Chapter 8 - Clash with the Abnormal Orc King

Jinhyuk's spear hummed at his side as he prepared to face down the towering foe.

The Abnormal Orc King stepped forward, lowering its massive greatsword onto its shoulder. Muscle rippled beneath its gleaming white armor. With one powerful push, the Orc rocketed forward, its form blurring in sheer speed. It punched with bone‑crushing force.

Jinhyuk acted fast—raising the five floating greatswords in defense. In an instant, three of them shattered under the orc's monstrous blow, splintering like brittle wood. The force dropped Jinhyuk off balance; he was flung through the cave's opening, harsh wind blasting past him, scattering dust.

He slammed into solid rock outside, spear planted in the earth behind him to break his fall.

The Orc King emerged into the moonlit forest, gazing down at the bleeding human.

"Impressive, mortal," it rumbled. The orc's golden tusks gleamed. "You have withstood my strike. I am Khor'vash the Unyielding, Warlord of the Bleak Crown. So speak your name."

He staggered upright, pulling the spear free. Blood dripped down his form, but a defiant spark remained in his eyes.

"Ha Jinhyuk," he said, voice husky from pain, "but I'm nobody's underling."

Khor'vash sneered."Thanks mean little when your knees quake." He hefted his blade."Stand, human, and fight. Show me why you belong in death's shadow."

Jinhyuk adopted his battle stance, telekinetic swords circling in his favor. Only two remained whole—sturdier now.

Khor'vash roared, lifted off the ground again, slashing downward with the greatsword. Jinhyuk met the strike, parried with one sword, twisting his body away from the blow's full force.

He retaliated with a thrust—Khor'vash met it blade-to-spine and pushed back. Then stomped the ground with such force that loose stones turned into razor shards.

Jinhyuk panted, but the spear bit into the earth, slicing a groove through a boulder before he plunged forward. Khor'vash met him with a block, then kicked up a colossal boulder and hurled it.

Summoning strength, Jinhyuk split the boulder with a swift arc of his spear. The rock cracked, debris scattering.

He vaulted off the ground, dragging spear overhead and slamming it downward with everything he had. The steel met steel.

They parted—broken pieces of rock everywhere.

Jinhyuk gave the spear a slight spin, then tossed it forward. Khor'vash raised its sword to block, electric energy sparking where metal clashed.

Suddenly, Khor'vash slammed its foot down—chiseling the spear sideways, knocking it off course and launching it into the air.

"Impressive," the Orc Warlord said, stepping forward."Your skills are commendable, but still unworthy."

Jinhyuk flicked his wrist and the spear returned—humming with energy.

Khor'vash reared back and punched with seismic force. Jinhyuk blocked with both arms, feeling his bones crack but he held firm. The gash in his side burned.

A brutal barrage followed — spear thrust, orc sweep — steel clashing, sparks flying, primal roars echoing through the forest and cave entrance.

But Jinhyuk found his opening. With a burst of strength, he launched a punch to the Orc King's chest — staggering it. Heart pounding, he charged.

Khor'vash kicked hard, knocking Jinhyuk into a rock.

He spat blood but rose. Gray dusk fell behind them.

Khor'vash advanced, voice resonant like earth-shaking thunder:

"You feign strength! Why does a human seek power? For conquest? For wealth? Or for pride?"

Jinhyuk's chest heaved. He locked eyes with the orc.

"For freedom," he replied, voice fierce. "The freedom to dream. To eat. To live. To protect. To love."

The Orc King paused, gaze softening ever so slight.

"Admirable," Khor'vash admitted. "Then meet me with your full ambition."

They sprinted forward together, greatsword versus spear. Khor'vash swung—Jinhyuk ducked. He twisted and struck at the chipped armor on the orc's flank—metal shattered, internal iron plating exposed.

Sparks and blood spurted.

Jinhyuk felt the power surge through his veins. He buried his feet, lasers of resolve in his gaze.

Khor'vash raised his giant sword for a final overhead blow. Jinhyuk rolled aside and lunged, spear glowing with his new ability.

He drove it deep into the kaft of the Orc King, who staggered beneath the force.

The orc king planted its feet, trembling. With its last breath, it spoke.

"Khor'vash the Unyielding… you fought bravely. Remember… stronger foes await… both in body and mind. Hold fast to your dream—or lose it all."

Then, it collapsed—throne cracking beneath its massive weight.
