It was Night, not your typical starry night, it was dark, and silent. Clouds covered the skies and the moon, preventing any light from seeping through. A Two-Story apartment attracted the attention of many, in what seemed like a crime scene. Flashing red and blue lights painted the night as squad cars and an ambulance screeched to a halt, But the apartment was small and clean. Too clean. The air smelled like bleach and fake roses.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Inside the apartment a broken mirror hung on the wall. Its glass was cracked in many sharp pieces. Under the mirror, a person lay still on the floor. Their hand reaching towards a large piece of glass. But there was no blood on it. The way they had died was slow… and strange.
On the broken mirror, someone had used blood to write words with their finger "You watched me fall."
Amongst all the people outside the crime scene, one stood out, he wore a brown coat and a white shirt underneath, paired with his dark coated Fedora. The Detective felt a chill run down his spine. This wasn't just a murder. The scene. The way it happened. It had a meaning. This was a message.
