*SOPHIA'S POV*
It was morning, and I was up, but as usual, Bran always left before I was up. I got prepped and headed out for work with public transportation.
Apparently, Pierre was supposed to return to drop me off at work, but he was delayed by an emergency accident on the road, so he could not meet up with me.
He finally returned home and did not meet me at home, as I had already left on my own, but he met with Henna as she was on her way to her luxury bag store.
"Excuse me, please, have you seen Mrs Garner?" he asked Henna, suddenly intrigued to get some information from him.
"Well, I am sure she must be around here somewhere. Why do you ask?"
"I am supposed to drop her off at work, but I got delayed."
"Oops, that was unexpected indeed. How about you tell me something that I need to know, and I will tell you exactly where Sophia is?"
Just then, Mrs Reeves walked by and spotted Pierre. She knew he would only be back here to pick me up, and she knew that I had left already.
She walked up to where Pierre and Henna stood.
"Are you looking for a young madam?"
"Yes, yes…. I called out to her, but I got no response."
"I am afraid she left already."
"Left already?…. I am supposed to drop her off at work," Pierre commented, quite worried that Bran would be angry with him if something happened to me on the way to work.
"Nobody asked for you to interrupt here, old hag!" Henna turned and said to Mrs Reeves.
"I am sorry."
Mrs Reeves said this and left the scene.
"I was planning to tell you that anyway."
"I am sorry, but I have to head back and look for her now."
Pierre said this and was about to leave when Henna called out.
"Look for her? Well, let me tag along, I need to get to work too, that way we can look for her together," she said with a fake smile.
Henna and Pierre got into the car and drove out of the compound and onto the road.
*PIERRE'S POV*
While still driving and looking out to see if I would see Mrs Garner, Henna decided to speak up as she sat right next to me.
"It must be quite tough working for Bran," she said and looked at me.
"Not at all, I do enjoy my job."
"You must be the closest to Bran, I bet you know everything about his movements and decisions, too."
"I am just his personal assistant, I am not his confidant, ma," I said and continued driving while looking out at the side roads.
"Well, there isn't much difference, is there? Do you think you can answer a question for me?" she suddenly asked.
I slightly looked at her and focused on the steering.
"Where is Bran and Sophia going tonight?"
"What?"
"I know you heard me the first time."
"I am sorry, but I don't think it is in my place to reveal that. Mrs Garner would best answer that question as your sister."
"Do you think I would be here asking you if she did?"
"I am sorry, but I really can't."
I suddenly felt a not-so-cold and not-so-warm touch on my lap as I was driving. As I looked, I saw that it was Henna's left hand on my lap as she caressed it seductively.
"What are you doing? This is not appropriate, please. I am driving Miss Henna."
"Would you rather cause an accident because you're not focused, or would you rather tell me where Bran and Sophia are going tonight?"
"Can you please not do this?"
I said this and removed her hand with my right hand and then went back to the steering, but that didn't stop her as she placed her hand back on my lap, and this time around, she intensified the caressing.
I quickly swerved the car and parked at the side of the road.
"They are going to a business partner's birthday party," I said without knowing that I had said it. I just wanted her to stop with her uncalled touches.
"A birthday party? Whose?"
"I told you what you wanted to know, I don't know the rest."
"We both know that is a lie, but I might as well leave you for today, maybe next time," she said and winked at me before she got out of the car.
I immediately drove away from that scene before she could change her mind.
*HENNA'S POV*
I brought out the handkerchief from my bag and wiped the hand I used to caress Pierre, as I was irritated by the fact that it wasn't Bran I caressed like that.
I later brought out my phone and made a phone call to Jenny.
"Come pick me up from the store."
"Where are you?" Jenny asked over the phone.
"I don't know! I am standing by the road, just find me, Jenny."
I said and hung up the call.
*BRAN'S POV*
I was just coming out front a meeting when I got a call on my personal from Pierre.
"Is she at the office now?" I asked as I walked to my office while I handed over some files to Jo.
"I am sorry, sir, there was a bit delay."
This caught Bran's attention as he stopped walking for a while.
"What delay?"
"On my way back, there was an emergency on the road which delayed me."
"Where is my wife, Pierre?" I asked, still composed.
"That is the problem, sir. I have looked for her by the roadside, but I still don't know where she is, sir. I called the office and they said she was not at work yet…I am really sorry, sir."
I took a deep breath.
"Let me call her on her personal phone, keep looking around."
I hung up the call and dialled Sophia's number, it kept ringing, but there was no answer, now I was worried.
I continued walking and got into my office, and pulled off my suit.
I dialled her number again, it rang, and yet there was no answer. I was beginning to get more worried as I kept calling at short intervals for close to ten minutes, and she finally picked up.
"Sophia! Where did you keep your phone!?" I raised my voice at her unknowingly.
This sudden act startled her.
"Bran, my phone has always been with me!"
"Then why haven't you been picking up? I have been worried sick about you."
"My phone was on DnD, I did not hear it ring. Why are you being this way? The world doesn't revolve around me, I am not a baby Bran."
"But mine does! My world revolves around you, Sophia!"
Those words sort of hit a part of me, and it just made me feel like I was being dramatic, and I mellowed.
I suddenly was not interested in arguing with him anymore.
Both sides became quiet now.
"I didn't see Pierre, so I decided to pay my mom a visit."
"I'm sorry, I—I overreacted."
"It's fine, I was about to leave to work anyway."
"Just stay there, I will send Pierre the address and he will come pick you up."
"You don't have...." I was cut short as Bran had hung up the call.
