Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: She Thought About Married Life

Miura Yumiko's invitation was unexpected.

Su Yu didn't quite understand why she had invited him, but if it meant increasing his favorability score and getting a reward, he had no reason to refuse.

With Miura Yumiko's personality, reaching at least 30% favorability seemed like a safe bet—enough for an A-rank reward.

For the rest of the class, Su Yu put aside unnecessary thoughts and focused on studying.

Even during breaks, he reviewed his notes.

His memory enhancement skill was proving to be incredibly useful—it would definitely help him with future exams.

After School

As the final bell rang, Miura Yumiko walked over to Su Yu.

She had already discussed everything with Ebina Hina.

Yuigahama Yui, however, approached with a complicated expression.

She had initially planned to refuse.

But after Miura Yumiko told her about Su Yu losing his parents and being all alone, she found it difficult to reject the invitation.

"Su Yu-kun, these are my good friends, Hina and Yui," Miura Yumiko introduced.

"I know their names," Su Yu said after a brief pause.

At that moment, he finally understood the reason for Miura Yumiko's invitation.

"Su Yu-kun, what school were you in before this? Was it in Tokyo?" Ebina Hina asked curiously.

"I attended an ordinary school in Tokyo. I've been living here for quite some time now," Su Yu answered.

"I've noticed you're always reading in class. During lunch, you seem to go somewhere—are you in a club?" Ebina Hina continued questioning.

"I joined the Service Club. It's a club where I can read quietly." Su Yu packed up his bag as he spoke.

"Yukinoshita-san's club?" Ebina Hina was a little surprised.

Su Yu nodded and walked toward the door.

"You and Yukinoshita-san… are you close?"

Ebina Hina's curiosity deepened.

"We don't talk much. Most of the time, we just read in silence." Su Yu shook his head.

"Do you like Yukinoshita-san?" Ebina Hina asked with a grin, sneaking a glance at Yuigahama Yui.

Yui also seemed eager to know the answer, her gaze fixed on Su Yu.

"I like all beautiful things. If that kind of 'like' counts, then yes, I like her," Su Yu replied after a moment of hesitation.

"That's an interesting answer," Ebina Hina adjusted her glasses and shot Yuigahama Yui a subtle you have a chance look.

Yui blushed and lowered her head, looking shy.

The four of them headed toward the shoe lockers.

As Su Yu finished changing his shoes and prepared to leave, his phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the screen—it was an unknown number. His first instinct was to decline the call.

But then he remembered—he had recently put up a rental ad in front of his apartment.

Aside from his own room, the other five rooms were still vacant.

His apartment had three floors and six rooms—living there alone was a waste of space.

From what he had learned about rental prices, just renting out one room could bring in at least 800,000 yen per year.

With that in mind, Su Yu answered the call.

"Hello, is this the landlord of Sakura Dorm? I'd like to rent a room. Can I come take a look?"

A familiar voice came from the other end.

Su Yu froze for a few seconds.

"…Hiratsuka-sensei?"

"Hm?"

"This is Su Yu, the transfer student. Sakura Dorm was left to me by my parents. I'm the current landlord," Su Yu explained briefly.

"…" Hiratsuka Shizuka fell silent for a moment.

Then she remembered Su Yu's situation and quickly regained her composure.

"Su Yu-kun, since it's your apartment, and it's so close to school, I'll take it. I'll be there soon."

"Please wait for about ten minutes," Su Yu said, glancing at the three girls approaching him.

"No problem, I'll wait," Hiratsuka-sensei replied in a gentle tone.

After hanging up, Su Yu turned to the three girls.

"Miura-san, do you mind if we make a quick stop? Someone wants to rent a room at my apartment. It's Hiratsuka-sensei. The place isn't far—just about 500 meters from here."

"…Your apartment?" The three girls were momentarily stunned.

"My parents left it to me. Since it's close to Soubu High, I decided to transfer here," Su Yu explained.

"Can we see it?" Miura Yumiko was curious.

"Of course. I was actually planning to show you guys anyway, as long as you don't mind," Su Yu nodded.

"Su Yu-kun, this will be my first time visiting a boy's house. Can I take a look at your room?" Ebina Hina asked with interest.

"As long as you don't rummage under my bed, you can," Su Yu replied.

"Su Yu-kun… what exactly do you have under your bed?"

"Some of my memories," Su Yu said quietly.

Ebina Hina's smile faded slightly.

No matter what kind of memories they were, they probably weren't something to be casually touched.

On the Way to Sakura Dorm

Actually, "Sakura Dorm" was a name Su Yu had chosen himself, inspired by an anime from his past world.

Although that anime didn't exist here, the name still had a nice ring to it.

Besides, there really was a cherry blossom tree in front of the dorm, so it suited the name well.

Su Yu's identity had been granted by the system. His parents, his apartment—everything came as part of that identity.

It was all real, yet Su Yu had no actual memories of his supposed parents.

In other words, he had truly crossed over into this world, but was given a legitimate backstory that allowed him to blend in seamlessly.

The four of them walked in silence.

When they passed by a convenience store, Su Yu suddenly stopped.

"Wait here for a moment," he said to the three girls before stepping inside.

As soon as he was gone, Ebina Hina turned to Yuigahama Yui.

"Yui, what do you think?"

"I… I don't know," Yui replied, her face red.

She really didn't know. But she was definitely growing a little curious about Su Yu.

"If you don't know, why are you blushing?" Ebina Hina teased.

"I… I just…" Yui stammered, turning even redder.

"Yui, you should seize the opportunity," Miura Yumiko added.

"Su Yu-kun's situation is pretty great. Owning an apartment like that in this area… just from the rent alone, he's already making more than most office workers. If you married him, you'd have a secure and comfortable life as a gentle, caring housewife. I'm kind of jealous," Ebina Hina said with a smirk.

"Hina…" Yui's face turned bright red.

"Too bad I already have Hayama. Otherwise, even I'd be tempted," Miura Yumiko chuckled.

"Yumiko…" Yui covered her face.

Being teased like this, she found herself actually imagining what married life with Su Yu would be like…

Wait.

No!

They had barely talked—how did she end up thinking about marriage?!

"Sorry to keep you waiting," Su Yu's voice interrupted her thoughts.

He walked over, carrying a bag.

"I bought some snacks and drinks. Hopefully, it won't be too boring for you guys."
