Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Day I Dated a Cloud

"I knew it wouldn't last forever… but some days are worth the heartbreak."

Dear Diary,

It started with a sigh.

Not a sad one. A sigh-sigh. The kind you let out when your heart feels too full, like it's spilling over the edges. I was lying on the grass behind school, watching the sky do its usual soft dance — lazy blues, gentle whites.

And then he appeared.

A boy made of cloud.

He drifted down like mist, soft and glowing. His hair looked like whipped cream, and his eyes… oh, Diary, they were silver and clear, like rain that hadn't fallen yet.

"Hi," he said, with a voice like distant thunder.

"Hi," I replied, like a breeze.

He floated beside me and offered his hand. It was cold, but gentle. I took it, and in a blink, the world below disappeared.

We soared.

Above trees. Above towns. Even above the problems I didn't want to think about.

He showed me the Library of Lost Laughter, where forgotten jokes hang in the air like bubbles.

We visited the Valley of Almost-Cries, where teardrops turn into dewdrops before they fall.

And we danced on Sunbeam Street, spinning on rays of light.

I asked him what clouds do when they're not floating.

"We fall in love with people who notice us," he said.

"And then we drift away before they start to forget."

I didn't ask what that meant.

He showed me how to whisper to raindrops and make them hum my favorite songs.

He let me sit on his shoulders as we painted sunset streaks across the sky with our fingers.

I forgot about everything down below.

Tests. Texts. People who didn't see me.

It was just us —

a girl full of thoughts and a boy made of sky.

But then… the wind changed.

His edges began to blur. His hands lost their shape. His smile flickered like the last bit of candlelight.

"I can't stay," he said, voice fading.

"Why not?" I asked, even though I already knew.

"Because clouds don't belong to one place. Or one heart. We visit. We remind. We go."

I wanted to scream, but instead… I kissed his cheek — or where it used to be.

He smiled.

"You made me feel like more than weather," he whispered.

And then he was gone.

I woke up lying on the grass again. Alone.

But when I looked up, I saw one small, heart-shaped cloud still hovering above. Waiting.

I smiled.

Maybe love doesn't always last forever.

But maybe… it doesn't have to.

Till tomorrow,

Wunor ☁️💔
