"Using the effect of Kaiser Seahorse, I Tribute Summon the second Demon God from my hand—Sanga of the Thunder!"
With a booming crash of thunder, golden lightning fell from the sky and struck Kaiser Seahorse. In the moment he was enveloped by golden light, the Thunder God absorbed his soul energy to bring about his descent.
Appearing as a being with no legs, only an upper body floating via electromagnetic energy generated from lightning—Sanga of the Thunder had descended!
(Sanga of the Thunder, Level 7, ATK: 2600, DEF: 2200)
'Two Demon Gods already...'
Seeing one Demon God on each side of the Labyrinth Brothers' field, both Judai's team and the crowd of students who had come to spectate were visibly tense.
They might not have seen it with their own eyes before, but they'd heard the legends of the Labyrinth Brothers—including the story of their ultimate fusion monster!
Now, with two Demon Gods already summoned, all that was left was the Wind-type Demon God. If they could follow up with that and manage to summon their strongest fusion monster within the next two turns...
It was something both nerve-wracking and thrilling to anticipate!
"Next, by paying 2000 of our team's Life Points, I activate the Spell Card The True Name!"
(Labyrinth Brothers: 6000 LP → 4000 LP)
Spending 2000 Life Points just to activate one Spell Card?
To most onlookers, it seemed like a reckless move. But to You Ye and the Labyrinth Brothers, this was a precise and powerful method of searching out their ace monster from a deck of at least forty cards!
"The effect of The True Name allows me to declare a specific monster. Then, the opponent reveals their Deck, and if that monster is in it, it's extracted and revealed to both players."
The younger Labyrinth Brother turned to his elder brother with a grin and continued,
"Although we're a team, from a certain perspective, my brother still counts as an 'opponent.' So, I can use The True Name's effect to make him reveal and extract a monster card from his Deck."
At this point, everyone understood why the younger brother used that card—he was going for the final Demon God!
"The last Demon God—Suijin, the Wind Guardian. You've got it in your Deck, right, Brother?"
"But of course, my dear brother!"
Playing perfectly in sync, the older brother pulled the card from his Deck. After the system automatically shuffled and cut his Deck, he casually flicked the Wind God card over to his younger brother with his right hand.
"The monster declared by this effect can either be added to my hand or Special Summoned to the field in face-up Attack Position, ignoring summoning conditions!"
Naturally, with the Wind God named, he chose to summon it directly.
Appearing on his field was Kazejin, the Wind Guardian, whose form resembled a squat green toad lying flat on the ground. The brothers exchanged a knowing smile before the turn player—the younger brother—shouted again:
"Hey, blue-haired little shorty! Now you'll witness the power of our ace monster!"
As he spoke, the younger Labyrinth Brother pointed across the field directly at Sho.
"The freshly summoned Kazejin, together with Suijin and Sanga, will launch a joint attack on that little kid's three toy cars!"
Judai's team had four monsters on the field. Of them, Sparkman, Decoyroid, and Patroid were in Defense Position, while only the Fusion Monster Rescueroid Ambulance was in Attack Position. And because Sho had attacked the last turn, the brother now opted to target and destroy Sho's three toy car-like monsters first.
The first to be commanded was Kazejin, who expelled a violent gale from the golden "Wind" kanji engraved on its back, directly targeting Patroid on Sho's field.
But just as the raging wind was about to strike the patrol car and destroy it, an unknown force suddenly redirected the gale mid-flight—causing it to veer off and instead blow toward Decoyroid, the weakest and least monster-like of the four.
"What the heck!?"
The younger brother looked utterly shocked.
If Kazejin's initial target had been Decoyroid, he wouldn't have reacted at all—after all, the other two Demon Gods still hadn't attacked yet.
But now, the whirlwind aimed directly at Patroid suddenly curved mid-flight and hit the little red car instead. That was just too weird!
"Decoyroid's effect!" Sho explained.
"As long as this card is face-up on the field, all your monsters can only target it for attacks!"
Upon hearing this, the younger brother sneered and said:
"Drawing aggro, huh? Whatever. I still have two more Demon Gods who haven't attacked yet!"
As he spoke, Kazejin's whirlwind shredded the little red car. With only 500 DEF, it didn't even qualify as a decent wall.
"Hmph! Fine then—Suijin! Attack that patrol car!"
Now that Decoyroid, the aggro magnet, was gone, Suijin stomped, summoning a tidal wave to crash down upon Patroid.
But just as the wave was about to engulf the police car, it suddenly curved mid-flight—just like the earlier whirlwind—and veered left from the younger brother's perspective.
"Again?! It curved again?! …Wait—
Isn't that the red car I just destroyed?! How the hell is it back on the field?!"
One glance was all it took to shock him—
The red car, which had been torn to bits by Kazejin's wind, had somehow returned to Sho's field.
"Rescueroid Ambulance's effect!
As long as it's face-up on the field when one of my monsters is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon it back to the field in Defense Position!
But this effect can only be used once per turn."
That's why Suijin's tidal wave, just like Kazejin's earlier whirlwind, ended up redirecting mid-way to destroy the poor red Decoyroid again.
"Tch! This time for sure, nothing should get in my way!"
Watching the red car get swallowed by the wave again, the younger brother clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Now that Decoyroid had been destroyed a second time, the next attack from Sanga of the Thunder could finally take out either that troublesome Fusion monster or the still-annoying patrol car.
"Humhum~ sore wa dō kana?"
(Hmm~ not so fast, maybe?)
Having been around Judai long enough, Sho had picked up a few quirky catchphrases.
Smiling, he activated the card he'd set back in the first turn:
"Just like my partner—De-Fusion! I de-fuse Rescueroid Ambulance, and Special Summon Rescueroid and Ambulanceroid in Defense Position!"
Right before the damage step, Sho used his pre-set De-Fusion.
He waited until Rescueroid Ambulance had used its once-per-turn revival effect, then split it back into its original monsters.
As his adorable roid monsters revived in Defense Position, and Decoyroid was once again destroyed, Sho declared:
"Now, with Decoyroid destroyed again, Rescueroid's effect activates!
As long as it's face-up on the field when a 'roid' monster I control is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, I can return it to my hand once it reaches the Graveyard!"
As Sho recovered Decoyroid from the Graveyard, the other rescue unit, Ambulanceroid, began flashing its red emergency lights and sounding a series of alarm bells.
"Ambulanceroid's effect!
When a 'roid' monster is returned from my Graveyard to my hand, I can immediately Special Summon that monster to the field!"
And so, as Sho placed Decoyroid into his Duel Disk for the third time, the red car returned for its third appearance and second resurrection.
Labyrinth Brothers: "..."
Spectating students and teachers: "!!"
Good grief!
They had just witnessed a literal infinite resurrection combo!
Unless the opponent used a card effect to remove Decoyroid from the field, flipped it face-down, or attacked with a monster that had piercing damage, no matter how many times they attacked, it would do nothing!
Watching Decoyroid get destroyed a third time by Sanga of the Thunder, only to be recovered and revived yet again, the younger brother was completely speechless.
After a long pause, he finally gritted his teeth and spat out the words:
"BATTLE. PHASE. OVER!!"
This is just… so fing infuriating!!*
