Chapter 6 - 6. First Meeting

After the homeroom teacher finished his introduction, all the students began introducing themselves one after another in an orderly fashion.

To Yang Xiong's genuine surprise, every single student in this class possessed an innate spirit power of level five or higher. Considering there were more than twenty people in the classroom, it became clear that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School was deliberately focusing on nurturing children with exceptionally high innate spirit power levels. This selective approach explained why even their "ordinary" homeroom teacher had achieved the rank of Spirit King.

Yang Xiong began to suspect that this class was actually an elite training group specially designed by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School for intensive cultivation of their most promising students. The fact that even the Sect Master's daughter was placed in this class strongly supported his theory.

Another unexpected discovery was that several students possessed the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda martial spirit, though their innate spirit power levels were only level five. This showed that even within the sect's signature bloodline, there was significant variation in natural talent.

Soon, it became Ning Rongrong's turn to introduce herself to the class.

"Hello everyone! My name is Ning Rongrong, my martial spirit is the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, and my innate spirit power is level nine. I came here today with my father and Grandpa Sword. You're all welcome to visit my house and play whenever you have free time."

The entire classroom erupted in excited murmurs upon hearing this introduction. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda represented the true direct bloodline inheritance of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, especially when combined with an innate spirit power of level nine. Among all the children present, she was simply an unattainable existence that inspired both admiration and awe. It was important to note that there was only one other student in the entire class with innate spirit power of level seven, and not even a single student with level eight.

The fact that Ning Rongrong was also extremely beautiful only served to attract even more attention from her new classmates.

Yang Xiong felt somewhat speechless about the situation. This Ning Rongrong, who would later become known as the "Little Witch," appeared well-behaved and lovely on the surface, but Yang Xiong wondered if she might eventually turn this entire class upside down with her mischievous nature.

Moreover, girls with such princess-like temperaments were notoriously difficult to deal with. He didn't particularly enjoy interacting with such personalities. If he accidentally made her cry with his straightforward and honest nature, who knew if someone might come seeking revenge with a sword.

As everyone finished their introductions, it finally became Yang Xiong's turn. Being seated in the last row, he was the final student to speak.

Yang Xiong stood up casually and spoke in a clear voice. "Hello everyone. My name is Yang Xiong, my innate spirit power is level six, and my martial spirit is my entire body."

Since Yang Xiong's martial spirit was his physical body itself, he couldn't summon and display his spirit like the other students, which immediately aroused curiosity and confusion among his classmates.

All the students were surprised and puzzled by Yang Xiong's unusual declaration. They had never heard of anyone having their own body serve as their martial spirit.

Teacher Lin Gong smiled warmly and nodded with encouragement. "Very good! Although your martial spirit is quite unique and special, your innate spirit power level is still very impressive. There's definitely hope for you to become a high-level Spirit Master in the future."

Yang Xiong completely ignored the doubtful whispers and questioning looks from his classmates and sat down directly without further explanation.

In the distance, Ning Fengzhi spoke quietly to Sword Douluo in a thoughtful tone. "Uncle Sword, having one's entire body serve as a martial spirit is quite rare indeed. It's unfortunate about his relatively modest innate spirit power level."

Sword Douluo, who had been resting with his eyes closed, nodded in agreement. "Having the body itself as a martial spirit is extremely rare throughout the entire Spirit Master world. It's said that the difficulty of cultivation for such spirits is extraordinarily high. We currently have only one other person with this type of martial spirit in our entire Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School."

There were no formal classes scheduled for the first day of school. The remaining time was dedicated to allowing students to communicate with each other and begin forming relationships.

Yang Xiong glanced around the room casually and was shocked to discover that Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo had departed at some point, apparently leaving without making any sound whatsoever.

Ning Rongrong remained in the classroom, but she was completely surrounded by many other students, clearly serving as the center of attention and fascination.

Yang Xiong sighed helplessly and returned his attention to reading his book, preferring the company of written knowledge to social interaction.

Since all the children came from families within the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School community, there were no dormitories provided within the school facilities. There were no afternoon classes scheduled, and all students were free to move about as they pleased. They could either return home to their families or utilize the training grounds located within the school complex, though it seemed that most students chose to go home for meditation practice.

However, the teachers remained available in their offices, and students could seek their guidance and ask questions at any time if they encountered difficulties.

Moreover, Yang Xiong was surprised to discover that in addition to basic textbooks covering literacy, fundamental cultivation techniques, and essential Spirit Master knowledge, one of the required texts was actually "Ten Core Competencies of Martial Spirits" written by Yu Xiaogang. It seemed that Yu Xiaogang's theories were still relatively well-regarded within major sects, which explained why Ning Fengzhi would speak favorably of such approaches in the future.

However, Yang Xiong felt that the content of this particular book was actually quite general and possessed significant limitations. While it might serve adequately for basic student education, it was not suitable for cultivating truly exceptional geniuses.

After all, Yu Xiaogang was merely a Spirit Grand Master himself. His personal experience with high-level spirit beasts and top-tier geniuses was insufficient, which explained why he had been largely rejected by the broader Spirit Master community.

Furthermore, after Yang Xiong had read extensively, he recognized that Yu Xiaogang's book had borrowed heavily from many other existing books and theories. It could be said that Yu Xiaogang had simply summarized and compiled information from numerous sources. While this approach might have some educational value for beginning Spirit Masters, it also potentially limited the development of truly gifted individuals.

With Yang Xiong's extensive knowledge and understanding, he had already absorbed most of the material covered in their textbooks and had even developed his own insights and theories. Basically, every time he attended class, the teacher would be lecturing while Yang Xiong sat quietly in his corner at the back of the classroom, reading his own selected books.

The school maintained a separate library facility with an exceptionally rich and comprehensive collection of books that could truly be described as all-encompassing. The library was open to all internal personnel and students.

Yang Xiong had developed a routine of borrowing several books every morning and then spending essentially the entire morning absorbed in reading and study.

The homeroom teacher, Lin Gong, felt somewhat helpless about this particular student who never seemed to pay attention to lectures.

However, Lin Gong had tested Yang Xiong by asking him various questions during class on multiple occasions. Yang Xiong had answered fluently and accurately every single time, demonstrating complete mastery of the material. Over time, Lin Gong stopped worrying about Yang Xiong's specific learning methods, as long as Yang Xiong didn't disturb or distract other students.

Of course, Lin Gong had also spoken with Yang Xiong privately, hoping that Yang Xiong might communicate more actively with his fellow students. After all, these students would become the backbone and future leaders of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, and building strong relationships could expand valuable connections for everyone involved.

However, Yang Xiong's response left the teacher feeling quite speechless and unable to argue.

"Teacher Lin, Spirit Master cultivation involves going against the natural order of heaven and earth. Compared to those so-called social connections, I believe I need to work much harder on my personal cultivation, especially since my martial spirit is so unique and special. I want to discover a cultivation path that's truly suitable for my own development."

Lin Gong couldn't help but sigh deeply when he heard this mature response. "Perhaps if I had possessed your attitude and dedication toward cultivation when I was a child, maybe I wouldn't be limited to just the Spirit King level for my entire life."

Over time, everyone in Class One of the first grade became aware that an unusual individual had appeared among them. This person possessed a special and unique martial spirit, usually preferred reading books over socializing, and basically avoided interaction with other students.

However, this same person consistently achieved the highest academic performance in their entire grade. He scored perfect marks on essentially every examination, could answer even the most obscure and difficult questions, and produced results that completely satisfied their teachers.

Whenever other students had questions they wanted to ask Yang Xiong, he could provide extremely detailed explanations, offer relevant examples, and demonstrate understanding that seemed completely unlike that of a fellow student. Instead, his knowledge and teaching ability resembled that of an experienced instructor.

Yang Xiong himself understood very clearly that a full-body martial spirit was inherently weak during the early stages of development, making cultivation extremely difficult and challenging. However, in the later stages, the speed of cultivation would become faster and faster, eventually surpassing all other martial spirit types in the world.

This understanding was precisely why Yang Xiong worked so diligently on physical exercise and devoted himself to intensive study. Only through rigorous physical training could he make his martial spirit stronger and more capable. Only by acquiring extensive knowledge could he discover the true cultivation path most suitable for Body martial spirits.

Furthermore, Body martial spirits possessed certain significant disadvantages that needed to be addressed. To compensate for these limitations, Yang Xiong needed to learn numerous combat skills and techniques. He didn't want to waste time developing self-created spirit skills at this early stage, but he recognized that broad knowledge would serve as the foundation for everything he hoped to achieve in the future.
