SIENNA'S POV
I wished it was all a joke, but this was fucking real!
I had left the wedding even before it ended. I just couldn't take it anymore, and the fact that I saw Theo and the stunt he had pulled didn't make things easier for me.
I didn't think twice before I walked to the car and drove off. They were almost done anyway, and I didn't think my presence was really needed anymore.
And I definitely didn't want to take stupid family pictures that would be hung on the wall for memories. I wished this memory would vanish into thin air, so there was no need to keep it.
The thought of how my body had reacted earlier to Theo's touch clouded my mind, and I cursed under my breath. I was disgusted by myself.
I had no idea what was playing in that bastard's head that made him suddenly turn away like that, but all I wanted to do was force the thoughts out of my head.
Pretend like it had never happened and, if it was possible, never see him again.
"I was probably shocked, probably because of the way he acted." I tried to convince myself and focused on something else.
Something not Theo-related, like the warm bath I was going home to have. I was going to fucking have a nice bath and wash away all the memories of today.
"Now that was a positive thought!" I muttered as I pulled into the car garage.
But the next scene I saw was extremely surprising.
A frown curved on my lips as soon as I stepped out of the car. I couldn't understand why or what was going on.
There was a moving van parked in front of the house. Men were working as they took different household items into the house. My house!
"Who are you guys?" I gasped, my eyes widening in surprise.
Why the fuck was my luggage packed outside? And why were these intruders taking in their stuff?
"What the hell is going on here!" I snapped angrily, finally getting their attention.
The couple supervising the whole thing stared at me, and the man asked the other men to continue what they were doing like I was completely invisible.
What was this bullshit? Did I enter the wrong house or what?
They were obviously a young couple. The guy was tall and chubby with short brown hair. He had a frown glued to his face and looked so much like someone who didn't know how to smile.
The lady was different. Compared to her husband, she had a cheerful smile spread across her face. It made me wonder if she was smiling for two since she had Mr. Grumpy as her husband.
She was a short and petite lady with long black hair, and her skin was very fair. She was a beauty, but that was the least of my problems.
Why were they fucking moving into my house? Mom never told me I had roommates now. Not just one, but two?
This wasn't possible! I wouldn't agree to this.
"You must be the daughter she talked about." Her voice was calm and pleasing, like I had expected.
The smile didn't leave her face as she walked closer to me. She smiled softly at me, but I responded with a frown.
"Who are you? Don't tell me you guys are my distant family I now need to live with?" I sputtered.
My mom could be really crazy and decide to do something as insane as that. I had no idea who my relatives were, but there was a possibility that it was possible, right?
Of course it wasn't. Why the fuck would she do such a thing to me?
"No, of course not. I'm Sarah, and that's my husband Kane. We bought this house, and your mom told us you would be coming to take your stuff." She explained, and I chuckled lightly.
What an expensive joke she was making. Was I supposed to laugh at that or what?
All I wanted was to come back home to have a nice bath and then get some fucking rest. I had no idea I was going to meet a fucking prank.
They bought this place? If they did, then where the fuck do I live? In the streets?
This had to be a fucking joke, and I wasn't even in the mood for such nonsense.
"Is this some kind of joke? Who planned this? Mom? But why?" I asked, and for the first time, she frowned. I never thought she was capable of not smiling, seeing how brightly she smiled.
I still couldn't understand how the fuck I was supposed to believe such trash talk as the truth. They would actually need a whole lot more than this to make me believe their story.
Why would my mom even sell this house? Where did she expect me to live?
"Miss, didn't your mom tell you she had sold this place? I thought you came for your luggage like she told me you would." She was as confused as I was, and I chuckled lightly.
It really didn't look like it was a joke anymore. She looked fucking serious at this point.
Wait, did Mom really sell off our house? Why?
I scoffed in disbelief as my hand slid into my hair. I was going crazy. This whole thing was driving me nuts, and I just could not wrap my head around it.
The buzz of my phone snapped me out of my confused thoughts, and I brought my phone out of my pocket. My eyes glanced at the screen for the caller ID, and a soft scoff escaped my lips.
Great! Just on time. She called at the best time.
"Nice timing, Mom! What the heck is going on?" I fumed.
"Where the heck are you?" She yelled angrily, and I snapped.
"Our house. Oh wait—where I thought was our house!" I responded sarcastically, and she scoffed.
"Get your stuff and leave there. I will text you an address—come there." She instructed and hung up even before I could respond.
Is she fucking serious?
