Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Training.

As a time traveler, Kaito had lived two lives and now possessed the soul of someone far older than his physical age. His mental maturity was no less than that of an adult—perhaps even greater.

However, his physical condition was poor. He was an orphan, had never trained physically, and was only five years old. You could imagine how weak his body was.

If it weren't for the transformation triggered by the Thunder Fruit, which had enhanced his physique dramatically, it would have been even worse.

Lying flat on his back with a clear mind and a calm heart, Kaito began to extract chakra for the first time.

Dots of faint blue light drifted out from his cells like fireflies, passing through various points in his body and finally flowing into his chakra core.

Kaito felt warm all over, like soaking in a hot spring.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but eventually the warmth faded, replaced by a light feeling of exhaustion.

He understood it as a warning from his body: he had reached the chakra limit for the day.

Opening his eyes, he could sense the increased chakra within his body. A smile formed on his lips.

Even the chakra that had just been consumed had replenished slightly.

Walking to the two wooden stakes in the yard, Kaito clenched his fists.

With a thought, a thin arc of light blue lightning appeared around his hand.

Excited, he didn't hesitate—he threw a punch at the stake.

Bang!

It felt like punching through paper, not wood.

The stake was pierced straight through without resistance.

Retracting his fist, he saw a smoldering hole in the wood. Black smoke curled upward, carrying a burnt scent.

The hole's diameter was still smaller than the outer width of the stake. If his fist had been just a little wider, the stake might have split in two.

Kaito was satisfied. That punch held the raw power of lightning.

Instead of diving into physical training right away, he returned inside to think through a training plan.

What he needed now was to enhance his physical strength and train his body.

Only with that could he refine chakra faster—and unleash the full potential of the Thunder Fruit.

Right now, he wished he were a member of the Uzumaki clan, or even a jinchūriki—then he wouldn't have to worry about chakra shortages.

In the world of Naruto, there were many techniques and abilities to strengthen the body: Sage Mode, Lightning Release Armor from the Hidden Cloud Village, and the infamous Eight Gates Technique.

Sage Mode required mastery over natural energy and trials at the three great sacred places.

As a longtime Naruto fan, Kaito knew the Lightning Release technique involved enhancing the nervous system via chakra. But that required precise chakra control.

As for the Eight Gates Technique—yeah, right. Not happening anytime soon.

After some thought, he concluded: none of those elite skills were practical for now.

"Better to start with basic training," Kaito muttered bitterly.

"System! Turn the area across from my house into a training ground! Also, make it daytime!"

['Scene replacement successful!']

It was like the sky shifted.

What had been night was now a clear, sunny day.

Kaito arrived at the newly formed training ground and began with the simplest routine.

Push-ups—goal: 100.

One. Two… The first fifty went smoothly.

At rep sixty, his arms started to get heavy. By seventy, they trembled violently.

Eighty… ninety… one hundred.

The last thirty were sheer willpower.

By the end, he was drenched in sweat. A small puddle formed beneath him.

Thump!

He collapsed onto the ground, panting heavily.

After a short break, once his body recovered slightly, he started squats.

Same goal: 100.

After completing the squats, Kaito felt utterly drained.

His head buzzed. His eyelids twitched. Dizzy and disoriented, he closed his eyes.

Some time later, he opened them slowly.

"System! Why am I not hungry? Didn't you say this was a real world?" Kaito questioned aloud.

Normally, training like that would leave him starving. But now, he didn't feel anything at all.

['Once you return to your original form, your questions will be answered.']

"Tch. Still trying to act mysterious," he muttered.

Shrugging it off, Kaito resumed chakra training.

He noticed something: after waking, all the fatigue in his body had vanished.

Even the chakra within him had fully recovered.

He refined chakra until he hit the daily limit, then resumed physical training.

Train the body. Refine chakra. Kaito pushed himself relentlessly in that space.

An unknown amount of time passed, until the system's voice echoed in his mind:

['Host! Your training time is about to expire. Please return to your main body.']

"How long has it been? Ten days already?" Kaito was surprised.

['Yes. Host can remain for another five minutes. After that, the system will automatically return you to your body.']

"Forget it. Let's head back," Kaito said, shaking his head.

Those ten days had been fulfilling. He could feel the steady increase in his strength.

He was even starting to get addicted to the feeling.

In a flash, the environment vanished. His vision spun before going black.

As the cold sensation of the real world enveloped him, Kaito knew he had returned to his real body.
