The first rays of dawn touched Lin's face, pulling her from a restless sleep. Hyun was still asleep on the plush sofa beside her, looking softer without his usual sharp edge. Curiosity nudged her. She crept closer, studying his strong jaw.
Suddenly, his eyes flickered open, dark and alert. Lin jumped back. A faint smile touched Hyun's lips. "Sweetheart," he mumbled, his voice deep, "it's not polite to stare at a man sleeping peacefully."
Confusion flashed across her face, quickly replaced by her usual impatience. "Wake up," she said, briskly. "It's getting late for the office. I need to get ready." She headed to the bathroom, wanting some space.
After a quick shower, Lin prepared to leave for work. Hyun appeared in the hallway, blocking her path. "Where are you rushing to?" he asked, a subtle tension in his voice.
"To the bus stop, of course," she shot back, already calculating the minutes she had left. "I'll miss my bus." Annoyance bubbled inside her. He was why she was late.
Before she could move, he gently but firmly took her arm, leading her to the dining area. A huge breakfast waited. "You will eat before leaving," he stated, no room for argument. He pulled out a chair for her. Despite her protests about being late, she found herself sitting.
"There's no need for you to take the bus," Hyun said, watching her carefully as she slowly picked at the food. "You will come with me in my car."
A jolt of surprise, quickly hidden, crossed Lin's face. He's being... kind? she thought, a strange warmth spreading. Why is he caring so much?
The car ride to the office was quiet. As they entered the building, a wave of shock went through the employees. Murmurs followed them. Their CEO's new wife was Lin, one of their own.
Lin went to her desk, feeling uneasy. She didn't know Hyun was already in his office, watching her on his CCTV monitors.
Soon, her close male friend and other colleagues came to congratulate her. Lin smiled politely, feeling overwhelmed. Her male friend lingered, talking closely, which Hyun didn't like. His jaw tightened as he watched.
A sudden decision hardened Hyun's face. He walked out to the main floor. Everyone stood up. "Good morning, Sir," they said.
Hyun went straight to Lin, putting a hand on her arm. "Darling," he said, his voice smooth but firm, "it's time for you to have your own office." He told his secretary, "Make a cabinet for my wife, right beside mine." Lin's eyes widened, a flicker of anger at his open possessiveness.
That night, Hyun seemed very happy. "Sorry, darling," he said, looking at her. "I can't be away from you during the day. You need to be close." His eyes gleamed. "Be a good wife, Lin. Otherwise... my possessive nature might hurt you, sweetheart." A faint blush touched Lin's neck. I have my morals, she thought defiantly. I won't cross them. Hyun just smiled, gazing out the car window, his plan unfolding.
