Chapter 20 - Diamond Will Be His

Silent Hawk gulped. "Ok — ok, I'm backing off!"

Sasha slowly removed her daggers while he stepped away from her. "The last guy that grabbed me like that, I sent his balls in his head."

Silent Hawk was amused, he loved that she was even more feisty than the little girl he met seventeen years ago. "I believe you," he smirked. "But there are zombies around the corner. You won't be able to handle them."

"Why? Because I'm a woman?"

"No, because we don't have the ammo or the manpower."

"Oh, so because I don't have a gun and because I'm not a man," Sasha decreed.

"That's not what I meant — "

"Look, I don't need your help or any other man's help for that matter. I just need to get to my friend."

"Ok."

Sasha walked off and of course, he followed her.

"Please stop following me," she said.

"I'm not." He smiled internally as he remembered their last encounter. Even back then she was a dangerous little thing.

Sasha walked off, and Silent Hawk strolled behind her. Sasha didn't trust him. The military couldn't be trusted, she knew that after what she saw at the crash site.

And maybe it was him who had shot the guy on the steps, plus where there was one soldier the others couldn't be too far.

Sasha needed to act fast, so she spun around, catching him off guard. She placed her hands on his shoulders, the poor fellow was too distracted by her silky touch, that he didn't even see the hostility behind her eyes until it was too late. She kneed him in his crotch and then shoved him to the floor.

"Motherfucker!" He grabbed his nuts as he rolled around on the floor.

Sasha hurried to the corner and peer around the side.

She counted them, there were twelve, all bundled at one specific door. Room 307. She could tell they were once military men by their clothing.

Sasha had to think fast. There were two of them closer to her. She had to catch their attention, so she whistled.

The short burly one with the shaved head heard her first, and he took off towards her. Then the slim red hair woman followed behind him.

Good. The closer they came to Sasha, the more agitated they became. The smell of their food was teasing their hunger.

The burly Z made it around the corner first and Sasha wasted no time as she stabbed him through his brain and lowered his body to the ground so he didn't cause a ruckus. The female was next and as soon as she entered the corner, Sasha sailed her knife straight in her forehead. Sasha ran up toward her and caught her before she could hit the ground.

Sasha searched them for weapons, she found two knives and a gun with one full round.

Silent Hawk stood to his feet as he shook off his discomfort.

"Can you use a knife?" She asked him.

"Yes, but I'm better with a gun."

"You think I'm a fool? There's no way I'm giving you a gun. It's either a knife or you fight with your bare hands."

"What do you mean fight?"

"I mean — IT'S TIME TO KICK SOME ZOMBIE ASS!" Sasha yelled, catching the Z's attention.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?" Silent Hawk yelled.

"A little," Sasha chuckled.

Sasha threw him a knife. "Seriously, you're giving me the smallest one?"

"You should be grateful I'm giving you a weapon at all."

Four zombies managed to reach the threshold first. Sasha sent her daggers flying through the air, killing two of them on the spot.

Silent Hawk waited for the tallest one to make its way to him. He eased him off with his foot as he stabbed him in his head. "Sorry Joshua," he mumbled as the corpse fell to the ground.

Sasha popped off the gun, shooting the other one in the head, then she hurried to retrieve her daggers. Four more made their direction towards them. Sasha squandered no time as she stabbed two of them in their skulls, then she shot the other two.

She hurried back to Silent Hawk's side. "Where's the other two?" She questioned.

"I don't know." Silent Hawk went to check it out. The two remaining zombies were still at the door clawing, trying to get in. He gestured for Sasha to follow him. "Come on, your friend is in room 307."

"How'd you know that?"

"Because I have someone in there too."

Sasha didn't like the sound of that, but she followed him to the door, and they killed the two remaining zombies.

Silent Hawk was about to knock on the door when he felt the gun being pressed to his spine. "What are you doing?"

"Being smart, now knock," Sasha commanded as she hid behind the muscular man.

*KNOCK*

*KNOCK*

*KNOCK*

They waited but no one answered.

"Knock again," Sasha commanded, so he knocked again.

This time the door yanked open.

"Bro took you long enough!" General Killshot greeted. He opened his arms to hug Silent Hawk when Sasha pointed the gun at him while pressing her dagger at Silent Hawk's back. "Woah! Whoa! What's going on?"

"Stay back, where's my friend?" Sasha yelled.

"She went to use the bathroom." Killshot pointed to the door behind him.

Tashell came running out of the bathroom.

"Thank God you're alright!" Sasha sighed. "Now grab your sword and keep this one in line."

Tashell grabbed her sword and pressed it at Killshot's spine.

"Not again!" Killshot sighed.

"Now call your informant on the roof, tell them to get down here," Sasha suggested.

"Hey, what's going on?" Tashell questioned.

"Do you trust me?" Sasha asked.

"Of course, Hearts together, sisters forever," Tashell recited.

"Ok good. Now, do as I say!" She jammed the gun in Silent Hawk's back.

He picked up the radio and spoke, "Birdeyes, do you copy. Silent Hawk here."

"I copy Silent Hawk. Over."

"Bring the stray down and keep an eye on her. These two here are hostile. Over."

"Roger that, Silent Hawk. Over and out."

"See if you can tie his hands with something," Sasha told Tashell. She looked around but she saw nothing she could use as bounds. "Use your belt."

"No — this is Gucci," Tashell whined.

"Just do it!" Sasha sneered. Tashell tied Killshot's hands with her belt. "Now this one."

Tashell took Sasha's belt and bound Silent Hawk's hands. Sasha put them to sit in opposite parts of the room.

"Now what?" Silent Hawk questioned.

"Now we wait," Sasha declared.

Silent Hawk snickered, give him a hot girl for a night or two, and he didn't care what her opinions were. He didn't like his 'tail' to talk unless they were complimenting him or promising something naughty. Love is for fools, he'd always say. He preferred his women to be like coffee cups – tempting and disposable. They came for the glamour and he'd leave with a story, that's the way it always was — but now his entire being yearned to touch this woman.

Like the undead, he was famished; insatiable for her. She was a once in a lifetime kind of woman, even the blind man could see that.

And she would be his, even if he would have to rearrange the constellations for her to see that.

He was an army man, he lived for the thrill, and now he had run into a battle that he wasn't sure he could win, but he wouldn't stop trying — even if it killed him.

She will be his — Diamond will be his.
