Chapter 11 - Persuasion

"Grey, why are you here? Is Nishat okay?"

A woman in her late thirties open the door. It was a three-storied building. The building was situated near a canal, it had a broken signboard indicating it was a healthcare facility. And the one of the only few employees of this facility was Ruma, the blonde woman standing in front of them. It is apparent that she was sleeping until Grey frantically knocked the door ruining her sleep. "He is good."

"Then why?" Ruma yawned," Did you catch diarrhea?"

"Of course not!" Grey snapped, "We got new addition, two brats of Nishu's age. One useful and dangerous lad, he is one to keep an eye on. Another is lass, devoid of any use or harm as it seems."

"Who found them? You?"

"Nope, this time, it's Nishu. Got them by playing flute."

Ruma yawned again,"Alright, wait here. Let me take my bag. (Yawn) What a good way to ruin the sleep..."

'Can things be any more awkward? '

If it was possible to die from awkwardness, Risha would have died a hundred times by now. After Noah and Nishat had a deal, Nishat sent Grey to bring someone here. And since then, Nishat has been sleeping in the mattresses. As for Risha and Noah, they are standing near the bed, doing nothing. It is very uncomfortable, for Risha of course. Noah is unbothered, he is looking at the roof, thinking. After 30 minutes passed, Grey opened the door and peeked inside.

"What are you doing there? Can't you see the kid is sleeping? Hurry up and come out!"

Risha felt even more awkward. She said hesitantly, "He never said that we can stay in other room."

Grey's reply annoyed Risha,"Technically it's not his fault that you lack common sense."

And what was with the kid talk? Why was he calling someone older than him a kid?

Anyway they followed him to another room. It was even grander than the previous room, this room was devoid of even a ragged mat. Nothing was there.

Actually there was, a woman was sitting there in the floor. Grey too sat on the floor, his back against the cement wall.

"Why are you standing like fools? Sit!" He said gesturing them to sit on the floor.

"Is it your room?" Noah asked.

"No,mate. I sleep with the kid. It's his uncle's room."

Risha could no longer contain her curiosity, "Then who are you to them? And why are you calling such a big guy kid?"

"To answer your first question, I am nothing to them. And for the second one, do you suppose I will call someone younger than me 'big brother'?

Younger ❕Risha couldn't believe what she just heard. This guy looks even younger than her and she is just 17 and yet he is claiming to be older than the guy who is 22?

" Now then let's stop this nonsense and get to the point. This is sister Ruma. She what's in the Healthcare facility."

"And how is that the point?"

"You're way too much impatient, little lady. Kindly keep your mouth shut and let me finish. Sister Roma is assistant to one of the main leaders of our rebellion . To join our cause you must go through her. "

Noah raised his hand," So what now? Do we have to please her?"

"Smart boy," Grey chuckled, "You may have convinced Nishat with some shady deal; but without her acknowledgement you cannot be one of us no matter what you do."

"So what do we do?"

"That is up to you. But do remember you need to prove yourself worthy and this is the only get one chance you get."

Ruma, the judge, finally opened her mouth, "You better have something unique for we already got all we need."

Noah was about to speak but Risha interrupted, "I remember the music band using some code to communicate with each other. It was about kidnapping some official."

Ruma's brow furrowed, how does this brat know about their secret code and how did she even decode it?

"So?," she asked, "What does that have anything to do with proving your worth?"

"It has sister," Risha smiled,"Your mission tonight is going to fail."

"What?"

"Yes, if I am not wrong then the authority already have decoded the messages you sent. They have smart people and technology working for them, you see."

Risha felt confident. She wasn't just sitting around listening to the song they were singing in vain. After hearing the first two line, she suddenly rememberd reading something in the history class. This code was classified as one of the weakest codes as it was extremely easy to decode. The first one to decode it was a 7 years old student of music department.

Ruma was very agitated. Does little girl even know what she was saying? How can the authority decode this so easily? She believed Risha was speaking nonsense. But she was an intelligent lady. She cannot just brush off her words easily as she knew a mistake even a small one can ruin their entire plan.

She look at Grey, "Tell them to come back. The plan has possibly been compromised already. "

Then she looked at Risha and continued, "Even that was that truth, it's still not enough to prove yourself."

"And if I where to provide you with a brand new code, that is hard to decode even for authorities?"

She wasn't just talking big. Once she had found a book while playing treasure hunting and later she found out that it was an unpublished work of a genius who created a unique code. It was created in a way so even AI cannot decode it. And being blessed with photographic memory she remembers every character written there. She was completely sure that she can provide them with the code that has beaten AI of 6 year future from this timeline.

At first, Ruma wasn't convinced. But later when the spies said that there indeed was armed force waiting for them to fall into the trap and Risha too showed her a bit of the code, she had no choice but to be awed. She reluctantly accepted them in the rebel force.

Noah actually thought he had to play some cards in order to convince her but seeing Risha doing that on her own, he remained silent and enjoyed her taking the spotlight.

Finally, Risha became one of the rebels, despite still having no idea what this rebellion was for.
