Kumo Days – Part 1

For the Uzumaki, the next three years were good. Living together, Naruko felt loved like never before. With the support of her fiancée, surrogate mother, and the Gyūki-Bee duo, she adapted to being loved—and to being a hermaphrodite. It wasn't unusual to hear her refer to herself as either male or female without a consistent pattern.

Under the guidance of Kurama-ka-chan, Naruko learned fuinjutsu, shadow clone jutsu, and jutsu aligned with wind and lightning natures. She developed a new form of nin-taijutsu inspired by A and Bee. It was called Armed Nin-Taijutsu—a fusion of weapon summoning via fuinjutsu, chakra affinity application, and Naruko's own twisted, unpredictable taijutsu movements. This made her a fearsome opponent in close to mid-range combat. Her tattoo designs, which concealed hidden fuinjutsu seals, took the shape of diagonal tiger stripes on the outer sides of her arms and at the base of her tail. Spiraling bands lined the inner arms and underside of her tail, ending in circles at her palms and tail tip. There, the foxy blonde stored a vast arsenal of ready-to-use weapons.

Hinata, free from the restrictions of her clan, studied both her mother's scrolls and those of the Hyuga main branch. With help from A and Bee, she discovered a fundamental flaw in the revered Jūken style: it worked well only for those with an earth affinity. Fire users could manage it, but water, wind, and lightning users found it too rigid. Her mother's style—the Jūhō, or Gentle Step—was water-based and easier for Hinata. Yet both styles were incomplete, mere stepping stones toward element-based nin-taijutsu.

With the assistance of Kumo's nin-taijutsu masters, Hinata created her own fearsome style: Gentle Nin-Taijutsu. Only gentle in name.

During this time, the two made good friends—Karui, Omoi, and Samui, as well as Yugito Nii and her bijū, Matatabi the Nibi.

They spent the last three years training on Turtle Island, mastering their new powers. Kurama admitted to granting both girls an affinity for lightning in addition to their natural ones. Naruko learned to use her first, second, and—uniquely to the Kyūbi—third-level chakra cloaks, as well as her full bijū form, though she couldn't yet master the Bijūdama.

Hinata, with Kurama's help, unlocked the next level of the Byakugan. Thanks to Kurama's ancient knowledge, she learned about the first Hyuga and the Shirogan—the True White Eye. These eyes allowed greater distance and clarity than the Byakugan, full color vision, advanced chakra detection, and no blind spot. With them, Hinata could see natural chakra, absorb it, and use it in her own form of senjutsu.

Also, when they were fifteen, their relationship progressed to a new level.

Flashback – Third Week of Classes

"Hey, foreigner girl, wanna come with me? I promise that in my clan compound we'll treat you better than whoever bought you. What do you say? I'll guarantee the best life—as long as you bear strong children for me," said a well-known clan heir to Hinata. This clan had supported the aborted kidnapping policies.

"Hands off my wife, dork! Or you'll lose those hands," Naruko growled.

"Hahaha! Why should I listen to foreign trash like you, blondie? Besides, what's the point of marrying a stolen breeder like her to a wanton freak like you?"

Karui, Omoi, and Samui were about to intervene, but Naruko's fist rocketed into the boy's face.

"You moron! Don't you know Raikage A outlawed the kidnapping policy? Also, I'm not female—my bloodline makes me a hermaphrodite, and I'm definitely more gifted than you."

"You're a freak. A cheap, ugly whore—"

Before he could finish, Hinata chakra-slapped him, leaving a handprint on his cheek and sending him to Naruko's feet. As the teacher tried to intervene, Naruko kicked him in the ribs so hard that he flew out the window. Luckily, they were on the ground floor.

That afternoon, the couple was summoned to the council chambers.

"How dare you filthy foreigners bully my son—Yunichi Haroy of the noble Haroy clan? I demand compensation for—"

"Blah blah blah, keep talking, old geezer," Naruko interrupted.

"What my husband meant to say, honorable councilmen and women," Hinata said calmly, "is that this was clearly an unfortunate misunderstanding. As our classmates can confirm, your son not only attempted to kidnap and assault me—invoking a now-illegal law—but also insulted my husband and our clan. First, the kidnapping law has been abolished and was never intended to be used on allies or fellow Kumogakure citizens. His offer was both rude and illegal, containing threats in your clan's name. He then called my husband—who, due to her bloodline, is a hermaphrodite—offensive names. As head of the Uzumaki Clan, allied with Kumo and protected by clan law, what Naruko did was perfectly legal. Would you not react the same way if someone tried to rape your wife and insult your identity?"

She glanced toward the Raikage, hinting that Kurama was anything but pleased.

"Well," A said, "young H is correct in all she stated. Anything else to add?"

"Yes," the elder Haroy snapped. "I demand a duel—tomorrow at dawn. It's our clan right."

The next morning, due to clan customs, Killer Bee—legal guardian of the Uzumaki clan head—appeared for the duel. The Haroy clan suffered public humiliation when they surrendered before the match began. Hinata demanded nothing but their respect, preventing them from becoming martyrs against the current Raikage or the Uzumakis.

All of Kumo learned two things that day: Hinata, though soft-spoken, was a fearsome politician. And Bee, encouraged by Naruko, was even more insufferable after their absolute victory.

Flashback – Meeting the Kitty

Six months later…

"Yo, kiddos, we're having dinner with someone special tonight. Anything you want?" Bee asked.

"Oh oh oh! Ramen—tons of it! Also takoyaki!" Naruko cheered.

"Bee-san, should we dress up?" Hinata asked.

"Nah, H, don't worry. It's just us, the Brokage, and our guest."

That night, the Uzumaki couple met Yugito Nii and Matatabi… and a lot of sushi.

"Well, looks like every jinchūriki has a food quirk," Hinata teased.

"What do you mean, H-chan? I'm eating everything on the table!" Naruko protested.

"W-Well, that's true… e-except for the mountain of empty sushi boxes behind you. Same with takoyaki… and ramen."

"Even if it's true," A laughed, "it seems you all have food quirks, H-chan. You're clearly addicted to cinnamon buns and ramen."

"My bun addiction is a long story… related to my deceased mother. They give me a nostalgic vibe. And the ramen… well, that started after being under Kurama-sama's influence. So maybe it's a jinchūriki thing."

"Ne, Yugito-ne-chan, wanna hang out when you're in town?" Naruko asked.

"It's not a good idea. No one knows you're a jinchūriki yet, and I'm not exactly well-liked, unlike Bee-san."

Naruko scratched her head. "H-chan and I don't care what people think. We should totally hang out. I mean, we're practically family!"

Flashback – Completing the Fist (3 Years Later)

A more confident Hinata waited outside the Raikage's office, folders and scrolls in hand. Once Mabui signaled her in, she bowed deeply.

"A-sama, may I have a moment of your time? I need guidance on a project and wasn't sure who else to ask."

Smiling warmly, the Raikage motioned her closer. "Tell me, H-chan. What can I do for the academy's brightest star? I heard you've even helped classmates develop their skills and organized private lessons with jōnin. Of course I have time for you."

"You flatter me, A-sama. It's mostly thanks to N-chan's ideas—I just help organize and execute them."

"Jajajajaja! Always modest, huh? And drop the 'sama'—we're family. Now, what's on your mind?"

"I've mastered my mother's Jūhō and developed a lightning-based Jūken. But after studying advanced main-branch techniques and comparing them to nin-taijutsu… I believe the Hyuga styles are just proto-forms. Incomplete predecessors to nin-taijutsu. The Jūken is essentially the base for an earth-aligned nin-taijutsu. The Hyuga likely were nin-taijutsu masters once, but the elder council dumbed it down for easier use. It results in great chakra control, but hinders chakra pool development. Only the most well-rounded can use jutsu like the 'Mountain Crusher'—which I believe is actually Earth Release: Mountain Crusher."

A nodded, impressed with her thorough analysis.

"I'd like your help developing a new nin-taijutsu style, based on my taijutsu and research. I only ask for pointers and maybe a monthly progress check-in."

"Hinata-chan," A said after a pause, eyes shining, "you've outdone yourself. This is incredible. With help from Naruko, Bee, and Yugito, we'll have you developing your own style in no time. Don't tell Naruko-chan, but… if you keep this up, you might be her rival for the hat! WAJAJAJAJAJA!"

Blushing furiously, Hinata gathered her scrolls and retreated, leaving the Raikage roaring with laughter.

Flashback: Turtle Island – 4 Years After Joining Kumo

"Welcome, kiddos, to Turtle Island! Here, you'll learn to harness and control the power within you," Bee announced, spreading his arms wide and spinning around with his usual flair. "Remember, this is about the team—not just the human and the bijuu."

Bee showed them around the entire complex, pointing out the schedule. "Get ready, 'cause from now on, you're gonna train like crazy! If what your old man told us is true, that masked guy is gonna come after us. But he doesn't know that you're a girl now! So, we'll train you here to use your bijuu powers—same as H-chan, or whatever the ol' Nine-O has in store for you. But off the island, only use her powers as a last resort, got it?"

They stopped in front of a waterfall. The Kyūbi swapped places with Naruko, who stepped forward, voice calm and wise.

"Listen. If you meditate beneath this waterfall, you will face your own darkness—your fears and insecurities. You may not need to, because I now allow you to use my chakra willingly, and the new seal prevents me from corrupting you. But I still recommend that both of you do this—for inner peace. Understood?"

Naruko's Trial

Naruko sat meditating when a shadow emerged from the waterfall. It was her doppelganger—identical in appearance, but covered in crude, humiliating tattoos in place of her seal marks.

"Hehehe... Look at you," the dark clone sneered. "You're pathetic. Pretending to be the good girl, but I know what you really are—a greedy, hateful bitch. You want to rape that sweet little wife of yours, don't you? Seduce everyone you can, kill the rest. You want to bring chaos to Konoha for what they did to you—and then burn the world down."

"You're wrong!" Naruko snapped, standing up. "I know who you are. You're my darkness, my fear. But I don't want those things. What they did to me was unforgivable, but revenge like that is pointless. My greatest revenge will be living better than they ever expected."

"Really? Then fight me!" Dark Naruko lunged.

They clashed—perfectly matched in speed and strength.

"You can't win," Dark Naruko laughed. "I am you. The real you. Unchained. Free. You? You're a slave—playing by the rules of the same monster who killed our parents. Swearing loyalty to our greatest enemy. Letting that pale-eyed bitch force you into marriage. I could be queen of this world. You're just a pawn."

Naruko gritted her teeth, summoning a katana from her seal. "You're not me. Kurama-ka-chan is my mother now. She didn't want to hurt anyone. And I'm no one's servant—they're my family, my allies. Hinata truly loves me. And I love her."

They clashed again, blades striking with explosive force.

"I don't get it... I should be stronger," Naruko thought, dodging a vicious strike. "All she has is hate."

Bee's voice echoed in her mind: "Control your temper, girly..."

"...Maybe it's not about defeating her. Maybe it's about accepting her—acknowledging her without letting her control me."

Naruko dropped her weapons and embraced her shadow.

"What are you doing?" the dark side hissed, trying to pull away.

"I understand now. I don't need to fight you. You are part of me. And I'm not afraid of you anymore."

"Bullshit! You're a monster, just like me! Once they see you use demon powers, they'll all hate you. You can't survive that—I can!"

"Shhh... It's okay. I'm not alone anymore. Hinata, Kurama-ka-chan, Bee-nii-san, the Raikage, Samui, Omoi, Karui... I have people now. And I'll have more. So let go... let go of the fear."

"No... you can't do this to me... You can't—"

Dark Naruko faded into light.

Naruko opened her eyes, a calm serenity washing over her. She felt whole.

"You're ready to learn how to use my power now... daughter."

Hinata's Trial

Hinata found herself inside a silent dojo, surrounded by faceless figures seated in seiza around the edge of the training floor. Two versions of herself stood before her—one dressed in an elaborate kimono with her hair in a complex bun, the other a young, timid child hiding behind the first.

"Look who's here—the little traitor," the elegant version sneered. "You're just a parasite, feeding off others' strength and confidence."

"Begone. I don't need your lies," the real Hinata said flatly.

"Hahaha! We are you! We are Hinata Hyūga! A little girl who cries for help. A failure who could've been a princess of Konoha!"

"Begone. You are not me," she said again.

"You think being in Kumo and marrying a jinchūriki changed anything? You're still weak. Your wife only wants you for your body—"

The crowd around her murmured, "Failure," "Whore," "Useless," "Traitor."

Hinata stood tall. "I know who I am. No one knows my weaknesses better than me. I may not be the strongest or the wisest, but I am Hinata Uzumaki. I'm proud of myself. Naruko is proud of me. And my people are proud of me."

"YOU CAN'T CHANGE! YOU'RE STILL A FAILURE!" the crowd roared.

"Hinata Hyūga is dead. Konoha killed her when they killed Naruko. I am Hinata Uzumaki—and I am no princess."

"Liar!"

"BEGONE!" she shouted, activating her Byakugan. "You are only my fears and insecurities. I have outgrown you. The Hyūga held me back because I was kind. They feared my mother's style, and my goals. They disowned me—and I denied them the satisfaction of owning my future. I am Hinata Uzumaki, future matriarch. Now—BEGONE!"

The illusions faded under her furious gaze.

"You make me proud, Hinata. You will be the perfect mate for my kit," Kurama's voice rumbled.

"Thank you, Kurama-sama."

Inside the Temple

"This is the plan," Kurama said through Naruko. "Bee, Gyūki and I will teach Naruko how to progress through the chakra cloak stages and achieve full bijuu transformation. Hinata, you'll assist in the first stage by using the chakra I've given you. After that, you'll develop your own techniques with my help. Also, keep your Byakugan active at all times—you'll learn why later."

Bee took over. "Alright kids, here's the breakdown. The more tails a bijuu has, the more complex the chakra cloak. Ichibi has a sand cloak. Nibi and Sanbi only reach stage one. We can go further. Stage one is a bubble-like chakra layer that covers your body. It's caustic to enemies and changes shape based on your will. More tails = more power."

"Stage two," Gyūki said, taking control of Bee, "is the 'mini-bijuu' stage. The cloak becomes a tight, armor-like suit with tails and bijuu traits. For most hosts, this stage is dangerous—the cloak burns and mixes with their blood. It starts around four tails. Six tails for us adds a skeleton layer. After that—you go full bijuu."

"For you, Naruko," Kurama added through Hinata, "there's a third form—what your mother called the 'perfect chakra cloak.' It's like stage one, but tighter and flame-like. Harder to detect, and it amplifies your own strength. It consumes less chakra too."

"Let's train like crazy!" Naruko giggled.

Flashback: The Truth-Seeking Eye

Year 2 on Turtle Island

After a year of training together, Naruko continued her studies while Hinata began private lessons with Kurama.

"Girl, I have a gift for you… knowledge. Tell me—what do you know of the Sharingan and Byakugan?"

Hinata replied respectfully. "The Sharingan is the Uchiha's dojutsu. It allows them to analyze, copy, and predict jutsu. It's great for genjutsu and seeing chakra. The Byakugan, from my ex-clan, gives 360° vision with one blind spot. It lets us see chakra systems and tenketsu. It's said both clans are related."

"Correct," Kurama said. "Both descend from the Ōtsutsuki. What you don't know is both dojutsu can evolve. The Uchiha have the Mangekyō Sharingan. Your bloodline has the Shirogan—the True White Eye, or 'Truth-Seeking Eye.' Your clan lost the power to awaken it due to limited chakra pools. That's why I told you to keep your Byakugan active. With my chakra, it's possible."

Months passed.

One morning, Hinata awoke seeing everything in full color. Her Byakugan had evolved. In the mirror, her eyes gleamed like perfect pearls.

"You've awakened your ancestors' eyes," Kurama whispered. "With them, you can see lies, perceive bonds between people, and sense natural chakra. But until we find a sage, do not absorb it into your body. Only coat your jutsu with it. Understand?"

"Yes, Kurama-sama."

"Also… from now on, you can call me Ka-chan."

Hinata's face flushed red as her lavender eyes reappeared. Kurama roared with laughter.

Author's Note:

Hinata is going to get bolder now. I love shy, sweet Hinata—but she deserves to grow and bloom into a powerful kunoichi after everything she's endured.

Naruko and Hinata will be strong—but not godlike. They'll be high-chūnin when they begin missions. The original mostly showed genin and elite jōnin, but I want a more balanced middle.

Also... prepare yourself. Soon enters the man, the myth, the legend—JIRAIYA! The idol of all women and the role model of all men.
