Chapter 3 - Kiss Me

Flashbacks.

The café was tense.

Murmurs filled the air, turning it suffocating.

Lucian and Maria were arguing.

Then suddenly, she rose abruptly.

Lucian grabbed her hand.

"Look at me! And tell me why! Give me a reason!"

She just screamed, jerking her hand away.

"Let me go! Lucian, I don't want to be with you!"

"At least tell me why!"

Lucian spoke softly, his voice trembling, close to tears.

She lowered her gaze.

"...I'm sorry, Lucian. I just don't see you the same."

Then she ran. Lucian followed her outside.

"Maria!" he screamed.

Scanning the area,

he saw her just across the other side.

So he ran toward her.

But on his left side. a truck.

Speeding toward him.

He gasped.

Yet he couldn't move.

His body froze

as the truck came closer... and closer.

Then. impact.

The sound was deafening.

Blood spilled from his head, painting the road in silence.

He lay there... unmoving.

Lifeless.

"Maria..."

Leyla froze in shock.

Seeing everything, his visions, his memories.

Tears streamed down her cheeks.

She could feel it. his pain, the betrayal, the longing for Maria.

But she couldn't feel him.

His very existence... just a shadow.

A ghost. A memory.

She tried to hug him.

but collapsed to the ground.

She clutched herself tightly,

realizing she couldn't even touch him.

"Why didn't you tell me...?"

Lucian stood silently behind her.

The same spot.

Back to back with her.

Then a wind blew softly.

"I don't know..."

"Maybe... you're the only one who can see me."

Leyla gripped the grass tightly.

"I don't care what you are! I love you!"

Lucian's eyes filled with sorrow.

He had wished to hear that. But it was too late.

"No... I'm just a ghost, Leyla. But you... you have a future."

She turned to him, eyes watering, crying.

"Then I'll die for you."

Lucian's eyes widened. Yet he didn't turn.

Then he heard the sound of her footsteps.

She was running.

"Leyla, stop!" he cried, chasing after her.

"LEYLA!!!"

Yet she never stopped.

She kept running.

She was fast toward the train station.

Just in time, the train was arriving.

Then she took another step in front of the train.

She jumped.

But before she could.

Lucian hugged her from behind.

"NO! Stop!" his voice thundered.

Time stopped.

Everyone froze. People on the train, the world around them.

Only him and her remained.

Leyla looked at him.

"Why?" she asked, eyes full of tears.

"I can't let you have the same fate as me,"

Lucian said. "I'm sorry, Leyla..."

He leaned closer to her.

Then, he kissed her.

a true kiss, this time.

But to her, it felt different.

Slowly, she began to remember.

Her memories with him.

One by one.

from the first time she laid eyes on him

until today.

But then, slowly,

one by one, they began to fade away.

"Why...?" she asked.

Then, a faint voice.

Her voice, a memory of hers:

"My name... my name is Leyla. What's yours?"

"Lucian. Lucian A. Strade."

Just as she heard it,

she forgot it.

"Who...?"

Then Lucian whispered, one final time.

"Thank you for everything."

The world around her started to move.

The train doors opened. Just in time.

She stepped inside.

Then Lucian's voice echoed, one last time.

"I love you."

The train doors closed.

Everything moved fast.

Leyla sat inside, confused.

"Am I... going home?"

She looked out the window.

Confused.

"Did I forget something...?"

But she couldn't remember.

Time passed.

Seasons changed.

Leyla returned to her usual self.

Every day, she went to the same café.

Ordered the same drink.

Waited for something.

Then,

Spring came again.

She sat at the café window.

Same spot. Same book. Same coffee.

Same eyes... wondering.

"What i'am i searching for?"

Then a barista spoke.

"We're closing. Can I get you anything?"

She smiled, apologizing,

and turned to leave.

But before she could,

her eyes caught on something.

Someone. Lucian.

Just a glimpse.

Then he vanished.

She shook. "Is that?" She asked.

The barista frowned, "Are you alright?"

Leyla smiled softly.

Let out a little laugh.

"I thought I saw something...

Maybe it was just my imagination."

Then after a long day,

she tossed her jacket onto the bed.

Her eyes caught a glimpse

a book, sitting quietly on her desk.

"Final Spring."

She stared at it.

But she couldn't remember...

Where did that book come from?

When did she buy it?

She opened it.

Her eyes slipped through the lines.

Even though she didn't know why,

even though she couldn't remember who

She kept reading.

And when she reached the final line,

a tear slipped down her cheek.

She clutched the book tightly to her chest,

her shoulders trembling.

But she never knew why.

It wasn't sadness. It wasn't joy.

Just a feeling...

like something once hers.

was now gone...

"Final Spring"

In every moment of life, I long to see the spring,

Where fields awake with flowers, and colors start to sing.

It pulls me back to that first, trembling feeling,

Of you and me... falling in love,

For the first time,

In the last spring.

I want to be in love,

So deeply. like a flower in bloom.

I don't want to say goodbye,

Not yet... not so soon.

So hold me. Love me. Just one last time,

So I can survive

This final spring.
