The thunderous roar echoed across the entire mountain range. Even from miles away, its fury was palpable. Sharp-eyed team members could vaguely make out Xubai's current state. The scales on its abdomen were completely shattered, exposing pale, torn flesh. Countless splinters of armor were embedded in its skin, blood flowing freely down its legs, staining half its body crimson. Those who saw it immediately whispered to the others. Word spread like wildfire. For a moment, Su Li's reputation soared to new heights.

To shatter the armor of a Vasto Lorde with one kick—this wasn't just destructive force. This was a feat few Bankai could manage. Even Byakuya Kuchiki's Bankai only left superficial wounds on the transformed Adjuchas. Though those Adjuchas were enhanced, no one knew whether this Vasto Lorde had also been altered. But they'd all emerged from the same garganta. There was a massive gap between the two—one was an Intermediate Menos Grande, the other a true high-level Vasto Lorde. Their power wasn't even comparable. And clearly, Su Li had already surpassed most captains. Perhaps even more than that.

But the moment didn't last. Because Xubai had stood up again. Madness burned in its eyes. Its Reiatsu surged anew—stronger, more violent than before. Even at such a distance, the oppressive force made it hard to breathe. Several were crushed to the ground instantly, faces twisted in pain. Su Li's expression grew serious. He knew Xubai had snapped. That strike drove it to full-blown insanity. It was done holding back. It had unleashed everything.

The Reiatsu became unbearable. Even Ise Nanao and Omaeda collapsed, barely conscious. Sui-Feng, pale as snow, still clenched her teeth and remained upright.

BOOM! Xubai vanished. A kilometer might sound far, but for beings like them—it was a blink. The next instant, Xubai was in front of Su Li. Its blood-soaked claws tore toward him. Its speed was several times faster than before. Su Li's body responded automatically. He barely dodged. But the next strike was already incoming—too fast. Relying entirely on Ultra Instinct, Su Li narrowly slipped past again. This time, though, the claws came within half a millimeter of his skin. The third strike followed. Su Li was forced to use Shunpo.

Xubai, in its rampage, had finally forced him to move. The casual dodging from before was gone. Now, it was a clash of high-speed movement—Shunpo versus White Pursuit. Su Li flashed. He caught a glimpse of Sui-Feng in the distance. This guy's like a copy of me... just not as handsome. The speed battle escalated. Xubai's attacks came closer and closer. The spectators clenched their fists in worry.

This wasn't a spar like with Sui-Feng. This was a death match. A life-and-death battle. And at this rate... Su Li was going to get hit.

"Why the hell isn't he fighting back?! Still trying to look cool dodging everything?!"

"If he keeps this up, he's going to die a pretty corpse!!"

Sui-Feng was so anxious her palms were soaked in sweat. Everyone watching felt the tension. But none of them knew what was going through Su Li's mind. If they did, they'd all be shouting in unison: "You're absolutely insane!"

Su Li wasn't fighting back for one reason—he was testing his limits. He remembered a quote from his past life, spoken by a legendary racer:

"How do you beat your opponent? Find the latest braking point. Find the tire's grip limit. Find the boundary of your own ability."

At this moment, Su Li was doing just that. Every dodge brought him closer to his absolute edge. Only by brushing against death could one truly understand life. Only by flirting with death could the spirit become stronger. This was his dance on the edge of death. And with every step, his mind grew tougher. He knew the road ahead would be filled with foes far stronger than Xubai. There'd be no referees, no healers, no second chances. If you lose, you die.

So your heart must be like Shisui's—calm and unwavering. This mindset mattered more than Ultra Instinct, more than the Eight Inner Gates, more than the system itself. A strong heart made the system your weapon. A weak one made it your curse.

And so, under Xubai's relentless onslaught, Su Li tempered his heart. Until—A fingertip brushed his throat. A thin line of blood formed. Su Li's expression didn't change. His eyes remained still. He had evolved. His mindset had broken through. He was now something more. This was training.

If Xubai knew Su Li was treating their fight as mental conditioning, it would've exploded in rage. In fact, it did. Xubai lunged again. But this time, Su Li caught both its wrists mid-attack. Their arms locked in the air. Su Li's gaze was calm.

There was one more thing to test before ending this.

Eight Inner Gates: First Gate—Open Gate. Open.

BOOM! A surge of violent wind exploded from Su Li's body. His energy skyrocketed. This was the combination he wanted to test—Ultra Instinct and Eight Inner Gates.

The First Gate belonged to the safe zone—no harm to the body, no recoil. So Su Li opened it boldly. Now he'd see the fusion's true power.

White Hits. Technique within a technique. He raised his fist slowly.

One Bone.

BOOM! The sky trembled. The air pressure alone dwarfed Xubai's Reiatsu. The ground quaked. Team members grabbed onto whatever they could, trying not to be blown away. At the epicenter, the force Xubai felt was indescribable. Panic flooded its eyes. Then came fear. It opened its mouth in a silent scream, desperate to flee. But it was too late. The fist was already there.

Before it even made contact, Xubai's mask shattered. Then—its skull. Then its entire upper body exploded into mist. It disintegrated into fine blood mist, drifting in the wind.

Xubai was dead.

The storm settled. The wind died. People began crawling upright, brushing off mud and leaves. Then they looked forward. And every face froze. In front of Su Li stretched a massive trench, over a hundred meters long. Carved out by wind pressure alone.

"Xiaojian—move! Hurry!!"

Yachiru shouted urgently. Zaraki Kenpachi's face was darker than thunder as he sped forward. Other captains followed. With such a terrifying eruption of power, it was clear what kind of battle had taken place.

And the 12th Division had already sent an urgent distress signal. They knew a Vasto Lorde far beyond all classifications was present. Every captain's heart sank. If something hadn't already gone wrong—it would soon.

Two figures suddenly passed overhead. "Move faster," Yamamoto GenryĆ«sai ordered, his voice cold as ever. He and Sasakibe vanished ahead. The captains exchanged grim looks—then poured all their strength into running faster.
