Chapter 63 - Chapter 15: Interrogating Sean

So - called sacred artifacts refer to the items in the church that possess extraordinary power on their own.

Sacred artifacts are divided into nine grades from the first to the ninth according to the amount of power they contain, just like the grades of priests.

However, the number of sacred artifacts is far fewer than that of priests. At least, Horn has never seen a holder of a sacred artifact in Northwind City.

It is rumored that each church has sacred artifacts with power above the ninth - level. They call this level of sacred artifacts divine artifacts!

Since he was holding a sacred artifact, Horn's doubts were solved.

It turned out that Sean had released the cyclone shield through the sacred artifact. But then a new problem arose.

How could a wizard like him use the sacred artifact of the God of Northwind?

You know, the church has always been claiming that sacred artifacts have spirits and only priests recognized by the sacred artifacts can use them!

Horn thought for a while and decided not to kill this wizard for the time being. He had some questions to ask Sean.

It was not too late to kill him after asking.

...

Splash! Enoch lifted a bucket of ice - cold water and poured it directly on the unconscious Sean.

The water was bone - chilling. When it splashed on Sean, he couldn't help shivering.

Even in the scorching summer, he was frozen and trembled.

Because this bucket of water was jointly created by Horn's water flow spell and Shirley's cold current spell.

It would freeze if it were any colder!

Splashed by the water close to zero degrees, the still - unconscious Sean finally woke up from his sweet dream. His head was still a bit numb.

Yes, Enoch had arranged a sweet dream for him. He was afraid that if he gave him a too - terrible illusion, Sean would instinctively break free.

In his memory, he had escaped from Horn and the others and was living a domineering life in an unknown small village, occasionally killing a few people to sacrifice to the Demon God, living like a god.

Suddenly, a thunderbolt struck from the sky. Although it didn't hit him but hit the side, he was still startled.

Then he fell back into a life of debauchery. In the illusion, he was comfortably taking a hot - blooded bath, but suddenly the blood became ice - cold!

He gave a start and woke up from his sleep.

Well, he didn't realize that he had fallen into Enoch's illusion yet.

Sean opened his eyes blankly and looked around. He felt a sense of restraint which was very uncomfortable. Looking down, he was so scared that he almost peed.

Because now he was tied to a tree stump by dense vines!

The location was still the small village where he was born and raised! He hadn't escaped at all!

And who liked to tie people to stakes the most?

Those damned priests!

So these troublesome guys were actually priests. No wonder they were so powerful.

Was he going to be burned to ashes?

Sean, who wasn't very smart, still thought that Horn and the others were priests. He never wondered why a group of priests were good at different spells.

Just as he was panicking, he saw the one - eyed man wearing glasses walking over, grabbing his hair and making him lift his head.

Horn wanted to make his line of sight level with Sean's, but after tugging for a while, Horn found that it was not only tiring but also very uncomfortable to tug at Sean's wet and greasy hair.

So he motioned for Luke to use the vines to adjust Sean's head to a proper position.

Watching the vines fix Sean's head, Horn nodded in satisfaction. This height was just right for interrogation.

Horn patted Sean's face and said,

"I have a question for you."

"Just ask what you want. Don't kill me," Sean said obsequiously. He was very worried that Horn and the others would burn him on a whim.

Horn took out the small palm - sized shield that was about to break and waved it in front of Sean's eyes twice, saying,

"How did you get this thing?"

Sean quickly replied, "I snatched it from a first - level priest."

"Oh, you even defeated a priest. You don't look like a master," Enoch teased. He thought this little wizard was lying. Could he really snatch it from a priest?

"It was a priest who was seriously injured for some unknown reason. It was just a few days after I became a wizard. I was..."

Sean quickly explained. He didn't want Horn and the others to think he was lying because it was related to his life.

"I don't care how you got this thing," Horn waved his hand to stop the explaining Sean and said in a low voice,

"What I'm curious about is how you can use this thing. Not everyone can use a sacred artifact."

All he was curious about was how a wizard like him could use a priest's sacred artifact. As for the dispute between wizards and priests?

It was just like dogs biting each other. Horn would clap his hands and celebrate no matter who died.

"Can't you just use this thing as long as you know the incantation and can provide the energy to activate it? I just scared that priest a bit and he told me everything!" Sean said to Horn in surprise.

Weren't they from the church? How could they not even know this?

Pfft! Horn suddenly burst into laughter. After laughing for a while, he showed a mocking expression and said,

"So, is it a lie that only those chosen by the sacred artifacts can use them? Hehe, gods? The church? They're just a bunch of liars!"

There was a mocking smile on Horn's face. He was always happy to hear negative news about the church.

Sean, who was tied up, said in a weak voice, "Is it okay for you priests to talk about the church like this?"

The smile on Horn's lips froze. He wanted to punch someone for being mistaken as a priest!

"We're not priests! And we don't like being regarded as priests."

Since he wanted to punch someone, he naturally had to do it. He directly punched Sean in the eye socket, making Sean let out a scream!

Since Horn first decided to take revenge on the church, his personality had been gradually changing.

Horn used to look like a shy scholar and still mostly did so. But when facing some things, he was much more decisive and open - minded than before.

At least the former him would definitely not have punched someone directly just because of a disagreement.

Of course, this also had something to do with his anger towards Sean, the wizard.

"Not priests... Are you wild wizards then?" Sean looked at Horn and the others in disbelief with a bruised eye.

Horn and the others didn't answer. Sean scanned the expressions on everyone's faces and knew that he had guessed right. These people were wild wizards!

But how did wild wizards obtain such powerful strength?

If he could have obtained strength like them back then, would he not have become a slave of the Demon God?

This thought flashed through Sean's mind. It was meaningless to think about these things in this world. Now that he was a wizard, he had to work hard for the Demon God!

But if they were wild wizards...

Sean suddenly burst into laughter. If they were wild wizards, then he still had a chance to survive!
