I'll bring the better materials later". After raqin said that he turned around and begun to walk away.
"Catch this" the old man threw a book at raqin.
Raqin caught it and took a closer look but he was somewhat shocked and baffled. 'Introduction to Swordsmanship'. Although he was able to extract martial data on two different occasions, he didn't have anything this theoretical based which he found intriguing. He simply bowed his head and hurriedly went back to his shack.
As the old man watched him leave "what a strange kid"
In the days to come before the auction. Raqin extracted the data of the book the old man gave him.
"SAM….compile every data related to swords and combine them with this book"
/yes host….process begun 1%/
Not long after it was completed. A new title appeared in his consciousness 'The Sword Canon'. Raqin didn't hesitate to start learning.
"So if I can learn the basics to full mastery before I connect with qi, ill have the chance to produce sword qi, once I breakthrough"
"i need to get me a sword"
He checked his spatial ring and found an ordinary iron sword, and he started brandishing the sword wantonly, and as time went by he was beginning to understand the basics of a sword. By the time he was exhausted he received a notification.
/sword realm: sword initiate, basic sword techniques proficiency: 15%/
Raqin was elated, "good….the fact that I can monitor my progress is a major boost in morale".
The following day, raqin met up with the old man and collected the tools. "I will bring the other materials when I get or find them"
"No rush kid".
In the following days raqin met with the girls and they started training together in swordsmanship and they also made plans for how they will deal with the two outer disciples tailing them.
The day of the auction had finally arrived and raqin had finally mastered the sword basics to 99.9% and the remaining 0.1% felt like a chasm he couldnt fill no matter how hard he trained or persisted.
"Well its already good I can master the basics to this level in 4 days"
Over the past few days, Raqin had prepared everything—securing early funds with the help of the twins and finalizing his plan to vanish. Today wasn't just about attending an auction. It was the beginning of a clean break. He would disappear into the hidden cave and stay off the sect's radar for the next six months. After that? Escape.
But he wasn't alone, he had Eve and Eva—sisters. Raqin had shared his insane vision: turning them into his first followers. And surprisingly, they agreed. Maybe out of hope. Maybe out of desperation.
Now, they were moving together.
As they made their way toward the martial field, Raqin could feel it: the eyes behind him.
/Host, the two outer court disciples are 50 meters behind, watching./
"I figured."
There was no outrunning a cultivator, not while they were still "mortals" in the sect's eyes. But there were other ways to outmaneuver predators.
He turned to the twins and handed them separate spatial treasures and new list.
"Eva, just buy everything on this list. If you don't find exactly what I asked for, get similar substitutes. Eve—same for you. No delays. Be back before the auction starts. And please don't forget to collect our order from the treasure pavilion"
"What are you going to do while we shop?" Eva asked.
Raqin smirked. "Keep our tail busy."
Suddenly, he pulled the girls into a hug.
"Play along," he whispered. "They're watching us now. I need to sell the illusion… give them something to get cocky about. Kiss me—both sides of the cheek."
Eva frowned deeply. Eve just giggled.
Still, they obeyed. Two quick kisses. One left. One right.
Not far off, two outer court disciples—one thin, one chubby—watched with curled lips.
"Lucky bastard," muttered the chubby one. "What's so special about him besides having a dead famous dad?"
"I like the fiery one," said the thin one, licking his lips. "But I wouldn't mind both."
"How about you take the fiery one, I take the shy one—then we swap later?" the fat one suggested.
"Deal. Let's cripple the brat tonight and take what's his. Nobody will stop us."
Later that afternoon, as Raqin helped set up the auction stage with the other laborers, he mulled over the plan again. Everything needed to go perfectly.
By evening, the guests had arrived—representatives from 1st-rate to 3rd-rate sects. Dignitaries, VIPs, and elites. All seated in the grand pavilion. To outsiders, it might've looked like a medieval gala. Raqin, though, could only sneer.
"Ten million years in the future… and it feels like I stepped back into a medieval world. They killed the old world but kept its filth."
He rejoined the twins as they regrouped, tension already building.
"Time to move," he said coldly. "We don't need anything from this auction. But we do need to disappear."
"Did you get the beast-inducing powder?" he asked Eva.
She nodded, handing over a small pouch. "What's the plan?"
"You'll lure the fish."
They frowned.
He elaborated. "The powder's harmless to mortals like us. But to first-stage cultivators? It drives beasts into a mating frenzy. If a male beast catches the scent, it'll think a female is nearby. If a female beast smells it... she might go feral. Now, imagine those two bastards drinking it."
The twins' eyes widened in delight.
"You're insane," Eve whispered.
"But it just might work," Eva added, grinning.
The twins approached the two outer court disciples who were pretending to 'coincidentally' stroll nearby.
"Seniors," they said sweetly, "would you allow us to pour you some tea and give you a shoulder massage?"
The disciples couldn't believe their luck.
"Hah! You girls finally came to your senses," the chubby one laughed.
"Serve us well, and we'll protect you forever," the thin one added with a smirk.
In the distance, Raqin narrowed his eyes.
"You'll regret this. Both of you."
Inside, the auction had begun. The crowd buzzed, eager to outbid each other.
Then came the next item. The host stepped forward.
"Next, we present a peak mid-grade 2nd-layer weapon—once belonging to a notorious criminal. A man who brought blood and fire wherever he went. This is the Sky Blood Sword."
Raqin's heart dropped.
That was his father's sword.
"Starting bid: 1 million credits. Increments of 50,000."
Rage boiled in his chest.
Criminal? That sword saved your damn sect.
Just as he began to step forward, a mocking voice stopped him.
"Well, well… isn't that daddy's sword?" Nick strolled up, sneering. "Going to try to buy it back, labor boy?"
Raqin forced a smile. "Only idiots fight over other people's toys. I'm sure your daddy gave you some pocket change to bid."
Nick's smirk faltered.
"You'll never touch that sword again," he growled.
"I don't need to," Raqin said calmly, walking away.
But inside, he was seething. They weren't just erasing his father's name—they were selling it to the highest bidder.
In the VIP seats above, sect leaders whispered behind sealed fans and closed eyes.
"So… you're auctioning the sword of the same man who helped save your sect in secret?" one elder asked mockingly.
"He betrayed us in the end," replied the Iron Sky Sect Patriarch. "This is justice."
"You mean vengeance."
"Call it balance."
The old man laughed. "And his son?"
"He's nothing. A labor disciple. If someone kills him, it's not our concern."
"I heard a young master made big withdrawal at your pavilion, is it true?" The sect matriarch of succubus garden spoke.
"Yes..im surprised also….I have already told my subodinates to begin investigation into his identity but so far, all we know is that he is a disciple of your iron sky sect. We can focus on investigating his identity after the auction." The old man of the treasure pavilion said.
"Only if they knew that kid had 30 billion credit on his card, I can't let these greedy idiots know about it or else im going to loose a layer of skin" the old man said to himself
Back outside, Raqin motioned subtly to the twins.
Time to vanish.
"Seniors," the girls said playfully, "we'll be waiting for your... special attention later."
The two disciples watched them leave and eagerly followed.
"Did they drink it?" Raqin asked quietly.
"They did," Eva said.
"How did you know they would?" Eve asked.
"Because men are cheap," he answered flatly.
As they moved deeper into the woods toward the hidden cave, Raqin felt it.
The two were speeding up.
"SAM... Status?"
/Beast powder has entered final stage. Their instincts will override logic any moment now./
"Good."
They reached the clearing near the waterfall.
The disciples caught up, grinning maliciously.
"Thanks for the warm-up. Now, time to kill you before we enjoy your women," the thin one said.
"You take the brat. I'll prep the girls," the fat one replied.
Plan C it is, Raqin thought grimly. Time to act scared.
He dropped to his knees, voice trembling.
"Please… don't kill me. Please…"
But if one looked into his eyes—just for a moment—they'd see the cold, murderous intent boiling beneath the surface.
The thin disciple grabbed him by the throat and laughed.
"You? Not even worth the effort. But orders are orders…"
Meanwhile, the chubby disciple reached the girls, who immediately began flirting, acting giggly, rubbing his belly and face. He was intoxicated by the attention.
Then—
The thin one twitched.
His eyes widened.
Raqin grinned.
"Gotcha."
A dagger plunged into the man's throat.
His grip reflexively tightened, throwing Raqin to the ground. Blood spilled.
On the other side, the chubby one was too slow. Two small blades stabbed into his side. He barely deflected a third aimed at his throat.
He reeled back, shocked.
Raqin coughed blood, stood, and wiped his mouth.
"Let's go," he said coldly.
