Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Ghosts from the Past

Location: Unknown

Control.

It was the most dangerous weapon in the world. More potent than bullets. More elusive than truth. With enough power, enough money, and the right control—anything was possible. Kingdoms could fall. Legends could be erased. Lives could be rewritten.

Jack knew he was being watched.

Not just watched—studied.

Ever since the mission in the Arabian Desert… the silent call after… the text that followed the failed hit. Someone was out there—orchestrating everything. A ghost in the shadows. Always one move ahead. Always invisible.

This wasn't just surveillance. This was precision. Patience. A master pulling strings while Jack stumbled through a rigged board.

The auction. The bloodbath in Afghanistan. The betrayal.

None of it was chaos.

It was choreographed.

And then—her.

Serah.

Her laughter echoing through that small café. The way his eyes lit up when he saw her. The way time slowed the moment she smiled.

And then the last time—

His fingers trembling as they brushed through her hair, now cold. Lifeless. Gone.

If he'd been just seconds earlier… just a little faster…

She would've been here. With him.

Hands intertwined. Hearts beating in rhythm.

Another thousand miles together.

Another lifetime.

He sat there…quietly…asking for forgiveness in his little whispers to her. Filled with regret and sorrow.

Location: CIA HQ Langley, Virginia

Alicia stormed through the door to find Silas seated at his chair looking through classified information on the Baluchistan Attack a few weeks back, but why was he looking at it when it was not even related to the CIA??? Alicia said, "They are dead, he escaped..." Silas is not surprised "You found Seven??"

"No. What's with The Baluchistan Attacks file??"

"That's none of your goddamn business Ms. Renner. Find me Seven."

The search to find Mayors continued. Every A-Grade Team, Dark Ops, and Extraction Program was on the hunt for him. The hunt for the angel continued.

The Watcher was still behind Jack Mayors noting his every move, but he knew it wasn't time to strike.... not yet...it hadn't been.
