Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Now a Campus Celebrity

"My strategy for Forbidden Zone #3 was actually pretty simple," Vincent Fox said with a grin. "I just took control of a zombie, let it bite someone, turned that person into another zombie, and then killed them. Rinse and repeat to farm mission ratings endlessly…"

Benjamin Tanner's eyes widened. "That strategy…"

"You were about to say it's inhumane, right, sir?" Vincent smiled. "Don't worry. Everyone I let the zombies kill deserved it. They were evil to the core."

Hearing that, Benjamin felt slightly reassured.

"How many zombies did you kill to earn a Gold-tier mission rating?" he asked.

Vincent replied honestly, "Over two hundred thousand."

"What?" Benjamin's expression froze in horror. "Two hundred thousand?"

Not twenty. Not two hundred. Two hundred thousand!

That meant hundreds of thousands had been turned into zombies by Vincent… only to be slain right after. The sheer scale was terrifying.

"I killed over two hundred thousand zombies too," Autumn Summer added quietly.

Benjamin looked at the two of them and didn't know what to say anymore.

"Zombies are dangerous and not exactly weak," he asked. "How did you manage to control them?"

"Professor, did you forget I have a flame talent?" Vincent chuckled. "Zombies fear fire. I used that weakness to subdue Old Ren right after he turned. I disabled his limbs so he couldn't move, and from then on, he obeyed my commands."

"I did the same with the others severed their arms and legs before they fully turned. That way, killing them was easy. Also, zombies evolve if they drink too much blood."

"To prevent them from growing too powerful and getting out of hand, I never kept any zombie around for too long. I eliminated them before they could evolve," he added.

Of course, that wasn't the full truth.

In reality, he hadn't been as careful as he claimed. Inside the Forbidden Zone, he had used pure brute force to control the horde.

"Still sounds risky to me," Benjamin sighed. "You both did remarkably well."

Vincent nodded. "Exactly. That's why Autumn and I worked together the whole month. Managing food, water, rest, and zombies alone would've been impossible."

"If someone wants to copy this strategy, they'd better find a few reliable partners."

Benjamin nodded thoughtfully, now understanding why both students had received the highest mission rating.

Autumn remained silent the entire time.

Lying was easier when only one person spoke. Two people trying to fake a story together were more likely to slip up.

Suddenly, a memory surfaced in Benjamin's mind.

At the exit of Forbidden Zone #3, he'd overheard students from War God Academy claiming that a few missing classmates had also chosen the zombie extermination mission.

It was possible they'd used the same strategy as Vincent.

After all, it wasn't complicated, and someone else might have come up with it independently.

If that were true… could those students have died at Vincent's hands?

It was plausible. If their objectives clashed, things could easily escalate.

Benjamin glanced at Vincent and Autumn with a neutral expression. These two… were far more dangerous than they looked.

"Vincent, what about Forbidden Zone #2? Want to share your strategy?"

Without missing a beat, Vincent launched into a perfectly rehearsed story.

"I was chased by a Licker early on. I escaped using obstacles in the terrain, but I was running so hard I didn't even see when the creature disappeared. Later, when I couldn't run anymore, I found a military vehicle nearby with a map that led to a base."

"Once I got there, I found weapons and ammo, and just started killing zombies nonstop."

Before transmigrating, Vincent had been an avid webnovel reader. He had read so many stories that making one up on the fly came naturally.

If Benjamin asked where that military vehicle was, Vincent would just say he hadn't paid attention he was too busy running for his life.

"It's getting late," Benjamin said. "You two should get some food. And stay on campus for now. Don't wander off."

Even he had begun to suspect that Vincent might have killed the students from War God Academy. If he thought that way, others would too.

Some families might even seek revenge.

They might not act openly, but behind the scenes? Assassination wasn't out of the question.

Autumn was relatively safe. The Summer family was powerful and not easily provoked.

But Vincent? He was the most vulnerable.

Godslayer Academy had already done background checks on him. As one of their most promising talents, he was under close scrutiny.

And Vincent had nothing behind him. No powerful family. No secret backers.

If anyone wanted to vent their anger, he would be the first target.

"Then we'll get going, Professor," Vincent said.

The next day.

News of the Third Forbidden Zone spread quickly, and Vincent and Autumn became overnight celebrities.

Their names circulated across every academy. Even netizens online were talking about them nonstop.

Vincent felt it most. Whenever he walked through campus, other students stared.

Wherever he went, he was the center of attention.

The looks he got were mixed: jealousy, disdain, awe… but mostly admiration.

Fortunately, he had applied in advance to live in a single dorm room. The school had approved it, sparing him the awkwardness of roommates.

He didn't care how others viewed him.

Every day, he continued training, quietly building his strength.

Name: Vincent Fox

Race: Human

Physique: 522

Spirit: 309

Strength: 521

Agility: 503

Bloodline: Saitama Physique (Awakened)

These were Vincent's current stats.

Even inside Forbidden Zone #3, he had made time to train, steadily raising his attributes.

One day later.

Autumn Summer sat quietly in the library, reading, when her phone buzzed.

Seeing the caller ID, her brow furrowed. After a moment's hesitation, she answered.

"Hello, Mom?"
