During the following month, aside from doing missions, Uchiha Yuan and Hyuga Asana were focused on studying the First Hokage's cells. After a month of research, Yuan had essentially confirmed his hypothesis: if he increased his life force stat through point allocation, he should be able to counter the blindness risk of the Mangekyō Sharingan.
As long as his life force was strong enough, he could use the Mangekyō Sharingan freely, just like Obito did.
This was great news for him.
Of course, if he could develop a more perfect version of Hashirama's cells, he wouldn't mind transplanting a small amount—it would save him many stat points.
Just as Yuan and Asana were engrossed in research, a message came from Orochimaru: the battle between Konoha and Iwagakure was entering a critical stage.
As in the original timeline, after killing the Third Raikage, Iwagakure faced a fierce counterattack from Kumogakure.
Konoha took the opportunity to team up with Kumogakure to attack Iwagakure.
To reverse the situation, Iwa sent thousands of ninja through the Land of Grass to harass the Konoha border, trying to pressure Konoha into negotiating from a weaker position.
Unfortunately, this war was doomed to fail for Iwagakure.
They were already a spent force.
After the loss of their Raikage, Kumogakure fought with renewed fury and pushed Iwa back repeatedly.
On Konoha's side, Minato Namikaze was using the Flying Thunder God Technique to dominate the battlefield.
The Kannabi Bridge, located within the Land of Earth, was a crucial supply route for Iwa's frontlines.
This Iwa assault that passed through the Land of Grass had no backup or resupply line. If Kannabi Bridge was destroyed, they wouldn't even have food, let alone the ability to continue fighting.
So, if the bridge was cut off, Konoha would essentially win the war.
As in the original story, Minato's team received the mission to destroy Kannabi Bridge.
A few days later, Hyuga Asana heard from Orochimaru about the result.
The aftermath of the Kannabi Bridge mission birthed two Sharingan-wielding heroes.
One was Kakashi, who copied over a thousand jutsu with Obito's eye, earning him the title "Copy Ninja".
The other was Uchiha Obito, whose name was engraved on the memorial stone as "killed in action, body unrecovered."
That mission changed both of their lives forever.
It also served as the foreshadowing for many plotlines in the Naruto series.
As a transmigrator, Yuan was fully aware of the significance of that battle.
By now, Obito should have been rescued by Uchiha Madara, and half of his body would soon be replaced with Hashirama cells.
Then Madara would set his plan into motion, using Rin to push Obito into awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan.
Obito's Mangekyō technique, Kamui, was a game-breaking ability in the Naruto world.
The principle behind Kamui was simple: it allowed the user to transfer themselves or objects between real space and a separate personal dimension.
But this allowed Obito to phase in and out of reality, rendering him immune to all attacks. Kamui made him nearly invincible.
Honestly, if possible, Yuan would prefer Obito never awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan.
That ability was too overpowered. But Madara was still alive, and Yuan had no intention of clashing with him at this point.
Plus, Yuan didn't have any particular affection for Obito. Even if he helped him now, Obito might just "thank him" later by putting him in a dream world through Infinite Tsukuyomi.
You couldn't trust people like that.
However, Yuan did think it was time to get in contact with Kakashi.
After all, an outsider possessing a Sharingan had already stirred up major controversy among the Uchiha.
Even in the Uchiha camp at the Land of Bears, everyone was talking about it.
"Senior Mei, is it true that Kakashi, an outsider, got the Sharingan?" asked Uchiha Yin, who had just learned of the news, entering Uchiha Mei's tent.
Inside Mei's tent, all the Uchiha members stationed there had gathered. Yin was the last to arrive.
"Yes. Kakashi did receive Obito's Sharingan," Mei confirmed.
"How can that be?!" Yin, a hardline member of the clan, frowned deeply.
Although Yin initially followed the hawkish faction because of her father, over time she had adopted their ideology. When it came to something like bloodline kekkei genkai, she stood firmly with the conservatives: no Sharingan should ever leave the clan.
"Yin, calm down. Kakashi isn't even here. There's no point getting upset over it," said Uchiha Cai.
"Cai is right," Mei agreed. "The clan will definitely discuss this with Kakashi. We don't need to act rashly."
"The clan? Let's be honest—do you think the clan head will take the Sharingan back?" Yin said, slightly mocking.
"What are you implying?" someone asked.
"Exactly what I said. You all know the clan leader's personality. He probably won't stand up to the village."
"What does this have to do with the village? Didn't Kakashi get Obito's eye?" Mei asked.
"Senior Mei," Yuan interjected, "Kakashi is now the hero of the Kannabi Bridge mission, and he's also Minato's student and Jiraiya's grand-student. He's basically a core member of the Hokage faction. The village higher-ups will definitely protect him."
Mei frowned and asked, "Yuan, how do you think this situation will be handled?"
"I agree with Yin," Yuan said. "The village will likely help Kakashi keep the Sharingan. The clan head will probably tacitly approve and make some deal with the village in exchange for compensation."
Mei's expression darkened. "Trading a clansman's Sharingan for benefits? Isn't that going too far?"
"That depends on the context," Yuan said. "First, we need to confirm whether Obito gave his eye willingly, or if Kakashi took it by force.
If it was a gift, I personally believe we should honor his last wish and trade the eye for something useful—but only if most of the clan agrees.
If Kakashi took it by force, then under no circumstances should he be allowed to keep it."
